I bet that's an interesting job, Sprouts. And you get to wear a white coat all day!

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/07/2017 21:17

Good luck ladies. I haven't worn a lab coat since I left uni - nearly 30 years ago Shock. I loved my lab coat.

Having a crappy day. DH working away, DD1 went back to uni yesterday, DD2 is out and DS is in bed. NDN has gone a bit batshit and has suddenly got territorial - I'd start a parking thread but I just don't have the diagram skills headspace. I've also had a recall from my mammogram and I'm away to get some advice on _Chat.

Sod the diet I'm breaking out the ice cream Smile and working on my crochet.

A white coat would hide a multitude of
Sins!

Good luck with your interviews Sprouts and Biddypop. I hope you ace it!

73kittycat73 · 10/07/2017 23:48

Sorry to hear that TheWoollybacksWife. I really hope everything goes OK for you. Enjoy the icecream!

Did anyone ever watch Green Wing? It was a Channel 4 comedy about a hospital. A sort of British Scrubs. Me and my little one at the time absolutely cracked up at one particular scene and used to imitate it all the time. It was about a 'swishing coat':

NoWordForFluffy · 11/07/2017 07:16

I hope everything is OK, Woolly. Did they say what the reason for the recall is? When are you going back?

What flavour ice cream did you have? I rarely have ice cream. Should rectify that!

BiddyPop · 11/07/2017 10:01

Woolly I hope it is not a serious matter they are recalling you for - and that the rest of the family start minding you too. Crochet sounds like a good way to while away the time and ignore silly neighbours (I hope you were able to get out this morning).

Sprouts a lab coat sounds ACE!! Really good luck tomorrow.

KittyCat we loved the Green Wing in our house!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/07/2017 10:19

I'm really hoping it's got something to do with not getting a clear enough picture as a result of poor positioning due to my frozen shoulder, but the technician seemed happy enough with the plates she took. The appointment is Friday so not too long to wait.

It was Cornish ice cream and strawberry sauce and I've compounded my fall off the wagon with porridge this morning. It was bloody lovely too.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/07/2017 10:56

At least it isn't long to wait.

Porridge is good for you, so no guilt there!

Wheelycote · 11/07/2017 18:47

Thanks thewooly. I'll do a bit of reading to catch up and see where your all up to

Wheelycote · 11/07/2017 19:09

Thewooly thinking of you for Friday. These next few days will fly by. Keep us posted.

I'm doing artificial tree this year and found a 7ft Tesco new one on eBay for 55quid 😀

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/07/2017 20:06

Fantastic bargain wheely

I'm browsing for houses Grin DH is going to do these faces ShockHmmConfused one after the other when he gets home. By my reckoning the one I've got my eye on could happily take at least 3 trees and has a gorgeous bannister for decorating. It will knock a third of the time off his commute so by that token it's a bargain, right?

NoWordForFluffy · 11/07/2017 20:20

Ooh, whereabouts are you looking, Woolly? Same county?

That's a great bargain, Wheely. 7ft is pretty big!

VivaJen · 11/07/2017 21:37

Did anyone get any pressies on Amazon Prime Day?

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/07/2017 22:58

Same county Fluffy - on a good day it would be about ten minutes drive from where we are now but in the rush hour it can add 20-25 minutes on to DH's journey as there are two big traffic bottlenecks.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/07/2017 23:46

I think your place in general is better for traffic than my home town, which is destined to drive a saint insane!

Getting in and out or round yours can be grim at rush hour though. Will he come round to your way of thinking, do you think?!

73kittycat73 · 12/07/2017 01:24

Did anyone get any pressies on Amazon Prime Day?

No VivaJen, did you? I must admit I was very disappointed. However, if you are into tech, there were a lot of bargains to be had.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/07/2017 07:06

I didn't either. There was some gin I wanted, but they wouldn't deliver it to the Amazon locker at work, annoyingly.

VivaJen · 12/07/2017 10:05

Only got two things, a bottle of Whisky which will be put aside in the pile for DH to give his work team. Also got a little washing machine for DNephew, he loves putting washing into the machine so I think this should be popular.

Have just got an RSPB brochure through and it has Christmas cards, wrap and crackers in it! Don't need any but so lovely to look through

YouKnewWeHadToDoItEventually · 12/07/2017 20:15

I've followed the link TheWoolly posted on a different Christmas thread here. I love Christmas so much! This board is brilliant 🎄

I posted on the bargain threads a couple of years ago under a different name but my last couple of Christmas's weren't the best and I stopped reading them.
This year I wanted to start early and this imo is the best place for that! Xmas Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/07/2017 20:26

I've found some fab pugs wrapping paper on the Studio website. I'm tempted to buy it to wrap DS's presents (huge DanTDM fan) but need to find some other stuff to order as I'm too tight to pay the delivery charges for less than £2 worth of wrapping paper Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 12/07/2017 20:49

How much do you need to spend for free delivery?

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/07/2017 21:44

I don't think there is a trigger point for free delivery. I found a couple of voucher codes floating around on the net but I think they must either be for bigger spends or first time customers.

Never mind, I might ask around at school to see if anyone wants anything - there was a spend £30 and get 10% off and free delivery that might work. It just seems like a lot of effort for 99p gift wrap Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 12/07/2017 21:53

It does!

Have you googled the paper? Might be able to get some on eBay?
