My 3 year old just isn't that interested at the moment, I don't think she would be anymore interested in an iPad! She's not much of a sitting down child at the moment! She has a small handful of games on there that she will play but doesn't even ask for it once a week at the moment.

LostMyRubySlippers · 25/10/2016 09:18

cordelia I think it's £20 to share- so £10 off each for you & the person referred?
I clicked on someone's link last time it came up but never ordered... May take another look

I've had that hobbycraft tree in my basket for ages so am cross with myself for not ordering sooner!

Hobbycraft also have colour in playhouses half price again but mostly OOS online

Boptanana I love the mushroom growing kits. Am I being really silly worrying about spores in the home though... (sadly we are quite atopic here) 😕

lazzaroo · 25/10/2016 09:20

Can't remember who was looking for Hatchimals but they seem to be back in stock. Tesco have one variety for £57. Ocado have them all at £59, but I needed 2 and so with their new customer discount (£20 off £80 spend) it reduced it to £50 each. Code is VOU7670663.

Seeking the speak out game if anyone sees that on their travels!

Afreshstartplease · 25/10/2016 09:24

Has anyone ever had one of these www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00X740MG8/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1477383694&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=rose+cottage+playhouse&dpPl=1&dpID=41ICPBmBtSL&ref=plSrch

Looking for 3 year old dd. Like this one as looks easy to store but reviews are very up and down regarding quality.

Anyone know of anything similar?

We haven't got much toy free space in the garden so was hoping to avoid an outside one but if it's one that can't easily be collapsed it'll have to go out there I suppose!

CarrotVan · 25/10/2016 09:25

sweetpea we have an iPad mini (mine) and a Kindle Fire (DS1's) and the Kindle Fire interface is really fecking annoying. The only plus point for the Fire is that you can add memory cards so you can save lots of films for watching on long car journeys

Wiifitmama · 25/10/2016 09:26

I came across this site today and just ordered the most amazing kindle cover for my Sherlock Holmes mad son. The covers look like leather bound books and here are a variety of well known books on offer. They are on sale this week. Not mega cheap but way cheaper than normal. A good present for a hard to buy for teen, adult, etc! They had stationary too.

Thank you to whoever used my pact code!

SomethingOfTheNight · 25/10/2016 09:40

I have at last received my refund, via PayPal, from Hush.

To anyone thinking of getting a kindle fire on Black Friday, if you want a back up plan...
Last year I failed to get them online but was able to pop into a John Lewis late afternoon. Whilst they were out of the bargainous kindle fires, they had a 'next best' offer of an 8 inch LG tablet for £60 instead of £160 and I managed to get the last two in store at that time - seems that people were so focuses onthe cheaply kindle deals they were forgetting to ask 'what else' have got got on offer!

They've been really great - they had a much better spec than the kindles and they weren't physically as clunky.

In hindsight I'm really glad I got them - one was for my aunt, one was for me but also as a spare family tablet and they've been excellent. By paying £60 instead of £45 (as I think the kindle fires were in John Lewis) I got a much better tablet and saved £100 on each of them.

So it's just a reminder to remember to have a back up plan in case you don't get what you set out to get on Black Friday rather than fixing on one thing and then not getting anything or having to get it later for full price.

I'm wondering if this year there might be some good deals on Samsung tablets for example - they've had such a bad year with all the problems with their new phones that it's bound to impact on their other similar products too. And I don't think that there have been the same problems with the tablets so they'd be definitely worth considering at a good price.

MammaGnomes · 25/10/2016 09:49

I've got £50 off a £200 spend at beaverbrooks if any one is thinking of buying a special gift

Code is

CordeliaScott · 25/10/2016 09:55

Lost that makes sense. I didn't actually read the terms and conditions just the headline number. Still thanks to whoever used my referral link!

SweetPeaPods · 25/10/2016 09:58

Confuugled that makes sense. Thanks!

Emergefromthedark · 25/10/2016 10:03

I've got just over £250 in my Amazon basket, is it worth waiting until black Friday? What sort of things get reduced? Is it all electricals?

I'm also waiting on a £50 Amazon gift card from three after we bought a mobile phone. Taking ages to come through.

SleepFreeZone · 25/10/2016 10:09

So the Hush drama continues

I opened a dispute within PayPal to try and encourage a refund. They have replied to all three asking me to close the dispute and then they will action the refund. However if I click that the case has now been resolved I get a warning message advising me that the case will be permanently closed, 'am I sure I want to do that?' Well no I'm not at all sure as I don't trust them to refund me. So I've had to send PayPal a message to see if they can refund me first and then I close the case. What a fucking palava!!! Really bad PR move.

Ladybunnyfluff · 25/10/2016 10:09

Anybody have a free delivery code for The Book People?

AmyAmoeba · 25/10/2016 10:13

Are there any codes floating round for book depository or other online book sellers?
Thank you for all the book people codes - I just need to order a few things they don't stock.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 25/10/2016 10:15

Emerge They reduce a variety of things and it isn't just electricals.

It is a gamble though as it isn't leads 'obvious' things that get reduced iyswim.

My advice is if it is a good price now and you want it then get it. Put everything else into your 'saved for later' list and watch the price.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 25/10/2016 10:16

*always

confuugled1 · 25/10/2016 10:19

OK so this isn't very Christmasy but it's very bargainous!

I've just been shocked by the savings to be made on changing some light bulbs to LED ones, particularly now that they're coming down quite considerably in price. I noticed Costco had got a load of new ones in, all sorts of different ones which is what prompted me to have a look.

I have a very dark kitchen so have the lights on a lot, plus we tend to leave the landing lights on during the night and the hall lights on during the evening. These three places have 16 bulbs between them - and using the calculator below I reckon switching would save me about £250 in electricity costs in the first year. I would need to buy bulbs in that first year which seems to be £2-5/bulb - but even getting the £5 bulbs I would be quids in.

I was originally thinking I would switch over as old bulbs failed but having done the sums, I'm just going to do the ones that get used a lot straight away.

Have a play with the calculator here - for reference, I discovered I have the 'energy saving' 70 watt halogen bulbs in my kitchen and the halogen 50 watt bulbs in my hall/landing. We've put in one LED light in the kitchen to try and it's as bright if not brighter than the rest, plus it is bright immediately rather than needing to warm up like the older energy saving ones.

Hoping that these simple switches will go a long way towards paying for next Christmas Xmas Grin sorry it's not a very present-y bargain post though!

CarrotVan · 25/10/2016 10:19

sleep I wouldn't close the dispute. Tell Hush you'll close it when they've issued the refund

And then write to the CEO with the whole saga of order cancellations, lack of refund, request to close the dispute etc

Really poor customer service

Juliecloud · 25/10/2016 10:20

What's the offer with Pact?

AmyAmoeba · 25/10/2016 10:20

These might be useful for the Irish bargain hunters here:
Lloyds pharmacy seem to be copying the boots star buy idea and this week they have a sugar & Spice advent calendar reduced from €19.99 to €12.00. Might be suitable for tweens just getting into make up.
Mr Price had scratch maps of the world for €4.99 and a Coronation Street DVD trivia game for €6.99
Also got an email from ELC - half price toy event get €20 off €100 with TOY100 and €10 off €50 with TOY50. They tend to be the same codes in UK so might be useful.

CarrotVan · 25/10/2016 10:21

ladybunny unless you need to place the order today with The Book People they will have a free delivery + % discount at some point soon. The offer changes every day
