Biddy, I name-changed from initials HH!

ConstantlyCooking · 25/07/2017 17:26

Fridge could you link to your cinnamons rolls recipe please?

I normally buy them from IKEA but Iwould like to try homemade Grin

FridgeCut · 25/07/2017 17:48

thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/cinammon_rolls_/
blog.kitchenmage.com/2011/01/small-batch-pioneer-womans-cinnamon-rolls.html

So the first link is the recipe but it makes like ten batches, which is fine if you are gifting them or you have freezer space. I follow the quantities from the second.

I buy disposable tins from Wilko to make them in, I make the dough and then stick it in the fridge over night, roll sprinkle, cut, stick in tin to prove and bake them the next morning. Christmas morning I am up doing that while people snooze as I am mad :)

ConstantlyCooking · 25/07/2017 18:29

thank you. I must try that out soon x

FridgeCut · 25/07/2017 18:39

It seems fiddly, but it isn't too bad and they are more than worth it :)

GinYummy · 25/07/2017 21:44

Oh fridge they sound yummy!

OhOurBilly · 25/07/2017 22:05

Those sound amazing! I have a mince pie sponge cake recipe which my sister mither for from about September, it I'm definitely bookmarking that link! Thank you f3idfe excellent shout on the disposal tins too!

Urgh just had a arguement with Amazon after I purchased two items from
A market place seller for
Less than £5 each thengot
Charge currency conversion of £30

After half an hour back and forth of Amazon saying it wasn't their fault I've got half the moeny back!

That's shit. If you buy from Amazon you expect the transaction to be in GBP. I'd be involving Trading Standards and pushing for the full amount.

Wheelycote · 26/07/2017 07:34

Sprout well done! With Amazon. Not cool on their part at all

tootsieglitterballs · 26/07/2017 08:20

@SideOrderofSprouts seriously?? I had no idea that even happened on amazon. Shall keep and eye on who I buy from in future. I wonder if using a CC that is fee free for abroad transactions would stop there being a fee?

I once took out an ad on Facebook , and when I got my bill through, I'd been charged about £7 in fees as it was based in USA - I was furious as nowhere had they stated I'd be paying in dollars ... they've since changed it to be displayed in dollars now, but really peeved me at the time.

BiddyPop · 26/07/2017 10:29

OMG Fridgecut those look aMAZing!! [drool] I actually bought similar tinfoil pans in Tesco this week to cook veggies on top of the BBQ - but I may need to sacrifice my plans to get healthier in aid of those rolls!!

Fluffy - A different reason for being familiar then - yes, I recognize those initials alright, but probably I mixed you up with ConstantlyCooking (or ConstantlyWorking?).

Ouch at all those currency issues though.

FridgeCut · 26/07/2017 11:36

Biddy - I have to make them for DH for his birthday in February, and anyone else's birthday. I am quite a keen baker so the children and family are allowed to request whatever they like for their birthday / special occasion. Often it is cinammon rolls! Though DS is 4 and had preschool grad last week and requested lemon and poppy seed, he loves it!

SideOrderofSprouts · 26/07/2017 12:17

Yes!! The num noms
Have now worked out at costing me £12.50
Each thing which I can deal with as I would probably have paid that anyway. But not £40
For
Both!

Yes I'll be sticking to
Amazon itself in future I thinn

Does anyone know the best place for gorgeous looking, personalised stockings?

HairsprayBabe · 27/07/2017 08:07

Hello all Xmas Grin

Just got back from Cardiff, bout welsh uncle (DMs BIL) a little after dinner pressie - slate coasters with reindeer on them that have "Happy Christmas" in welsh carved around the edge!

Just added it to my spreadsheet Grin

DDad just text me to let me know the Victoria's (plums) are ripe in the garden and he will be bringing me a large bucket of them at the weekend so I can get on with my festive chutney this weekend too!

Then we are off on our summer hols next Thursday, so will try and pick up a few more unusual bits and bobs that will be good either in hampers or for after dinner pressies/stocking stuffers!

tootsieglitterballs · 27/07/2017 08:54

@BlueIsYou following that! Struggling to find ones that are lovely, but a bit different!

AnyFarrahFowler · 27/07/2017 08:56

How exciting that there's only 150 days to go! Grin

AnyFarrahFowler · 27/07/2017 09:02

BlueIsYou You've probably already looked on Not On The High Street, but I had a little look the other day and there's a few nice ones on there with 20-30% off.

FridgeCut · 27/07/2017 09:21

Ooh Hairspray, your hampers are always such works of art. I wonder if I can find some wild plums and make some victorian chutney.

HairsprayBabe · 27/07/2017 09:27

Oooh thanks "Fridge" Xmas Blush

I was going to pair them back a bit this year but I already have my sights set on a few things I haven't tried making before and currently my list is almost 30 items long!
