The unicorn is out of stock :(

I saw the link and my heart skipped a beat for my unicorn obsessed 5 year old!

weebarra · 19/09/2016 14:06

reastie - I buy a beano for Ds1 most weeks, usually from WH Smith or tesco. Might get a subscription for him this year.

SestraClone · 19/09/2016 14:06

This is the Beano deal that comes up now & again, though it is showing as sold out just now it might be worth you while keeping an eye out for it www.itison.com/Aberdeen/deals/the-beano-a-three-month-subscription--2

needyounow · 19/09/2016 14:06

Reastie, TU starts tomorrow, I got my days mixed up. It's 20th-26th sept. Still trying to get info for toy sale will post as soon as I hear.

RoastieToastieReastie · 19/09/2016 14:06

Reastie The Beano comes out on a Wednesday. I get it for ds every week - the little newsagents near his school often doesn't put it out until Thursday but will sometimes have it after school on a Wednesday. They very rarely have it out by drop off time on a Wednesday morning.

My local Sainsburys and Morrisons do usually have it on a Wednesday but have been known to sell out. In Sainsburys now, it is on the top shelf of the kids section (bonkers arrangement - they used to have all the kids stuff on the bottom shelves so they could get to them themselves, the adults stuff on the top shelves. Now they have sectionalised(!) it so that all the different topics are in different sections done vertically. I can see how that makes it nice and neat on a planning diagram but it's crazy to have so many kids magazines where they can't see them.

I only get it because I know it is there - if there's a wrapper on it (about every other week as there's usually a give away every other week) then it becomes even harder to find - and that's when I know the shelf location. (I'm above average height and I have to stretch up to get it!)

Morrisons it does seem to be a bit lower - but often towards the back of the low shelves, again quite tricky to find.

It would be worth getting a shop assistant to help you as once you know where to look, they're usually in the right place or close by.

Hi all, I'm looking for nice children's duvet sets as gifts for Christmas, but not christmassy as I want to use them all year round. Could be character, DDs like my little pony, Ben and Holly, shopkins. I'd like them to be good quality though, I've had bad luck with cheaper ones (from supermarkets) in the past. Any suggestions recommended! Doesn't have to be bargainous but that would be a bonus Xmas Smile

GrumpusLumpus · 19/09/2016 14:09

Reastie, you should have an email from Harrods with your booking slot on August 31st. I did and even still got Dec 5th!

confuugled1 · 19/09/2016 14:09

ooh thanks Sestra - will check it out and keep an eye on it...

Treadlightly · 19/09/2016 14:10

I got the smiggle advent calendar today for dd & its huge! I signed up to their club online & got 20% off so not a massive bargain but £22 instead of £28

Treadlightly · 19/09/2016 14:11

Grumpus have gone through emails and you're right. Followed the link but definitely too late as sold out. Oh well, maybe next year.

Why I always find tkmaxx and home sense good for children's bedding. I went to my local home sense last week and they had nice Roald Dahl and Emma Bridgewater sets.

Confugled I will do that, thank you.

reastie my six year old loves pie face. Hmm strange about harrods that you didn't get to book until yesterday. There's so many complaints every year though it's ridiculous honestly they only let the rich get the decent slots which pisses me off.

WhycantIhavearealwand · 19/09/2016 14:22

Thanks Reastie, I will have a look in tk maxx. IKEA is my usual go to but no trip planned until after Christmas and was bit disappointed by the patterns of the children's covers last time.

Arran aromatics have a £1.50 sale shop at the moment, amongst other things their travel sized candles are in it which smell gorgeous - might be nice for Christmas teacher presents or grown up stocking fillers Arran Aromatics £1.50 sale

WreckTangled · 19/09/2016 14:23

Grumpus I got an email on the 31st to say that I would receive an email on the 16th September with my booking link, which I did. I didn't get it until half ten though, was there a link in the original email I could have used? Angry

FireflyGirl · 19/09/2016 14:26

Picked up my pink unicorn baubles from M&S click and collect today. But look Shock Sad

Spoke to customer service live chat and they're sending me another pair tomorrow. Part of me is really sad that such pretty, sparkly unicorns will have to go in the bin Sad just because someone didn't take proper care packaging them.

Reastie my dsis bought one for dh birthday as a joke and it only been used by my 2yr old to fling toys across the living room. If it's cheap enough I think it would be fun for Christmas but I think it would probably end up collecting dust

RoastieToastieReastie · 19/09/2016 14:28

Those who have the candy grabber from iWOOT (sorry, another question, but I'm on a roll getting things done today) would it work with chocolate coins or mini bubble pack from the pound shop (see photo with 50p for size)? Trying to think of things to put with them when I give them and don't want to give just sweets.

There are advent calendars for dogs on amazon! Woof!

MrsCocoa · 19/09/2016 14:34

Can't you patch them up Firefly and set up a unicorn sanctuary towards the back of the Xmas tree?

MaryPoppins - try click and collect before you despair. Just wondering if I can ask my sis to pick one up in a neighbouring town for me - might be a struggle home on the bus for her though...
