Where does your main tree go?

I've just moved and the first thing I've done is scout out potential locations for the tree! I am so excited, because I think with blocking off one door and a bit of jiggery pokery I can fit it underneath my living room window which I am so excited about!

It isn't a bay window, but still means I can leave the curtains open slightly and see the tree each time I arrive home!

Where is everyone else putting their tree? Always the same spot, or mixing it up this year?

My new kitchen has a ton of storage, so I also have a Christmas drawer :) Full of Christmas tea towels, festive cookie cutters, coasters, etc. I am so happy I am half tempted to not put the Christmas decs up in the loft but just get them out now!! Not sure what the new neighbours would think of me though...

At 12 foot I keep it in front of the patio doors leading out to the pool. It means people have to go in and out of a window but they're trifold so leave a big hole on the wall anyway. I love coming in my front door and seeing it across the family hall.

One tree in the sitting room . Used to be in the front hall before we got our current cats .

We normally put ours in the living room window (not quite a bay, but one side has a bay-type return on the window) and that is nice.

We have put it in the corner of the playroom/familyroom/sunroom in the back as well - we extended the kitchen/diner outwards, so it's another corner where there is a window on 2 sides but facing the back garden. Tiled floor which is easy to clean up again from pine needles, and to water the tree, when it's a real one. But cold for sitting on - whether opening presents or doing my annual "lying on the floor with only the tree lights lit, enjoying a beverage and contemplating the year just gone" that I do some quiet night before Christmas.

Last year, I got a 6 inch real tree in a pot and put that in the kitchen on the breakfast bar - which was cute, but it then died in the snow later in the spring.

This year, I think it will be the living room, and the fake tree - but I may change back to a real one for fun!

For years it went in the window, but you know, actually that is a pita as it is impossible to draw the curtains behind it. We have shutters but even those are hard to manage.

Once I put it in the hall, but that was no fun, the green has to be in the sitting room imo.

Then last year, I had a revelation. I moved the tv (on a stand, no wall mounted tv in this house!) Into the window. Still easy to draw curtains behind it. Tree went in corner where tv usually is. Perfect! I can't believe it took me 12 years to work that out.

Green = tree

We only have the one tree and it goes in front of the window or just to the left of it in the living room.

We've got a boxy protruding window with a massive sill in the living room, so tree goes on there each year.
Got a lovely random Christmas card last year from someone who lives somewhere opposite, which thanked us for the lovely golden tree they could look at every day!
