Unusual advent calendars....

DH has bought himself a craft ale advent calendar (£35)

I'd like to treat myself to an unusual one to rival his, but don't know where to start. No gin, wine or cheese, as I'm not a fan. Anyone seen any unusual ones about please? Someone mentioned a Pringles one which looks fun...

I'm buying the Kellogs cereal one for DD (15.6)

There's a Pork Scratchings one ( if you like that sort of thing!) Xmas Grin

IamPickleRick · 13/10/2017 14:11

I am after a good one this year too. Non chocolate. I have seen quite a few alcohol ones around but I'd like a Lush one or a cosmetic one perhaps.

Justchillaxing · 13/10/2017 14:14

There are lots of beauty ones - there's a thread somewhere ...

I'm looking for one for dd aged 16 .. I know she'd like a beauty one but I just can't afford £35 upwards ... May make one myself but unsure how to wrap it/ what to attach to??

LoudestRoar · 13/10/2017 14:15

Think 70 has won already, a pork scratching one!!??

Snaffling pig pork Scratchings. Yum!

lilydaisyrose · 13/10/2017 16:05

Apparently Asda is bringing out a cheese one!

doris9034 · 13/10/2017 16:06

I make them - so you can have anything you want! I've done miniatures, nail polish, promise/treat cards, small Lush items... this year I'm doing a hot wheels cars one ....

Baileys Advent Calendar

Chaznip · 13/10/2017 16:09

I had a Yankee candle one last year. 4 or 5 different types, lovely Christmas smells.

My OH had a jelly bean one with 24 different flavours and it was the highlight of our daysGrin

If you have some spare cash how about this one from Elemis:

www.elemis.com/elemis-advent-calendar.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2JOAt_Xt1gIVjRobCh0Cmgr0EAAYASAAEgI5OfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Decent size products and they are really good.

LoudestRoar · 13/10/2017 16:46

I've gone for the pork scratching one. If I was into beauty products, the Elemis one looks fab. Definitely don't have that much spare cash as well, but it does look good

Snacking pig is great, I got one for dh last year 👍🏻

SootSprite · 14/10/2017 14:17

Snaffling pig Hmm

Brillenbar · 14/10/2017 14:36

I was thinking of making a hot chocolate themed one for my eldest - I kept my m and s beauty advent calendar from last year and can reuse the boxes. So other than the obvious hot chocolate powders and marshmallows other thoughts are mini gingerbread men. Peppermint sticks, maybe some of those chocolate spoons. Any other ideas?

LoudestRoar · 14/10/2017 14:50

A note in one, directing him to where you've hidden him a new mug?

OP posts:
LoudestRoar · 14/10/2017 14:51

And some spices, like cinnamon sticks?

RafikiIsTheBest · 14/10/2017 15:11

I like the hot chocolate idea.
Could do some of those mini hot chocolates in different flavours. Costco or other places usually sell multipacks of flavoured syrup to add to hot drinks. We love squirty cream with hot choc, maybe a note in one of the boxes to look in the back of the fridge? Other toppings... maybe some mini packets of maltesers? Choc sprinkles?
I'm thinking hot chocolate for family to share, and a cereal one each.
Normally do lego ones but last few years they've fallen short for the price IMO and we're struggling a bit this year.

RafikiIsTheBest · 14/10/2017 15:12

Costa not costco... Doh! Although I wouldn't be surprised to see them in costco!

ConstantlyCooking · 14/10/2017 15:17

Justchillaxing Superdrug have some nice make up ones around the £15 to £20. I bought one for DD to add to the Lindt one she usually has. I just re-fill a lovely cardboard Lindt calendar I bought years ago but this year I might splash out on the Matalan wooden calendar.

ohmyblob · 14/10/2017 16:13

I've got the Snaffling Pig one for DS1(19), DS2(11) has the Lego Star Wars one but last year's wasn't quite as good as previous ones

snowmanshoes · 14/10/2017 16:15

They've got the pringles one in b and m bargains, I picked up a swizzels sweets one for my dd 6 and for the price (£9.99) I thought it was brill as its a house design made from that really sturdy cardboard with little boxes that I can refill for the next few years hopefully.

IAmTheDragon · 14/10/2017 16:16

Following with interest - I'd love a good beauty one!

SP00KYLilBucket1 · 14/10/2017 17:40

Not sure if it's been said but I saw a pringles one on Facebook.
