xalyssx · 27/07/2015 19:54

You get brio compatible train sets in each major supermarket, well at least morris ons and tesco.

BollockyBollocks · 27/07/2015 22:40

Hello all! I'm After the little people Disney castle but the lowest I can find it is £40? Any ideas if I should wait?

LetThereBeCupcakes · 28/07/2015 07:52

scandi I've heard the IKEA stuff can be a bit tricky to get it to fit, although the train's OK. Thanks xalyssx our local Tesco used to do it but doesn't any more (and it's an extra!) - not thought of Morrisons will have a look. Will check out tesco online, too.

GerbilsAteMyCat · 28/07/2015 07:58

Ikea trains are definitely compatible with Brio and wooden thomas the tank engine and also the train set in Tesco's. I could do children's trainsets on Mastermind.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 28/07/2015 08:06

Thanks gerbils!

MacGotFat · 28/07/2015 09:17

Bigjigs is another Brio-compatible but cheaper alternative- fits together with Brio seamlessly.

newtonupontheheath · 28/07/2015 09:21

Just bought this leap pad for DD (for her birthday in October) I spied it at £44 on Sunday but it's dropped again to £36 today:

leap pad on amazon

I assume there will be a better model out by Christmas but I'm not too bothered about that!

Thanks to whoever posted about the 2ds's at Tesco. Picked one up for DS (birthday also in October) so feel really organised now!

Completely stuck what to get 12yr old daughter this year,as main present , as she has a laptop, a tablet , no point up dating her phone as she is to accident prone with it, she plays her music off laptop, she has TV and DVD player.

Thinking of new bedroom furniture but not sure xx

GerrardWinstanley · 28/07/2015 12:55

Tanya How about a camcorder and some editing software? Or a decent camera and some photography lessons?

Zorion · 28/07/2015 13:02

Not a massive bargain but I've picked up this rucksack picnic hamper thing from Joules in the sale for 35 instead of £60 for my parents, going to fill the food bit with food so its like a hampery hamper.

stacysmom · 28/07/2015 13:06

National Trust membership with 3 months free available using code K15059. You can usually select your start date, not sure if it will go up to December however!

guzzlewump · 28/07/2015 14:23

zorion some family friends gave us a picnic hamper like that as a wedding present, along with a matching picnic rug (went on the other side of the rucksack from the bottle holder, happened to be the design of the one they'd chosen) and a bottle of champagne with a note saying 'for your first picnic' in the bottle holder.

It was the best 'off-list' wedding present we had - we still love using it - and the champagne was a really nice touch. And seemed special as when I was young we used to go on picnics a lot with these family friends so appropriate and brought back happy memories too.

Bet your parents will love it! Can you put a guide to local picnic places or walks in it too for them, to give them ideas of places to take it to use it Grin

GerrardWinstanley · 28/07/2015 15:47

I am also loving these matching dresses for girls and their dolls at under a tenner
here at Zulilly.
DD2 is going to be thrilled as she is outgrowing the one grandma got her last Christmas (tho her teddy is not Grin)

GerrardWinstanley · 28/07/2015 19:40

Not sure if this is very Christmas-y but Target Dry have 20% off a selection of adult and children's waterproof jackets with code FEST20. Includes some which have already been significantly reduced in the sale. I really rate their stuff. Particularly love that they have more girly styles which can be difficult to find in outdoor gear.

Really hoping I don't get any more email alert bargains now. Going on holiday next week and I've spent a scary amount in the last two weeks Shock

GerrardWinstanley · 28/07/2015 19:44

Nanny I would say they are true to high street sizing. Their more fitted styles are a slimmer fit than you normally get with outdoor gear but that suits me as DCs are tall and skinny just like their mother Wink

issynoho · 28/07/2015 22:13

Lottie Pony Rider Doll £9.50 half price at Debenhams. DD loves her Lotties and they are hardly ever reduced.
