What are you putting in your 6 year olds stocking?

Growing up I always had things like chocolate, sweets, socks etc in my stocking

DSD (almost 6) doesn't eat chocolate or sweets. We've got some paw patrol socks to stick in her stocking but we're stuck with what else to put in there.

What are you putting in / have you put in in the past?

Mines are much older now but;

Cheap jewellery - loads on eBay and amazon for less than £1
I always put in headphones

My dd 6 is getting an activity book and pencils to keep her busy aswell as sweets a drink and a cereal bar.

Anything that I normally say no too. Past favourites have been a can of fizzy drink, small pack of cereal, yoghurt covered fruit snacks, magazine.

Crafty bits, glittery pipe cleaners, stickers, tape, glue sticks.

I stopped buying colouring books as they lost interest after a couple of pages but printed out a few pictures or themed puzzles to keep the busy. Just roll up and tie with a bit of ribbon.

Audiobook CD.

So far this year:

Water gun (bought in sale)
Self tying water bombs (also bought in sale)
Pringles (selection pack in shape of a cracker)
Colouring pencils with her name printed on.
NERF rebelle replacement bullets that i found in a cheap shop.
Chocolate reindeer.

My DD is 6.
There will be chocolate in there, and probably some fudge (homemade - I have to be careful to keep any e). In the past I have put in a gingerbread man, not sure if I will do that this year.

Nice, "grown up" colouring pens, and some tracing paper. A paperback book, a mini jigsaw, a glowstick torch, a small cuddly toy. A hair bow. I am also considering some Christmassy socks or tights. Next had good ones last year, but I haven't seen any I like this year.

I have to be careful to keep any extra fudge well hidden, by eating it myself as soon as I have made it

Toys. Santa brings the toys in the stocking. The more expensive stuff under the tree Mummy and Daddy contribute toward. That's why some children get "more expensive" stuff under the tree than others.

I'd also like to get him a bigger cup than the small IKEA ones we have & maybe a notebook... But DH keeps commenting that I've got them lots of things so I might have to be a bit sneaky...!

well, In our house stocking gifts don't necessarily have to fit in the stocking but can be small gifts leaning up against etc

So far I've picked up my 5 and 6 yr old boys these assorted stocking bits

In our house, presents under the tree come from us, stocking contents from Santa. So things like a slinky, personalised pencils, a toy with a face of some description, harmonica, Jacobs ladder - all that kind of crap that could have been made by elves 😊

My daughter (6) is getting socks , flannel , chocolate , a satsuma ,Jojo bow and either a hatchimal blind bag or a nom nom .

Right. I have to intervene. None of these stockings are right. It's not a stocking unless there's at least one satsuma (or mandarin, or similar) in it. Or memorably one year when mum had trouble finding stuff for my stocking: 5 satsumas. Also: Torch.

I will add though - plastic snow globe, one of those disks on strings that you pull at each end and it whizzes, kalaedoscope.

These are great ideas for my 6 year old . However, I have never done stockings - we always had a sack with all of the presents from Santa - big and small . Do you all do a stocking from ' Santa' then say the main presents are from you and leave them in a different place?
Is this why my child asked why I didn't buy her anything?
