Rudolph Days- what do you do?

I read on another thread about having a Rudolph day once a month on 25th- I hadn’t thought of that before but sounds a lovely way to put a little bit of Christmas sparkle into each month.
I’ve got a little Christmas pudding left over so was considering eating that and having a listen to Christmas Wonderland radio for a little while tomorrow. Could I ask for your ideas/ traditions?

Well said Fluffy and @ShowOfHands. Every bloomin year we go through this with people barging onto the CHRISTMAS area whinging about talking about Christmas too early and ruining it.

@beepbeeprichie asked a question looking for suggestions and has been met with derision from people who don’t know what they are talking about. If you aren’t going to answer the question and provide suggestions then bugger off to AIBU and start your own post.

So @Woodlanddreamer @JulianaBixby @ciaa @ScreamingValenta @user187656748 and @whattoweartomorrow if you don’t want to think abou, talk about or plan Christmas what are you doing in the Christmas area?

JuliannaBixby · 25/01/2018 10:54

Apologies @VivaJen I wasn't aware I was restricted to threads where I fully agree with the OP. Hmm Bugger off.

VivaJen · 25/01/2018 11:05

Of course not but the OP was asking for suggestions and traditions. You don't need to be in favour of the topic but if you aren't interested and don't have any suggestions or traditions and aren't going to contribute anything constructive then don't post. It's that simple.

JuliannaBixby · 25/01/2018 11:12

Luckily for me I don't give a monkey's what you think about where I can post.

BiddyPop · 25/01/2018 13:15

Adds self to show of hands supporting "Rudy Day" for prep (and maybe one tiny bit of peaceful magic for me - peaceful cup of tea while listening to the Wexford Carol) Xmas Grin

Yup, mostly about thinking and prepping here, along with 101 other things to think about and prep, like Showofhands sassy!

blacksmiths09 · 25/01/2018 16:27

Well I’m watching a Xmas film right now - Rudolf day or not!

Rudolph Days- what do you do?
TheHodgeoftheHedge · 25/01/2018 16:36

Seriously? I love Christmas but the rest of the year has enough lovely other things to celebrate.

blacksmiths09 · 25/01/2018 16:44

Why exactly are people complaining about people liking Christmas in the Christmas section?!?

woodlanddreamer · 25/01/2018 16:57

I must admit I don't notice what sections posts are in, I just look at "Active". I didn't realise you couldn't look at the Christmas section unless you wanted it to be Christmas every month. I love Christmas but I love it at Christmas time (& not too early Grin)

NoWordForFluffy · 25/01/2018 17:07

It's not about celebrating. Or wanting it to be Christmas every month. There's a fair amount of wilful misunderstanding on here!

It's prepping. Just being organised!

JuliannaBixby · 25/01/2018 17:07

Nobody complained @blacksmiths09 just expressed an opinion that's all

VivaJen · 25/01/2018 17:13

Love your fairy lights and candles Blacksmith

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 25/01/2018 17:14

Actually, just to be a pedant, that's not what the OP says at all... there's no mention whatsoever of prepping, but "putting a little bit of Christmas sparkle into each month" with eating Christmas pud and listening to Christmas music...

NoWordForFluffy · 25/01/2018 17:18

That's as maybe, but many of us have said that it isn't (for us) about that also.

ChristianGreysAnatomy · 25/01/2018 17:28

Jeesus wept.
Why not spend the 25th of each month collecting for a food bank or visiting a lonely neighbour. Leave poor bloody (imaginary, childish) Rudolph out of it.

Mrsmadevans · 25/01/2018 18:24

I never thought that the Christmas section would be infiltrated by Bah Humbuggers ! Shame on you ! I have not done anything remotely Rudolphus today but on Saturday I am determind to watch the Agatha Christie Christmas programme I recorded Christmas Eve. I did however do the rounds of the loved ones who have passed and removed the Christmas wreaths and put fresh flowers on them. That must count !

Mrsmadevans · 25/01/2018 18:28

Grey , I visit my elderly NDN every day and I do all their shopping and chores for nothing. I am kind . I think you will find us who believe in enjoying Christmas and Rudolph days are kind and do not deserve your terrible spelling and nastiness. In other words .....do go away and bother other people.

VivaJen · 25/01/2018 18:32

Absolutely MrsM and thank you for the reminder, I will need to do the same thing at the end of the month.

Mrsmadevans · 25/01/2018 19:19

You are very welcome my dear Jen.
I am in a good mood I like Rudolph days and it is Burns Night too!
A double celebration Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

SallyLockhartsDog · 25/01/2018 19:23

I'm about to have a cup of tea in my Christmas mug & then I will sort out my gift list and then write down all the food/recipes that went down really well.

All hail Rudolph

Mrsmadevans · 25/01/2018 19:27

All Hail! Xmas GrinXmas Grin
Sally will you share you extremely good things and your extremely bad things with us please?
I have already shared I am not buying a Yule log from Tesco this year it was so sickly
I will definitely be getting another stollen from Aldis it was just the best!!!

VivaJen · 25/01/2018 20:02

For me it was Delia’s sausage rolls (both veggie and traditional) everyone loved them!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/01/2018 21:20

Actually Rudolph is a fearful imposter who ramped into the scene in 1939 a full 102 years after TTNBC.
So the original 8 slog their guts out for over a century and old Red Nose steals their thunder Xmas Shock

How did the poor children get their presents without the light of Rudolphs nose?
My DParents were born in 1937 , I bet they got no presents till they were 3yo.

I'd look up a venison pie recipe if I wasn't vegetarian !

beepbeeprichie · 25/01/2018 21:45

Ooft. I didn’t think when I started a thread in the Christmas section it would be a AIBU style crucifixion!!!
I debated whether to come back on here and try to justify myself.... I don’t think I will.

Why don’t I just give to a food bank once a month or help an elderly neighbour? I’m not getting into a contest over kindness or generosity of time or money. I really just thought this board was fun Christmas chat!

Beep it is normally but every so often we get the tossers who want to upset us all. They fail . Forget it and carry on my dear. Nice thread .
