Stocking fillers

Quick mn survey . . . do you wrap stocking fillers? Or is the stocking the wrapping?!

Failing to remember how mine were presented as a kid, and doing DD a stocking for the first time this year Grin

All wrapped here

BiddyPop · 23/11/2017 09:23

The stocking is the wrapping here. Then again, nothing that Santa delivers is wrapped in our house, any bigger gifts are just left beside the stocking.

Everything from everyone else is wrapped and under the tree, including something to DD from DH and I. (That's usually something practical like clothes).

Seems to be a pretty even split out there!

I like the tissue paper idea.

Cats you just explain that you make one for Daddy and vice versa. All kids know adults don't get brought a stocking from FC - but you just tell them you & Daddy wish you still got stockings so you make them for each other.

TheBlueMeaniesAreComing · 23/11/2017 11:28

Stockings a wrapped in the same paper as presents. Mine have Mickey and Minnie sacks instead of traditional stockings. This year it will have busy books, a selections box, two miniature surprise bags, lego mini figures for ds, rolls or mlp for dd1 and rubber ducks for dd2, a tub of sweets or chocolate lollies, colourings and colouring books, plus some little extras

TheScottishPlay · 23/11/2017 11:30

I wrap in Christmassy tissue paper but don't sellotape, then in the stocking.

Brokenbutbreathing · 23/11/2017 11:39

Yea always wrap to prolong the opening and make it more exciting. Yes to using the same wrap as Father Christmas which must be different to all the other presents. Contents: may I suggest a quick whip around the Pound Shop Grin We save money for the 'real' presents, and stockings are full of bits and pieces from the Pound Shop - fluffy socks for all, hair bits and nail varnish etc for a DD, small toys and balls etc for a DS. And then chocolate coins, tangerines, candy canes.

MinkowskisButterfly · 23/11/2017 11:41

I wrap most of it but not things like chocolate coins, chocolate Santa etc., the kids have the stockings before we go down stairs to the main presents.

whimsical1975 · 23/11/2017 12:37

Mixed! I don't wrap anything edible

Shnazzyshot · 23/11/2017 14:12

I wrap stocking presents. Although I like the tissue paper idea so might do that this year.

This is what I've got this year
Dd(6)
Character knickers
Character socks
Kinder egg
Fruit shoot (they drink water any other day so a huge treat for them)
Glow sticks
Lib balm
Spy pens
Outfit for barbie
2x Christmas craft
Christmas comic
Stamp set
Dinosaur puzzle
Annual

DS(4)
Character pants
Chcrater socks
Kinder egg
Fruit shoot
Joke set (fake poo ect)
Santa sleigh glider (Like the aeroplane)
2x Christmas crafts
Christmas comic
Annual
Night light
Novelty plasters

Making up the stockings is my favourite part Grin

Juanbablo · 23/11/2017 14:34

We wrap. They get a sack rather than a stocking but it's just small things in it.

VivaLeBeaver · 23/11/2017 14:39

Knickers
Socks
A book
Lip balm
Nail varnish
Lucky charm cereal
Chocolate

All wrapped.

MrsPear · 23/11/2017 15:40

Wrapped in guady cheap paper - they have each have different paper so I can remember whose is whose - and then in a sack. It gives me more time to come to Grin

MrsPear · 23/11/2017 15:42

Oh and I bought 3 rolls of paper - one each for FC and one for presents from us which is much nicer.

MuddlingThroughLife · 24/11/2017 09:56

Everything in the house gets wrapped. Even the tiniest of stocking fillers. If it ain't wrapped, it ain't a present!
