The cheek of that Mum asking for a PS4 game 🙈

WreckTangled · 29/08/2018 20:12

Presents for the DC's friends here are about £5. My best friend lives in a near by town (much bigger schools) and they all spend about £15-£20 Shock

ReindeerPoop · 29/08/2018 20:26

£8-10 is birthday party present zone here

My daughter is "past/too old" for Smiggle but adored her Tinc advent last year, she's coming up 11 but would like one again this year. She would not have been impressed with Smiggle, she's more into paper chase now

ReindeerPoop · 29/08/2018 20:27

How about a Game voucher for CF's son?

AlwaysPottering · 29/08/2018 20:29

£10 is the usual spend for birthdays around here.

imsorryiasked · 29/08/2018 20:31

@LexieLulu how about something personalised so that it's definitely "hers"?
There are some lovely things on NOTHS here such as tops, books, bags, puzzles.

MsMiaWallace · 29/08/2018 20:46

Good go karts at Halford's. just worried ordering 1 so early & if there's something wrong them.

slithytove · 29/08/2018 20:48

Is exploding kittens good for a ten year old boy?

NoWordForFluffy · 29/08/2018 20:53

You're protected under consumer rights if there's a fault in the first 6 months as it's deemed to have been there since purchase. So you'll be able to get a swap at the very least.

Singingitoverandoverandover · 29/08/2018 21:08

Ordering exploding kittens thank you! Pricey for a card game but DS7 will find it hilarious I’m sure!

Amazon have the deluxe pj mask 14pce figure set for £23.75 at the moment, cheapest about. £35 synths and Argos here

Singingitoverandoverandover · 29/08/2018 21:20

Also paw patrol paw mission cruiser down to £33.99

MorbidMuch · 29/08/2018 21:24

Thanks, Scrappy!

DH got me Exploding Kittens for my birthday and I love the game! I play it with my brother (in his 40s) and my 5 year old son, so it is definitely appealing across a wide age range!

Muddlewitch · 29/08/2018 21:27

Hawkins Bazaar have got a half price sale on including slush machine and ice cream maker for £9.99 each and drone with camera for £29.99, with really good reviews.

Muddlewitch · 29/08/2018 21:45

Disney Princess Royal Dreams Castle Playset £39.99 at Bargain Crazy plus an extra 20% off with the code W20ALL making it £32 - its £65 on Amazon so a really good saving. 4% cashback when you go through TCB too.

moonbabyandthebeast · 29/08/2018 21:59

Colour in rocket, shop, farmhouse at hobbycraft- usually £17 each (rather inflated price imo) now any 2 for £20. I haven't used these ones but the farmhouse and castle from aldi earlier this year have provided ongoing entertainment for my 2 and 4 year old

Some <a class="break-all" href="https://direct.asda.com/george/kids/fancy-dress/D25M4G1C12,default,sc.html#direct.asda.com/george/kids/fancy-dress/D25M4G1C12,default,sc.html?srule=g_price_asc&start=0&sz=20" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dressing up clothes reduced in ASDA including Paw Patrol Marshall and Disney Princess Tiana for £6 each. Quite a few of the David Walliams book character outfits reduced to £8 too.

Muddlewitch · 29/08/2018 22:29

Re the Odeon codes - not a Christmas present as such but might be nice for Christmas outings - the Meerkat Movies & Meals offer gives you buy 1 get 1 free on cinema tickets and meals for a year (only on certain days of the week.) Lots of cinemas and eating places included - Pizza Hut, Bella Italia etc and all the big cinema chains.
You need to buy an insurance policy though the meerkat site to get it but even just a one night UK travel insurance policy for about £2 will give you the year's cinema and meals offer so well worth doing. There is more info here i've done it - paid £2.09 for the policy and got the 12 month membership. Thought it might be worth mentioning as people were talking about the Groupon Odeon code and this lasts longer so would cover Xmas outings and tickets.

Alanamackree · 29/08/2018 22:40

Thanks for the link to Hawkins Bazaar Muddlewitch It’s a lovely site to browse.
They have pre-packed stockings for £25 with contents worth at least £50, although you don’t get to choose what you get. It’s a lot of tat for one stocking but could be worth splitting up among several dc. They have them for boys and girls age 3+, 8+, 14+ and adult.

HOPPER5 gets 5% off

WoahBodyforrrrm · 29/08/2018 22:59

If anyone spots a double gaming chair on their travels, please give me a shout! They’re like rocking horse shit apparently 🤦🏼‍♀️

BBTHREE76 · 29/08/2018 23:09

BBTHREE76 · 29/08/2018 23:11

Found it on amazon prime also so no minimum spend

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 30/08/2018 00:03

lexie at that age my dds liked their Ikea big top tent, puppet theatre And fairy tale puppets, dressing up (in particular Disney princess or various hats/wings/wands!), figures of favourite characters (Disney, paw patrol, night garden), Disney store dolls especially the mini animator ones, books - especially sue hendra, Julia Donaldson, and the tiger who came to tea. Teddies - I get mine a beanie boo every year (last year I got the giant ones from a card shop). Art stuff in particular stickers, chunky felt tips and large pads of paper.

A handbag with purse, old loyalty cards/gift cards, keys and various other treasures!

Happyland - favourites were (and still are at 9 and 6!) the double decker bus, Ferris wheel, rocket, fairy house.

rosablue · 30/08/2018 01:18

@muddlewitch - for the meerkat movies thing, I know the movie bit is just on certain days but are the cheap meal deals also just on those days or can it be used at any time for them?

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 30/08/2018 06:27

Does anyone use Brand Alley? Seen some things in the sale but to look properly you've got to sign up and just not sure if it's worth it...
