Which one do you have? Would you recommend it? Do you still use it or is it gathering dust?
Dp has made recent murmurings about one of these, I don't drink coffee and he never really drinks it at home as the cafetière thing is a bastard to wash.
Any wise words? Xmas Smile

We had a Tassimo but it broke.

Now have a Nespresso. Dd uses it daily and then it gets used more over the weekend. Lasted a couple of years or so now and seems as good as new.

What sort of coffee do you all make with your Nespresso? I've got one and make cappuccinos sometimes but I haven't really worked out how to make an americano, e.g. how many pods to use, do I just carry on with filling it with more water through the pods - it seems to make less coffee than I'm used to drinking and I feel like I must be missing something obvious!

CakeNinja, it is the same capacity as we last had and we were happy with that. It made around 3 Lungos per jug. We love the different strengths/ blends that Nespresso offers and have had a Nespresso machine since we got married, 13 years ago. Wouldn't go with another brand

I use the lidl ristretto pods, in the morning I use a small cup (bigger than espresso though) fill with one pod, top up with boiling water and a splash of milk. If I want a mug of coffee I use two pods, top up with water then milk.

I forgot to mention, I use water from the kettle. I boil it, warm my cup with some water while the nespresso machine warms up. Then tip the water out and do what I mentioned above.

Grindelwaldswand · 08/12/2016 07:07

I wouldn't get one as those pods you put in in never degrade in landfill and they are just clogging the planet up along with disposable coffee cups.

I've got a lavazza pod machine. It's really good. The coffee has more oomph than the weaker nespresso ones (last time I tried them, anyway). My mil has a tassimo and its coffee is watery pap! Must have a blockage or something, can't believe it's meant to be like that.

Hi have a fancy nespresso......it's gathering dust!DH and I prefer a cafetière coffee.

AmberEars · 08/12/2016 07:10

Ours is a Philips Senseo. It uses pods which look like tea bags (no plastic involved) so better for the environment, and it is very versatile in terms of expresso / latte etc. We've had it for a couple of years and we're really pleased with it.

We've gone with a tassimo as it seems to cover the brands pils prefer.
