Stocking fillers

Quick mn survey . . . do you wrap stocking fillers? Or is the stocking the wrapping?!

Failing to remember how mine were presented as a kid, and doing DD a stocking for the first time this year

No wrapping here. The stocking is enough and I can't stand the mess.

I think the stocking was the wrapping! DS is 5 and DD is 2, so this is the first year I’ve really had to do it for both of them.

I’m thinking a pack of smarties, a facecloth each, a nail polish for DS, plastic bracelets for DD. And a mashem each. I don’t know what else to put in - anyone any ideas?

We are away for Christmas so ideally something I could buy in Ireland and not cry about leaving behind if necessary...

Always wrapped or its over too quick.

My mum did a mix. She'd wrap Nice stuff that was in the stocking but wouldn't wrap any tat.

Mixed here- wrap a couple of things then satsuma, chocolate and maybe toothbrush remains unwrapped.
My dd is far too tiny for a stocking this year (but I'm doing one anyway cause I'm stupidly excited )- she's getting a rattle, toothbrush, jingly ball, satsuma and a buggy book

Toy animals, mini Lego sets, small books, sweets, top trumps/snap/card games, toy cars...

I love stockings :)

Disposable shit could include stickers, bath toy, bath bomb, comic, colouring or activity pad, crayons, chocolate coins, foam flyer, box of raisins, satsuma.

Other stuff could be novelty pants, slipper socks, novelty toothbrush, new book, mini hairbrush etc.

We wrap our stocking gifts but that’s because I’ll have a look in mine if my OH doesn’t hide it well enough and vice versa

@poooooooop yes I think it will be blue or orange for DS but I’ll have to watch him like a hawk with it he’s only just 5. He’s obsessed with it, always notices anyone who comes to the house with nice nails and as a treat I’ll paint his at the first day of half term so he can have half term nails for the week. Not all the buffing and filing and stuff, but a trim and one quick-dry coat and he’s made up!

@RatOnnaStick I love your ideas for disposable shit, especially the bath bombs and comics. Those would go down a storm here!

I wrap roughly in tissue paper, usually white or gold.

Deffo wrapped- the excitement lasts longer that way!

Tissue paper is good. Use a different colour fir each child if you have more than one.

I wrap in tissue paper too - much quicker than ordinary wrapping paper, and prolongs the emptying the stocking process.

Definitely wrapped in whatever paper father Christmas uses for their main present. My 2 only have presents from us - no family get them anything, so it means there's more to unwrap.

Not wrapped here (because they are always done at silly o’clock on Xmas eve and somehow it’s never occurred to me to wrap before hand (I’m often juggling gifts between stockings when things don’t fit! ) but loving the idea of tissue wrapping...

For those of you doing stockings for children, do you also do one for your DP and if so how do you explain that to DCs? My DH and I love doing stockings for each other but I wonder if we ought to stop before DCs are old enough to question why adults are getting a stocking, or because it just seems too obvious that if we make each other a stocking we must make theirs too?

My mum used to use red/green tissue paper and I'll do the same this year with my baby's stocking.

They'll just think that fc brought you both one too, and when they get older and realise that he's not real and you were doing them all along it's still something you can do
