One wrapping paper design per child?

Sorry if the title isn't particularly self explanatory! I was just wondering if those of you with more than one child choose one design of wrapping paper for each child to make identification in the chaos of present opening a bit easier and to save the torture of writing out gift tags? Or do you just use whatever paper comes to hand whilst you're wrapping?

I like to mix up the wrapping paper. Looks great on the pile!

Disfordarkchocolate · 24/08/2018 21:58

Changing to going this was life changing. Well, Christmas Day changing.

AmazingGrace16 · 24/08/2018 21:58

Father Christmas uses an entirely different style and quality of paper to the paper under the tree but that's it here.

TheMonkeyMummy · 24/08/2018 22:00

I do this as I have four children. Makes it much simpler. I use different papers for presents from Santa and presents from family members, plus I am careful about the writing on the tags as well. I remember wondering why Santa used the same stuff and had the same writing as my mum...

Matilda1981 · 24/08/2018 22:00

Yep - I do Father Christmas presents in different wrapping paper for each child and then they only get one present each from me so not too hard to put tags on and stocking presents aren’t generally wrapped!

SellFridges · 24/08/2018 22:01

Yes. I do this.

But Father Christmas only has one type of paper.

Wolfiefan · 24/08/2018 22:01

I don't use the same design but I do use different colours. Makes things much easier in the chaos!

smudgedlipstick · 24/08/2018 22:01

Yep each of us in the family is a different style wrapping paper, and Santa uses his own red shiny wrapping paper 🤗

user1493413286 · 24/08/2018 22:02

I used different to make it easier when putting presents in stockings etc as when they fell out it was easy to know whose was whose

MrsPworkingmummy · 24/08/2018 22:03

Yes, now that I have two children I'll certainly be giving each child one style of paper, and will also put their piles on different sofas. I'm thinking red foil with green ribbon for DD and green foil and red ribbon for DS. X

Stocking presents wrapped in coloured tissue paper (no sellotape necessary- game changer on Christmas Eve).

Everything else wrapped up with tags. Family tradition is that the children give out the under tree presents - half the fun is wondering “whose that lumpy/big/squishy one is?”

ThisMustBeMyDream · 24/08/2018 22:05

I do this. Each child has their own paper. I'm sad enough that I search for 3 sets of paper that matches or compliments...!

BewareOfDragons · 24/08/2018 22:08

I tend to use 1 or 2 designs for each child for presents.

But for stockings, 1 design per stocking. Been a lifesaver! So easy to distinguish what goes where!

IggyAce · 24/08/2018 22:10

My dcs get one gift from Santa which is wrapped in silver or red foil paper with a tag. The rest are then wrapped in a different paper one for each child, usually based on their current likes. Last year did had angel pug paper and ds Spider-Man, it makes the gift unwrapping so much easier.

MouseRatFan · 24/08/2018 22:11

I do this. Each of my dc have their own type of paper and then santa wraps in plain brown packing paper that I jazz up with special ribbon.

Isadora2007 · 24/08/2018 22:12

Last year was the first year I did this. It certainly made things easier when wrapping and stashing stuff as I didn’t have the “who on EARTH is that for?” Moments on Xmas eve... but the presents on the morning didn’t look quite as nice- a bit too uniform and sorted for my liking. This year I may try to go for a colour scheme but allow a few designs in each colour... or a penguin theme or whatever but use a few different styles for each child (four- plus grandchild!)

NewtScamandersNaughtyNiffler · 24/08/2018 22:12

Yep. Different paper for each child. Santa doesn't wrap anything here

fuzzyfozzy · 24/08/2018 22:14

Thad what we do. We went to Costco years ago and we all bought a paper each. Saves on tags!
Then we have a paper for my side of the family and one for the in laws, then I know which paper to find.

Haggisfish · 24/08/2018 22:15

Yes and it was brilliant-one type of paper for each child and Santa only does stockings in our house.

WatchingFromTheWings · 24/08/2018 22:16

3 kids. Different colour scheme for each child. Saves using and writing gift tags!

NonJeNeRegretteRien · 24/08/2018 22:16

My parents always did one style of gift wrap per child - and the presents were obvious because usually on top there was an unwrapped gift that was clearly for a certain child- e.g. Bros calendar for sis, Barbie for me...

Groovee · 24/08/2018 22:18

Everyone gets one wrapping paper.

Cherrysherbet · 24/08/2018 22:20

Stocking presents are wrapped in lot sizes of different designs, the more the better. I never use the stocking paper for anything else. I have three kids, and they each have a pile under the tree, but I use lots of different papers. I don't personally like the 'one paper design per child' thing. I like an explosion of colour 🙂⭐️🎄

bluechameleon · 24/08/2018 22:22

This will be my first Christmas with two children but I always wrap each side of the family in different paper so we can easily check we are taking the right presents to different events.

Shufflebumnessie · 24/08/2018 22:24

Wow! Certainly didn't expect so many replies so soon. Great to see how everyone does it.
In our house Santa brings one present for each child, and the rest are from us. I think I'll try the one design each this year.
