I got the M & S beauty calendar last year and loved it. It felt very indulgent and I used a lot of the products and ended up buying some of them again. Used some as presents too so will definitely be looking out for it again this year.

LibertineLola · 08/09/2016 22:58

This was my haul back in June when I last took inventory so I dread to think now, I darent get it all out 🙈

I got a Selfridges advent calendar last year - so indulgent but I loved it. Will def get one this year.

First time poster but these threads are great - particular thanks to Reastie -have used them for a few years now!

This year I have ordered:

Mermaid blanket (DD - 5) - arrived and is lovely
Shark blanket (DS - 6)
Shark bed (kitten - 10wks)
Personalised pencils and cases from studio for both kids
Bargain Lego set from Boots for DS

I am on the look out for deals on a Maxi micro scooter (unlikely, I know), Ghostbusters Lego, bride and groom Barbie and Ken and of course playmobil advent calendars if anyone spots! DS is an Xmas baby too so I have double the amount to do for him!

BicycleMadeForTwo · 08/09/2016 23:09

Still no shark bed for me - delivery was meant to be 6th September at the latest and seller isn't replying to emails...cheeky mare

What are these £5 build a bears? I have £20 worth of reward vouchers from DD's party.

Haudyerwheesht · 08/09/2016 23:12

gingerbread thanks I'll look at those.

He wants to play Pokemon go but he has an android tablet and just a very very very basic phone - is there anything cheap I could get to play that on? I know there's the watch thing but you still need a smart phone.

Haudyerwheesht · 08/09/2016 23:12

amber they offer 2 selected bears for £5 each - it's because it's national teddy bear day or similar?

FeelingSmurfy · 08/09/2016 23:19

There are only a few £5 bears in each shop, some have none but most do have some even if it's just 2(!)

RubyFlint · 08/09/2016 23:22

RJL would your DD like a stop animation kit like this animate-it.com/get-the-software/ which is currently on offer.

My nephew had this and it kept him busy for hours. I bought him a morph character to go with it.

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2016 23:39

Have just looked it up - they have both those bears, lucky as I'm not around tomorrow at any rate!

Anyone got any clues on the Sainsbos toy sale? I know it's usually a weds in Oct. Have historically done very well at those.

TheImprobableGirl · 08/09/2016 23:56

My kids don't know about build-a-bear Blush

In my defence they love bears from pound land, and we could have 50 of them for the standard price!!

torthecatlady · 09/09/2016 00:13

Dare I ask how much a Selfridges advent calendar was and what it contained? Shock

SharonStrzelecki · 09/09/2016 00:18

I got the Hotel Chocolat tasting box from this thread last year and cancelled the subscription ASAP. They rang me today (an 01425 number) to offer me another big box for £6.95 with a free hot chocolate and then I could cancel the subscription again, so like last year I think. The chocolates went down very well with my dad last Christmas so hoping to use it again as a present if the dates are long enough. So might be worth watching out for a phone call if you signed up last year.

ladylambkin · 09/09/2016 00:18

Thanks flan I got one of those charm bracelets

torthecatlady · 09/09/2016 00:31

Hotel chocolat is delicious. Last year their had a winter limited edition chocolate which was pink coloured and tasted like port - they were divine! No idea what they were called, but I shall be looking out for those!

I'm tempted to buy a vodka advent calendar... But it's £100... But does include some unusual brands. Anyone tried one before? I've also seen him advent calendars. Or I could just buy a nice bottle of belvedere or grey goose for £30-£40 instead. Hmm Wine

AmberNectarine · 09/09/2016 00:33

It was £60, which is ridiculous but it had some good bits - tweezerman tweezers, rodial, ole henriksson etc. Really good brands. I loved opening it everyday.

torthecatlady · 09/09/2016 00:52

Shock I'll definitely consider it when they release it this year. I bet it will sell out fairly quickly.

Cabawill · 09/09/2016 01:13

The New Baby Annabell that also wets is reduced on Amazon to £36.99 from £49.99 which is a best price on camelcamelcamel so I've snapped one up for DD-

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/s/ref=is_s_ss_i_0_9?k=baby+annabell&sprefix=baby+anna

Hope that link works.
