It wouldn't be Christmas without...

Cherryade - (that no one drinks . "It's tradition" I cry, when questioned as to why I have to buy it at Christmas. When we were kids (cue Hovis music!) we didn't have fizzy drinks very often but mum always bought cherryade and limeade from the Bilco drinks lorry at Christmas.

What wouldn't it be Christmas without in your house?

Me buying all the presents except my own and hearing 'but you're better at it than me'.

FireFaerie · 16/11/2006 12:17

gscrim, snap! why does my DP know that the best way to shut me up is through flattery when moaning about 'my xmas shopping..burden'
wouldnt be christmas without a really big grin across DS's face when hes surrounded in prettily wrapped boxes, and my camera to capture the moment

Gold coins in a net bag

Rollmops!

Cointreau - our current bottle is about 10 yrs old and still 4/5s full. I do like it honest but just never as much as I think I will IYKWIM??? So one small glass with coffee after dinner and then I decide not to bother again until next year. A real christmas tradition. Even tried it with ice one year.....

And satsumas, and finding bits of nuts shell tucked down the side of the sofa and under the all the furniture for months.

I'll tell you what has mercifully disappeared without trace from all Christmas days...

Noel's Bloody Christmas Presents.

Still, strangely nostalgic...

Anyway, a big greasy ham, that weird inability to eat even though you're completely stuffed, a satsuma and MIL's head doing a 360 degree turn- all sings that Christmas is well and truly upon us.
