A rubbish thread title but, well, it's 19 now!

20 days until Christmas, I'm imagining us all wrapping late at night like little festive elves readying ourselves for how excited everyone will be with their bargainous presents.

Any referral links to go on this separate thread please

My 11 yo dd is usually into fantasy books, but at the moment can’t get her head out of the Geek Girl series!

Hi,
I'm another lurker, I just wanted to recommend this globe from smyths for @theonlyoneiknow, I got it for my daughter and it seems to be great.
It gives different info about each country. national dish, language flag etc.

I just had a look at the Lottie doll Finn, and managed to stop myself from buying him. I noticed that a few of the clothes and accessory sets are half price, including the brownie uniform.

@ohmybob Definitely worth getting the micro bit with the battery, otherwise you can really only use it when plugged into the computer, which sort of ruins the point.

That said, there don't seem to be a lot of resources around for the micro bit, once he'd finished the few activities he did with it at code club it's remained in it's box :-( DD used hers lots at school but again hasn't touched it much since.

Raspberry pi looks like there might be a few more options, although it's more expensive.

Just to say it did take exactly 24 hrs... To the minute for the £6 Amazon credit promotion to be applied to my account!

Wiifitmama · 08/12/2017 14:11

I have an odd one I need help with. I am actually pretty much done with Christmas thanks to this thread. But a friend of ours's son (8 years old) had major and rare heart surgery this week. He is doing well and will be home for Christmas. We don't normally exchange presents but I think it would be nice to give him a present of something he can do while convalescing at home. The family is majorly into playing games (board games not video) together but they have so many that I would worry about duplicating. Any ideas? Bargains would be great!

FoofFighter · 08/12/2017 14:34

Dobble is great

ohmyblob · 08/12/2017 14:35

Thank you Where's and giggling, I'll get the Go version

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 08/12/2017 14:39

Theonlyoneiknow · 08/12/2017 14:56

TellMeItsNotTrue · 08/12/2017 15:14

Grr. Can I interest anyone in a boys black Nike zip up hoodie age 12-13? Amazon have sent the wrong size and I need it for tomorrow so going to have to go rl shopping in the morning!

Spam88 · 08/12/2017 15:32

tellme have you ordered from them before? They'd be great for DH's nan but there's no PayPal option 😕

hashtagelfie · 08/12/2017 15:39

wiifit

How about a different version of a game they probably already have? That way you are less likely to buy a duplicate version. This year I've bought ds(8) Pokémon monopoly even though we have the original monopoly.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 08/12/2017 15:42

Spam Yea it's a big company, people on here were buying their bargain items a few threads back Smile

macnab · 08/12/2017 15:54

Theonlyoneiknow Lidl are doing a globe, we got it a couple of years ago and although it's not interactive it's pretty nice and the kids like it (good price too)

details here

Spam88 · 08/12/2017 16:28

tellme great, thank you!

TellMeItsNotTrue · 08/12/2017 16:40

BlackAndWhite Smyths have the £60 lol surprise for delivery by the 15th if that helps

HERE

EverybodyKeepCool · 08/12/2017 17:13

Tesco in Long Eaton had a few of the £60 LOL things today. Also their toiletry gift sets such as Dove and Lynx are half price. One of the Lynx sets has earphones in and another had a Bluetooth shower speaker in so good teen presents or even a secret Santa

TroubledTribble28 · 08/12/2017 17:59

Anybody else having trouble getting the 1pound code to work on pewterhooter?

Spam88 · 08/12/2017 18:03

troubled yeah it worked for me earlier but I didn't have my purse handy and it won't work now

neddle · 08/12/2017 18:03

ANy ideas for a 3 year old girl for a main present? She's the youngest of five so we have a lot of stuff already.
She's shown an interest in my littlepony, but they look creepy to me (80s child!)

BrawneLamia · 08/12/2017 18:10

Neddle dressing up stuff, toy kitchen, Dr's set? My dd was just starting to get into imaginative play at 3. Or a balance bike or scooter?

tulipz · 08/12/2017 18:34

imip and hashtagelfie, thanks so much for books and baby doll boy suggestions, it's very useful!! :)

ShoppingBasket · 08/12/2017 19:07

Anyone have a toysrus code please, I want to buy the huge penguin teddy but feel 30pounds is a bit much 😂 surely I'd get a real one for that.
