Welcome one and all, see post two for links.

This Christmas we will mostly be watching the children spinning in bilibos with their head torches on and we will be drinking pact coffee in our Emma Bridgewater polka dot mugs

ChoccyJules · 10/10/2017 22:39

I've just tried producing a referral link on my Quidco account. It generated this one www.quidco.com/user/1015/2524345/ after I 'chose' how to split the £20 (it gave various permutations to choose from), and then when chose, clearly stated

'For every successful referral:
You are receiving £10.00 and sharing £10.00 with your friends

However, each of us would only get the £10 if the person using the referral link then went on to shop and earn at least £5, as it clearly states 'Remember, your friend has to earn £5 cashback before you receive your bonus, so be sure to encourage them to shop after they've joined.'

I think the steps to generate the code could be a bit confusing for some and I think it would be possible that someone could inadvertently have left the setting at £20 for themselves. I also think it isn't likely that the person using the link will see 'their' £10 until they make enough purchase to earn £5 cashback.

Also, could it be the £20 each that the previous poster mentioned was genuine at that time (I seem to recall the other day, mention of Quidco doubling rates for referral for one day)? Anyhow, it would be good to give the other poster the benefit of the doubt until they can check what they did/believe they did and hopefully sort any problem there may have been..

slithytove · 10/10/2017 22:44

Can I just say I also posted my quidco link - I did not realise there was any cash back - let alone that it was for us to decide how much! So maybe blitz made the same mistake.

Please don't use my link, I've reported it until I can figure out this referral thing!

butterflymum · 10/10/2017 22:47

Forgot why I was originally going to post - I have a £5 off £30 Lakeland voucher that looks to be single use, so first to PM me can have it.

slithytove · 10/10/2017 22:48

Ok I've just gone into mine and it is definitely set at £10 and £10, but it's not cashback it's getting £10 into the account following the referee earning £5.

Maybe it was doubled the other day? So £20 each?

My referral link is

Tattybogle89 my DS asked for one of those password journals for Christmas 2014. It was the only thing that he asked Father Christmas for that year and, aged 9, he still plays with it now. However, like your DS, he has started asking for one in 'boys' colours and I have noticed that it gets hidden when he has friends over Sad. I have considered finding one of the Monster High ones on eBay, replacing the notepad and spray painting the front. Would that work for your DS if you can't find a better alternative? It does make me feel sad that we have to go to these lengths though.

Notlongnow1 · 10/10/2017 23:19

Anyone seen any go jetters bargains by any chance? We already have the talking Ubercorn.

Coldilox · 10/10/2017 23:22

I had a look too, seems clear when you know what to look for that it's £20 to split, but maybe if doing it in a hurry you might get it confused? Hope so.

Here's my link, £10 each

Quidco

bunningsbunny · 10/10/2017 23:23

I've just had an email from poundshop.com to say that they now have their Christmas collection in.

There are some cute bits and bobs - I like the look of the [[https://www.poundshop.com/christmas-cupcake-storage-container-penguin-1.html cupcake storage containers] in assorted christmassy designs. Just can't work out if they are diddy and just big enough for a single cupcake or big enough for several! Either way, I think they could make cute presents, either for christmas eve boxes or to go in stockings (if single cupcake sized!) or just as general presents, maybe with sweets or stationery bits in for a teacher present.

And they have all sorts of the usual online poundshop type stuff in, from a couple of bits of Brazilian L'Occitaine to star wars toothbrushes, stationery, sweets, etc etc.

Blizy · 10/10/2017 23:32

Oh my god! I am so sorry, I didn't realise that I had to decide how much cash back I share. I don't see an option on my Quidco in order to do so?
I shared my referral link in good faith, it was in no way meant scam or dupe anyone, I am truly mortified that people think I would do this from badness Sad
I'm much too tired to have a proper look around the quidco page to see where I've gone wrong, I'll be back in the morning.
Again I'm so very sorry for any upset I've caused, I have also reported my post.

Blizy · 10/10/2017 23:41

Can I also say when I shared my link, I had no idea that I had to split the money myself, I've just generated another referral and this is what happened before.

Blizy · 10/10/2017 23:43

It seems I've assumed that myself and the person I've referred would get £20. It didn't give me any option to split, can anyone shed some light in this? I am using the quidco iPhone app if that makes any difference.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2017 23:59

The app doesn’t make it clear at all. I generated a link yesterday without knowing you could choose a split either. Blush

FireflyGirl · 11/10/2017 00:47

@bunny those cupcake containers are 12cm x 20cm x 20cm. I'd imagine they fit more than one cupcake in! Grin

bunningsbunny · 11/10/2017 00:57

firefly Doh! They've changed the site - used to show the details without the need to expand them to see them, I was busy scrolling down to see if they were still there and didn't spot the details option on the side!

Looks like a good size for a giant dream cupcake to be - or maybe one of those giant cookies you see occasionally... Grin

bunningsbunny · 11/10/2017 00:58

firefly meant to say thanks for the pointer - will teach me to skim pages in a hurry!

TheDrsDocMartens · 11/10/2017 01:47

£10 off £40 spend on books on amazon if you’ve a student account.

This is the first year I’m ahead on my Dads presents rather than scrabbling around late December

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 11/10/2017 07:17

I agree with Blitzy it is not clear on the app at all and I do not get the chance to ‘split’ the cash before I can refer. Might be different on a PC but not on a phone. Easy mistake to make.

LikeSilver · 11/10/2017 08:05

I have just over £40 worth of stuff in my body shop basket but I've tried three times with the £20 off code and it keeps saying it's invalid. It's mostly sale items in my basket but I've read here that others have used it on sale items, right? Confused

McSleepy · 11/10/2017 08:08

Just had my EB dispatch email!

Freezingwinter · 11/10/2017 08:23

Home Bargains have Letter to Santa book rrp says 9.99 but it's 1.99 in there. It comes with paper and stickers for a letter, plus the book itself is really lovely!

ShoppingBasket · 11/10/2017 08:31

Can anyone recommend a dinosaur book for a 9 year old - factual but a bit unusual to the norm as he has some of those books already. Thanks
