I'm going to mention again about Laptops.
If anyone is after a 'budget' option and doesn't have £300..
After research last year and now this.. I was looking at the 'HP Stream' 11" - Usually around £229 there are very regular deals around £150.
Currently they are £159.99 everywhere BUT Currys has the 14" version at £179.99 which is pretty much unheard of.
If you 'sign up' ( then cancel ) the monthly aftercare cost of £3.49 a month you'll get an extra £15 off
So i paid £164.99 for the 14" HP Stream
Unit wise, it's very much 'good enough' for those who need to do browsing, watching and bits of homework on.

escape - I have the HP stream and so does DH. Certainly good enough for everyday stuff- Is the one you have the one with the touch screen? Mine is Dh´s isn´t. I strongly suspect mine was sold to me at the wrong price as it was pretty much the same as DHs. I am now looking at one for DD but can only find the model DH has.

It is limited due to the size of its memory. I do any work or photos onto a memory stick but it´s not bad at all for everyday internet use, little word processing jobs. It´s aimed at teenage kids for homework and such I think. D uses it and he is an academic. Again, he just does all his work onto an external hard drive. I think you can put a 32GB memory card in it but I haven´t.

I've pretty much missed two threads!!! Is there anything worth going back for on the last one? I have grandparents, 4yo DD and OH still to buy for???

Anyone got any ideas for an elderly lady who I normally buy Christmas cake for but has just been diagnosed as diabetic? She's pretty fussy foodwise and in general. Doesn't like coffee or chocolate or cheese etc. Anyone know where I could get some nice diabetic shortbread or something? And a nice tin of normal tea? Any other ideas?
