What stocking fillers will your dcs be getting?

I'm at a loss this year.
They'll be getting a book and some sweets and a Lego mini figure but not sure if/ what else?
They've got tonnes of stationery bits and pieces.
They don't have 'collections' to add to.
I don't really like giving them stuff just for the sake of it - I'd rather it was something they'd like or need or is useful iyswim. (I loathe party bags and their associated tat)

Inspire me please!
Even a trawl round tiger did nothing to inspire me. 😳

Normally put knickers and socks or tights, pretty hair things or jewellery (not expensive real Jewellery, but kids' stuff) and ghings like that in

bluechameleon · 04/12/2016 09:19

Toy boat, rocket, apron for helping with cooking, music box, little puzzle and obviously a satsuma and chocolate coins. He's 2.

MrsHathaway · 04/12/2016 09:21

From toe up ...

Satsuma
Net of chocolate coins or shapes
Socks
Comic

These things actually fit in a stocking, and keep them entertained for a while so we don't have to get up at sparrow's fart.

Redcrayons · 04/12/2016 09:27

a couple of things from the tat aisle in Wilkos
Colouring pencils for school
Mug with their name on
Hot chocolate sachets and some jasmine tea (I'm not poncetastic really he just really likes it)
Xmas socks and undies

I'm also pinching the comic idea.

I8toys · 04/12/2016 09:35

Smores kit from naked marshmallow comp - looks lovely. Exploding kittens expansion pack. Floating levitational ball thing. Snake puzzle from Smiggle. Stickbots animation. Minecraft and Pokemon annuals. Mug cake kit. Make your own marshmallows kit Its a big stocking.....more like a sack!

MrEBear · 04/12/2016 12:06

Pants, socks, bath crayons, chocolate coins, bubbles, soap on rope & lego.

Baby has bath toys, socks, cuddly toy & dummies.

Might steal the book idea for them both.

Cagliostro · 04/12/2016 12:47

I don't like tat either so their stocking ends up quite expensive! Basically I put in things that would be presents anyway, but they're small enough to fit. I don't tend to get anything just for the sake of it. Some fillers appear every year - they always get character underwear/socks and a pack of top trumps as those always get loads of use, and some sort of edible treat (and a satsuma needless to say). They do change over time though, when younger they got magic flannels and toothbrushes.

We boy small inexpensive things for stockings but it doesn't have to be tat.

This year chocolate coins, Percy pigs, Lush honey I washed the kids soap (they love it and only get it every now and then) and a bath bomb. Also some stickers, themed note books and colouring pencils, funky pencil parer, christmas slipper socks.

All things that will be used/eaten, don't take up lots of space, relatively cheap and fun for them to open when they wake up Xmas morning. And gives us an extra half hour in bed before going downstairs for the main event Smile

Damn now I'm tempted by the smiggle snake thing - is that one of those fiddly toys where you twist it over any way?

irregularegular · 04/12/2016 16:25

Some of you have very big stockings! Ours are DH's actual hiking socks and wouldn't fit half these things! Anything bigger than a choc orange is under the tree.

We don't do stockings, we do santa sacks with all the presents in. Much simpler as no need for tiny tat items.

gigglingHyena · 04/12/2016 16:58

I'm currently tempted to buy some lego off ebay, by the kg and just fill their stockings Grin

Usually I have plenty of ideas for little bits that are at least semi useful, but I seem to be drawing a blank this year.
