Which of these is nicer?

Further to my handbag thread where everyone was very helpful, I am now trying to decide between these two bags for my best friend.
She's in her late 20s and has a professional job. I like the blue... but not sure if that's just my love of highly patterned things swaying me.
Which would you prefer to receive? She's been such a good friend this year so I want to get her something lovely.

The brown one. The blue patterned on is all a bit much.

ohtheholidays · 20/11/2017 22:28

The brown one is gorgeous and likely to go with more.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 20/11/2017 22:29

What’s her usual style OP?

Blodplod · 20/11/2017 22:29

Sorry OP, I must be a completely different demographic from your appeal but neither of those bags are speaking ‘professional’ or ‘lovely’ to me. Though I’m pretty sure they’ll be plenty along who’ll disagree and give you a more retrospective opinion.

SparklingSnowfall · 20/11/2017 22:32

Ooh no OP, is this definitely the sort of thing she likes?

WaitingForSunday17 · 20/11/2017 22:32

Well she's quite fashionable. I hate the word quirky but I guess some of her things are a little quirky but they suit her.
I don't know if she'd use it for work particularly. She mentioned she'd like a new bag. She's had a baby and the only bag I've seen her with for a while has been a changing one!

Neither.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 20/11/2017 22:34

Unless you are certain that these are her style I would avoid like the plague.
They are both a little on the busy side.

Mrsmadevans · 20/11/2017 22:36

I am so sorry Waiting but I don't like either if them . Have you similar tastes to her in clothes and accessories? If so then go for what you like.

mistermagpie · 20/11/2017 22:37

I’m neither late 20s, nor especially fashionable so feel free to ignore, but the blue one is just plain horrible and the brown one seems a bit frumpy.

MyKingdomForBrie · 20/11/2017 22:38

I like the brown.

WaitingForSunday17 · 20/11/2017 22:41

Hmm. See this is why it's so hard choosing. I guess I didn't want to get just a plain boring bag as it just looks a bit like 'I grabbed any old brown / black bag and gave it you you' but maybe that would be better than her hating it!
Will keep looking.

What about any of these? All zara and under 30 quid.

Im sorry OP i have to agree with PPs that they aren’t nice bags.

However if you KNOW that she likes that particular brand then go for it as it’s all rather ‘out there’

A nice bag is a lovely gift and they aren’t cheap so it would be a shame to not get it right

NapQueen · 20/11/2017 22:42

And this one

How about something like this OP? Colourful but not too busy.

I will go and look at Zara!

PickleSarnie · 20/11/2017 22:44

I really dont like either. But your friend might love them. Only you would know. If you're not 100% sure I'd go for a safer option like the ones NapQueen posted

WaitingForSunday17 · 20/11/2017 22:46

Quite like this? But why is it so short?!

What about this one OP. www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/women/accessories/dark-pink-leather-shopper-bag/p/11476517 (Sorry - can’t do clicky links).

WaitingForSunday17 · 20/11/2017 22:46

Ah can't see on this photo. But on the photo on the model it's practically in her armpit!

There a both very...unique. Tread carefully. As a general rule buy something very structured (I.e. Boxy) with very few imbelishments/patches of different materials if you are going to go for a bald pattern.

mistermagpie · 20/11/2017 22:49

Those Zara ones are all great, pick one of those!

WaitingForSunday17 · 20/11/2017 22:49

And this.
Zara have some great things. I am tempted for myself!
