It wouldn't be Christmas without...

Cherryade - (that no one drinks . "It's tradition" I cry, when questioned as to why I have to buy it at Christmas. When we were kids (cue Hovis music!) we didn't have fizzy drinks very often but mum always bought cherryade and limeade from the Bilco drinks lorry at Christmas.

What wouldn't it be Christmas without in your house?

Cod, if you don't like Christmas why don't you go and look at dresses or something while us saddos have a chat. Nothing sadder than being rude on threads that don't interest you.

beckybrastraps · 15/11/2006 22:41

No
I buy it because my MUM always bought it. It was a BIG DEAL.
I don't READ it.

Although when I was younger I used to look and see what was on on my birthday so I could winge about how awful it was having a birthday sandwiched between Christmas and New Year. And then bring up the time my mum took the holly off an uneatedn Yule log and stuck on some candles for my birthday cake.

I do NOT have a yule log.

A big bowl of nuts that we don't eat and get thrown away in January.

Oh, some unseasonal exchanges whilst I was typing out that little bit of self-therapy...

Cod is not just a present for Christmas, she's for life.

Bucks fizz, Xmas morning, my treat to myself so I don't get fed up with all the naff stuff my DH gets me
like bubble bath...like I ever get the time to have a long soak anyway! Quick shower is about as much time as I get these days.
At least the kids don't know I've stated drinking first thing - they think its orange juice!

Yes, Baileys! with lost of ice....

nannyme · 15/11/2006 23:03

I cook a mini Christmas pudding (I mean heat-up, not cook actually) for no reason whatsoever apart from that's what my mother always did (she like xmas pud). Nobody except me eats it and I only vaguely enjoy it so inevitably eat the whole thing.

Wouldn't be xmas without a log fire and xmas crackers.
