A rubbish thread title but, well, it's 19 now!

20 days until Christmas, I'm imagining us all wrapping late at night like little festive elves readying ourselves for how excited everyone will be with their bargainous presents.

Any referral links to go on this separate thread please

Thank you to whoever posted whistlefish offer. My cards have now arrived and are beautiful!

Dozyoldtwonk · 10/12/2017 18:43

I have a couple of men to buy for but not a huge budget (£10-20 each); any links or recommendations? I was thinking some fancy socks but that’s as far as my ill little self can get today Hmm

LostMyRubySlippers · 10/12/2017 19:06

I have bought Charles tyrwhitt socks before- they often do a £10 off voucher, you could google for a code or someone on here might have a spare voucher you can use. Postage is £5 though I think

Pumpkintopf · 10/12/2017 19:15

@Dozyoldtwonk - Joules have nice socks, free delivery and 3 for 2 on at the moment-

oneday try looking for photo books on sites like groupon and wowcher - they are often set up for people to buy photobooks via a voucher and compleye within a timeframe rather than doing it right now.

Some sites will let you download software so you can do your book and not buy it until you're ready- so you would be able to get the rest of your book ready and just add the last pictures as you have them. Then you pay at the time so not guaranteed a good deal.

I think some sites like photobox do pay now finish later too - check on the moneysavingexpert photo deals page.

Ness1234 · 10/12/2017 19:24

Isle of Skye candles have free delivery in everything at the moment.

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2017 19:51

I've just twitched on a mini SNES for dh.

Dammit.

Got overexcited because I found one in stock

Serendipitystardust · 10/12/2017 20:04

Oneday I've just finished prepping a photo book with Cewe photo books - I've a few more to add in but provided its submitted by 18.12 it'll be here by xmas. I've used them for quite some time now and the quality is brilliant - there's usually a £10 off first photo book code around too.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 10/12/2017 20:57

It can’t just be me that has problems with photo books? Can it? Take ages to upload, doesn’t like some of them. I’ve tried so many times

Dolceandgabbana14 · 10/12/2017 21:03

Does anyone know if M&S still have the big tins of shortbread half price (£4.50 instead of £9)? And do they have chocolate in, or are they plain shortbread? I have a friend who's allergic to chocolate!!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 10/12/2017 21:10

Most of the biscuits were back up to full price today; barely any half price ones that I saw.

Dolceandgabbana14 · 10/12/2017 21:27

Nooooooo! I need a dozen tins of M&S half price shortbread tins Sad for neighbors, secret Santa and After School Clubs from the DC.

Where else can I get something similar? I haven't picked up any Christmas catalogues this year so I can't just flick through them to get ideas.

BluePlanetBaby · 10/12/2017 21:32

Could anyone recommend a fleece blanket for a child? Age 2, no character stuff, looking for ideas!

glenthebattleostrich · 10/12/2017 21:38

Dolce, Aldi have some lovely tins of shortbread.

GruffaloPants · 10/12/2017 21:45

@BluePlanetBaby Home Bargains have some nice fleece blankets. I got a blue one with white stars, there are other designs.

GruffaloPants · 10/12/2017 21:47

Anyone looking for Sylvanian Families stuff might like to know that the caravan is only £23 in John Lewis right now. I just twitched! It is £50-something on Amazon and everywhere else.

bunbunny · 10/12/2017 21:50

BluePlanet Asda are great for blankets - dc have had several of their christmas fleece ones over the years and both still sleep with them rather than duvets despite them having both and some non-christmas ones. They cost about £6 but they also have sherpa fleeces that are cream on one side and fleece/plush on the other which are bigger and warmer and also very nice. They've asked for more every year (and are now 12 and 9, they have enough!) Santa brought one for my mum the same year he brought one for everyone the first time we had them - she is old school M&S/John Lewis/likes quality stuff - and even she still uses hers and likes it.

Here's a selection of them - can recommend, they are very very soft if you get the micro plush ones and wash and wear well. Lots of different designs - christmas and all year, as well as plain colours...

Costco have great ones too, also very cheaply and very good quality - but you need to be a member to get them. There's also a much more limited selection of colours.

bunbunny · 10/12/2017 21:52

Serendipity and Oneday - several companies provide CeWe photobooks - including Jessops, Amazon and WHSmith - they have different offers on at different times... Might be useful if looking for an offer at a particular time!

woodwaj · 10/12/2017 21:59

RJ where did you get the snes mini from??

bunbunny · 10/12/2017 22:02

BluePlanetbaby - the other thing if you have a photo that you love - you can turn it into a blanket. Tesco Photo have theirs on offer at half price (£17.50 for the smaller ones) but the offer finishes tonight...

But other places have them on offer too if you look out for them - if your dd had a favourite toy or place or family picture etc, you could do a blanket with the picture on - would be pretty unique and could be very special... Some of them will put a collage of several photos on too.

DragonMamma · 10/12/2017 22:39

Can anybody recommend a decent Lego set for a 6.5yo? DS is starting to get in to it but I don’t want to get anything too big that will put him off building it so perhaps a smaller set?

RJnomore1 · 10/12/2017 22:41

Spotted on hotukdeals @woodwaj that Argos eBay had them in stock.

Worth keeping an eye as I think they have been coming and going. There just happened to be one in my local Argos when I looked. Don't think they show on the actual Argos site.

jaimelannistersgoldenhand · 10/12/2017 22:54

DragonMaman- My sons liked Lego Star Wars and Lego Ninjago sets at 6.5 years old.

hmslfc · 10/12/2017 22:56

DragonMamma My son was recently bought the 3in1 dinosaur set which he seriously enjoyed, (think it's rrp is about £12). Was a bit of a revelation for us too as we usually spend £50 odd on sets for him just to play with the minifigures Hmm

DragonMamma · 10/12/2017 23:52

Thanks for the tips. I had seen those 3 in 1 sets but didn’t know if they were any good for the money!
