Gift wrap

So who has chosen their gift wrapping theme for this year yet? Haven't decided what I fancy. Wondering about maybe just doing tartan again, or perhaps pale blue with white ribbons and playing cards for gift tags.

I've gone for the traditional red & gold coloured in the Highland theme.

I've gone for jewel colours and contrasting ribbon with peacock feather gift tags

Both sound lovely but especially the peacock feather gift tags.

Love the sound of both of those.

I'm doing tartan, which I've not done before, with either black or dark green ribbon. I've bought 36 metres of the wrapping paper from Costco so I might be having this theme for a few years to come.

Do I need to do DS's stocking and Santa presents in a different paper? He's nearly 3 so probably too young to notice and DSS is now 17 and to old to care.

Nigella I would use the same wrapping paper for the Dcs but maybe put a Father Christmas tag on present from Santa

I am about to start scouring websites for the Holy Grail (yet to find) I want classy vintage.

Presents from dd will be on brown paper that she is going to potato print at some point. Maybe more cute than classy!

I use to do that with dds when they were little. So cute. My mum use to love seeing what paper the girls had made.

Real I've just been reading on the stocking thread about using red tissue paper and Christmas stickers instead of sellotape which seems genius.

Vintage have you looked in the V&A shop? They do the most beautiful vintage Christmas cards but not sure about wrap.

The National Gallery shop has some but I think it's only by the sheet and not rolls. Museum shops often have hidden gems, particularly the London ones.

I don't have a theme but most things that are going under our tree (meaning the recipients will be here to open them on Christmas Day), are going to be wrapped in some lovely paper from cox and cox. It's navy blue with silver stars, then I've got loads of different silver ribbon (material ribbon, curling ribbon, different widths etc), to tie round.
Bought 2 rolls and I think they're 10m each.
I usually get through about 10 rolls of normal paper and 2 rolls per stocking, so 16 rolls

That Navy and silver sounds lovely.
I got my peacock feathers years ago. They use to go on the old Christmas tree.

I'm going for brown paper with red ribbons and raffia/twine. I've got some gift tags in the same colours with initials stamped on. I've also got some brown paper with red stars stamped on.

Jemima I love the sound of your theme. You've reminded me that I have some Kraft tags and some letterpress style stamps so I may copy your initials idea. I've also found a big roll of black grosgrain ribbon left from our wedding (9 years ago!) which I'm going to use with the tartan.

I feel a failure now ha ha!
I have wrapped as i have gone along so mine nearly all done in v random selections and totally non matching gift tags.
Or rather I have used an eclectic mix of contrasting colours and styles ranging from vintage overtones to a modern twist on the traditional theme topped off by a selection of mixed labels designed to complement the overall effect!

I am having the 85p theme this year, 15 5m rolls of all different patterns reduced to 85p each as they were last year's stock.

The girls will have nutcracker paper, one in red and one silver. Everyone elses will be in gold because that was the other colour in the 3 pack.
Stockings are in santa paper because they are from santa. I found loads in the christmas decorations bag so didn't have to buy any of that.

I used to put bows etc on but since i have to post most of my presents then i tend to just make sure they are tied up nice and tightly so people my sister can't peek.

I'm doing brown paper with red glitter ribbon and tags and some in the most amazing red glitter paper. Very excited for this year. DS will have some red glitter and some white with rabbits (he loves rabbits). Stocking paw patrol

When I had a theme it cost me a fortune!
I have brown and gold florist paper huge roll and I have ted and green trimmings left from when I used to have a theme. Cost this year £3

Got this paper for everything, 2 rolls of each the red and brown. Nicer than anything I've used before!
