@OnNaturesCourse
If I remember correctly Smyths do a 20% off sale in mid Sept. they used to follow this up with a round of £5 off £20, £10 off £50, etc vouchers but last year they ran vouchers instead of the sale and didn’t repeat the vouchers again before Christmas.

Argos typically do two 3-4-2 events, one in August, and another around the end of sept I think. Might be why you’re thinking that Smyths do two sales??

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned but I reserved it last night along with the playmobil

Just noticed the Exploding Kittens game that was so popular last year is currently £20 instead of £28 on Amazon in case anyone is interested?

SheStoodInTheStorm · 12/08/2018 08:53

Amazon have some paperbacks for £2. I love to give books as gifts so these are great for me!
I purchased these two for me

Thank you for the Playmobil bargain- DS has the pyramid and Roman Warrior ship and they get a lot of play so he’ll be delighted with this! I am delighted to get a big Christmas present for only £11.

newroundhere · 12/08/2018 09:30

The aldi baby and toddler event page seems to have crashed balalalala - too many MNers from this thread logging on?! Grin

Ewock · 12/08/2018 09:48

Can anyone recommend a good Christmas planner to buy? Maybe on an offer? With all these bargains I really need to keep track.

WreckTangled · 12/08/2018 09:49

Not a bargain but I want to recommend these for those hard to buy for people from age 7 to adult.

Smart Games they're about £10 and they're really good, I've been helping out in a toy shop and these are flying off the shelves, I also play them when we're quiet. If you have a look there's lots of different ones and I'm going to be getting them for my grandparents etc. They're great for children who like computer games too NB: I have no affiliation with this company I just really love these games Grin

Looking for my daughter some disney princess dolls if anyone sees anymore, but in looking found this Ariel Play Set at argos, down to £21.99 from £35.

OutnumberedByFurchesters · 12/08/2018 09:52

Sorry for double post...

Found these Toddler Disney Princess dolls also on clearance for £8.99 but none near me sadly.

Talisin · 12/08/2018 10:32

@FilthyforFirth I think a lit up tree around Christmas is going to look Christmassy by default Grin But they’re different enough that they won’t look odd at other times of year.

balalalala · 12/08/2018 10:50

Oh dear @newroundhere I definitely got carried away with how much I ordered!

woodwaj · 12/08/2018 11:07

@ewock I am using a planner I got in the sale in January from paperchase. There was only 2 pages with dates in so I've just took them out. It's got sections for presents, shopping, cards and addresses plus a Christmas dinner organiser. I like it! I'm still using an app for presents too so I can refer to it if I am out

InEveryDreamHomeAHeartache · 12/08/2018 11:09

Thanks so much to whoever gave the link for the Amazon make up organiser. Mine arrived today.

I just thought I would give anyone else the heads up that it did not come in a brown box or package but just in its original box. Luckily DD who I bought it for didn’t take it in for me but if you have bought one for someone in your house, you may want to keep an ear out for the delivery man.

FilthyforFirth · 12/08/2018 11:10

I think the white one is definitely Christmassy @talisin but you're right, the other one will fit in too. I am very excited to get them!

WhirlwindHugs · 12/08/2018 11:19

Okay - so not the usual level of bargain but these aren't likely to reduce. Just ordered one of the new Lego Harry Potter trains!

£5 off from amazon and in stock, comes with lots of the main characters as minifigs.

lego hogwarts express £69.99

RJnomore1 · 12/08/2018 11:25

Nice bellapierre brush set included in this makeup box for £15 today. I almost bought it but no idea who for so I stopped. Says it's worth £125 but the most expensive I can find is about £67; still a good saving plus there's other makeup bits included.

Spam88 · 12/08/2018 11:35

Thanks for the heads up on the aldi baby event - have just ordered a few stocking fillers and some bamboo plates. There's a nuby squid squirter bath toy for £3, seems to be around £10 everywhere else.

With regard to things from amazon not being boxed, it does say on the product page if this is the case and there's a box to tick if you want it boxed. I don't think it's very obvious unless you know it's there so it's worth looking for - not ideal having address labels stuck on something you want to give as a gift.

madvixen · 12/08/2018 11:36

For anyone who uses the moneysavingexpert.com forum, the "quick! grabbit while you can" thread is one worth having bookmarked. I've had some great Christmas bargains off there over the years

duvetfan · 12/08/2018 11:46

Talisin thanks, just ordered those trees. Perfect for hall windows. Thanks so much. How do you all find these bargains. I keep trying but someone always beats me to it. Thanks so much everyone. Grin

hmslfc · 12/08/2018 12:01

Just came on to echo what a previous post says about Amazon packaging, my junk drummer has just arrived with just an address sticker! Luckily my 7yo was in the loo Grin Looks fab though.

madvixen · 12/08/2018 12:05

Some nice wee bits in the Argos Clearance for stocking fillers. Although I might have to get the eyeshadow glitter pallette for me :-)

Good if you have a child like mine who only wants to play when screens are involved!
