@tellmeitsnottrue thanks for the info on the hotel chocolat boxes, I was worried they wouldn't be suitable for gifts. Have just ordered my first one, once it's here I'll see what it's like and maybe order a couple more (diff email addresses) will be good for a minding for some couples I know.

I'm heading into town today (doesn't happen often as I'm disabled and it's a bloody farce!) any barganous shops I need to check out?

I've also heard that b&m have 'chip' mugs in, boxed for £3.99. That's cheaper than Asda and primark had them and they sold out in those stores really quickly.

EverybodyKeepCool · 20/10/2017 12:08

Just had a Toys R Us brochure through the door. They are doing a free £10 gift card when you spend £100+ plus free Lego cards with every £10 you spend. 3 for 2 on LOL fizz balls, buy 1 get 1 half price on all Pokémon toys, 20% off Knex, free Need scope when you spend £20 on Nerf plus loads more stuff

Aworldofmyown · 20/10/2017 12:09

I bought 2 of the B&M mugs last week - they are fab for the price. However, as scarce as hens teeth!

TheImprobableGirl · 20/10/2017 12:13

Big thank you @insertimaginativeusername

After mildly shady car-park dealings I am now the happy owner of a soon-to-be delirious 7 year old and an L.O.L Big Surprise!

Found it also very lovely that she only wanted Face Value so Flowers for being a lovely person Grin

OhHolyFuck · 20/10/2017 12:21

My matalan pjs just arrived, little bit disappointed tbh, they're very thin like tshirt material

FridgeCut · 20/10/2017 12:25

John Lewis have 25% off some of their own brand toys, ordered a really nice train set (wooden) for a good price. Worth a look! www.johnlewis.com/browse/special-offers/toys-special-offers/john-lewis/_/N-ei7Z1z141il

PerfumeIsAMessage · 20/10/2017 12:26

Itold- I just looked at the sale stuff on LisaAngel as I wasn't sure of the quality, but may well venture further into the site now I've seen how lovely the stuff is!

I've just bought a truckload of ribbons and wrappy bits from ebay.com (thanks to whoever recommended earlier in the week) 25 YARDS of ribbon for about a dollar and free delivery. 300 snowflakes for 89c etc etc. I like to go a bit poncetastic with my wrapping and love the Cox and Cox style stuff- but this is the same and costs about 1/50th of what you'd pay from C/C.

TheImprobableGirl · 20/10/2017 12:29

OhHoly do they look like they’d hold up ok in the wash? Thinness isn’t a problem as my two get so warm wrapped up but shrinking clothes annoys me!

MissRainbowBrite · 20/10/2017 12:29

@Juliecloud IM45 is the Boden code for 27%, still working at the minute.

WhyamIBoredathome · 20/10/2017 12:30

diefricken thanks for H+M code, I need to order my boy a coat today so that works out perfectly!

Juliecloud · 20/10/2017 12:30

Thank you missrainbowbrite!

WhyamIBoredathome · 20/10/2017 12:32

For curiosity, can someone please explain the big loL thing? I watched an unboxing on YouTube but I don't get it! It seemed to be lots of kinder egg type stuff inside bathbombs? Have I missed something?

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 20/10/2017 12:32

Thanks Perfume!

Rockhopper81 · 20/10/2017 12:36

@wornoutboots

I asked a similar question about baskets for hampers and IKEA was suggested, so going to have a look there. I'm also going to have a look at The Range, as that's another shop
I don't really need an excuse to look around! Will also try B&M.

WhyamIBoredathome · 20/10/2017 12:36

itoldyou that would be a good plan but whatever we get has to be transported in baggage so a football probably not ideal. We arrive Xmas eve so can't buy once we get there. I suppose we could transport deflated but I'd rather not have to take a Pp then inflate and wrap late on Xmas eve.

RedBlu · 20/10/2017 12:37

Re the Hotel Chocolat Boxes, whilst on the outside they don’t really give away the fact they are tasting boxes (apart from small writing on the back), inside there is a big leaflet that explains how it is a tasting box.

I have removed it from mine as it is intended to be a gift however the dilemma is that the information regarding the fact it’s a tasting subscription box is double sided with the “menu” of what chocolate is what.....

So whoever I give it to is not going to know what the chocolates are or they know it’s a subscription box....

WhyamIBoredathome · 20/10/2017 12:40

billwagglestaff have a look at decathlon for scooters. They are not much heavier than micro ones, (about 500g) most have abec 5 bearings same as micro. We had a look instore and quality seemed decent. Prices vary by model but they are about half the price of micro so DS will have one of those for his birthday as he's getting an expensive bike for Xmas the week before!

Carrie76 · 20/10/2017 12:45

@Billwagglestaff definitely do with a micro scooter. They’re fab and last forever! We have two, one is 6 years old and on the third child. We replaced the break on it but that’s in it. My guys are big into scooters so they are used daily and really stand the test of time. There’s 15% then at the moment

Carrie76 · 20/10/2017 12:49

Whyamiboredathome how about looking on sports direct for a football jersey or pjs. M&S do lovely football pjs. If he’s anything like my DS they don’t really care about the team if it’s from a different country. So maybe a premier league team or a Spanish team.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 20/10/2017 12:53

LetThere I changed mine to 12 week subscription just to give myself more time in case I forgot because there is a lot going on offline at the moment, I always worry with subscriptions that I will forget to cancel

Llama well done, disabled here too and rarely go to physical shops

RedBlu could you sellotape it to the lid so only menu showing? Haven't opened ours, they are just for us for chocolate over Christmas

fleabagmonkey · 20/10/2017 13:10

Really sorry if this has already been mentioned but Argos are selling a Fingerlings set with monkey bars for £29.99 (down from £34.99) The Argos one comes with a blue monkey and a pink one whereas the exact same looking set in Smyths only has the one pink monkey! I picked one up from my Argos today and my 2 can share it.

inchoccyheaven · 20/10/2017 13:17

Thanks to all that contacted me about a next referal hopefully now sorted. :)

SockEatingMonster · 20/10/2017 13:19

Thank you so, so much @OhHolyFuck Flowers I have just ordered one from here

DS will LOVE it

RedBlu · 20/10/2017 13:22

TellMe - nope. It’s a big double sided sheet. I think I am just going to put it back in and seal the box. Granted they will know it’s a tasting box but it’s still a nice gift and it’s better than having to play chocolate roulette as there is no menu!

Haudyerwheesht · 20/10/2017 13:24

@whyamiboredathome most footballs you buy online don't come inflated so would be easy to carry in baggage and then inflate once there? You could buy a pump to go with it but I suspect he'd probably have one already. Ds has asked for a champions league football - he already has 17 footballs and genuinely is delighted when he gets another....

Other ideas

this skills set but not sure how big it is boxed up

Any of the things in these 2 pics

Also Aldi currently have agility ladders and hurdles in for £6 each and they're relatively small.

You can also make a football card up of him here
