What are you getting for your partner?

My partner also has a birthday very near Christmas, and I have no idea what to get him. He says clothes, but I don't want to do this for both Christmas and birthday. He is not very materialistic, and has lots of things he deems adequate, so would not appreciate a new watch for example. However I really want to show some appreciation as I've been really ill this year and he has taken a lot on without complaint! I would probably budget £200 for each Christmas and birthday

gemdrop84 · 28/11/2017 16:08

A ticket to see Paul Weller and a ticket for the Download Festival so he can watch Guns and Roses. Mine's not one for stuff either so hoping these he will enjoy much more.

Juanbablo · 28/11/2017 16:13

Two tickets to see Bowling For Soup. The gig date is actually two days before his birthday but I will have to think of something else for his birthday.

A dressing down.
A calendar.

Cracklesfire · 28/11/2017 16:22

I got him boots and a new coat. He usually asks for clothes but I figure better that than stuff he doesn't really want - I've done surprises before and a lot of it goes unused. Might get him a PS4 game or aftershave though as they're something I know he'll like.

Falconhoof1 · 28/11/2017 16:23

So far just aftershave. An expensive one though. And a chocolate orange!

Dustbunny1900 · 28/11/2017 16:32

My has everything, a birthday before Christmas and stacks of dosh which he loves spending on other people. He loves " original" presents A nightmare to buy for.
I don't know which will be birthday and which Christmas but he's getting...
Grid It for work ( has tools, is obsessively tidy and goes away a lot)
Autographs from his favourite team
Family photo
Work Socks
Probably get some nice chocolates too and maybe a T shirt/shirt.

One of his best presents was a set of cheap coasters on Amazon with album covers from his favourite band.

BarryTheKestrel · 28/11/2017 16:51

I'm stuck this year. I've got him trainers he wanted and a shirt that he liked but they didn't have in his size when he saw it. I have around £20 left of our small budget to buy bits but he's awkward to buy for.

goose1964 · 28/11/2017 17:52

A box of liqueur chocolates. He will have the rest in the summer as that will be his cricket watching paid for

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 28/11/2017 17:58

My husbands birthday is within the week before christmas.

He's getting a coffee machine with relevant accessories for his birthday from me. 2 pieces of art from etsy from DD.

Bluetooth speaker and bluetooth headphones for christmas from me.
Sticking/hamper of goodies from DD inc. Alcohol, chocs, novelty cup, socks, razor, key ring, soft toy, and other small bits. Did this last year and he loved it.

QueenOnAPlate · 28/11/2017 20:18
