I’ve got ds a few small things but I’m stuck on what to get him for his main present.

He asked for a nerf nitro thing and some hot wheels stuff but grandparents have snaffled those ideas.

I’m stuck. His sister has a big present and a few small ones so I need to get him something wow but he has no clue when I ask him and everything on his Santa list has been purchased.

Help!! He likes cars, Lego (rarely) playing outside, minecraft on iPad etc

What's your budget?

ScaryMary81 · 08/12/2017 18:45

Xbox ps4 or switch

ineedamoreadultieradult · 08/12/2017 18:47

A Raspberry Pi and associated bits and bobs for creating things.

moreismore · 08/12/2017 18:49

What about a pogo stick or some stilts? A slackline setup in the garden? We got stuff like that at a similar age and played with it for years!

QueQueQue · 08/12/2017 18:51

My 8YO loved Personalised Match Attax cards www.toppsdirect.com/matchattax-2017-printme.html

Fitness tracker watches seem to be the new craze round here!

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 08/12/2017 18:53

Would a camera go down well? Does he have a 3ds or similar?

onemorecakeplease · 08/12/2017 18:56

All great suggestions thank you.
No set budget really but ideally £100 ish

What on earth is a raspberry pi?!

onemorecakeplease · 08/12/2017 18:59

He does spend more time on his iPad than I would like so trying to get away from screen type presents x

Bike?

onemorecakeplease · 08/12/2017 19:00

I think a camera would get broken - he does love his old kiddie zoom one and taking photos tho.
Maybe a year or so off getting a decent camera

Anki Overdrive? We’ve got one for our seven year old ds and it looks fantastic.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 08/12/2017 19:46

A cheaper version of a go pro to attach to his bike or scooter, then he can watch/edit the videos on his tablet? They are quite hard to break.

onemorecakeplease · 08/12/2017 19:49

Oh yes I saw those go pro things. Good idea will go look now!

DS has the Nikon Coolpix W100 which is drop proof and waterproof; very child friendly.

boredofmyoldname · 08/12/2017 19:52

How about tyre lights for his bike?

I've just got some JML Wheely brights for my 11yo as he doesn't know what ask for but spends a lot of time on his bike.

BigGapMum · 08/12/2017 19:52

Scalextrics?

Tiredmumno1 · 08/12/2017 19:52

A drone, music keyboard or a gaming chair?

Tiredmumno1 · 08/12/2017 19:53

Does he have the iPad mini?

onemorecakeplease · 08/12/2017 19:55

The scalextrix never got used I think actually I might sell it.

I feel like I’m buying something for the sake of it as it’s xmas but I don’t want him to be disappointed either!

I wish he knew what he wanted. There were 4 small things on his xmas list and one was a book.

He did actually ask for money this time to choose something so my dad has done that.

onemorecakeplease · 08/12/2017 19:56

No he has the Amazon fire tablet and plays minecraft, watches videos and music on there.

He has a keyboard which he rarely uses.

A drone sounds interesting but we have a lot of trees on our property which might be a bit awkward would it?

Tinselistacky · 08/12/2017 19:57

Ds9 has got an archery set for the garden!!

onemorecakeplease · 08/12/2017 19:59

Dh was looking at gaming chairs. He might read there but he rarely plays his ps3

He’s probably hang clothes on it!!

He likes Lego but tires of it once he’s built it once.

He loves hot wheels and plays with cars. Other than that he reads, uses tablet and goes on bike/scooter/buggy thing.

He does read a lot. I’ve bought him a spy series of books.
