Wow she got a lot of presents!

woollytights · 27/12/2014 06:30

Hmm 3 things were mentioned, are you serious?

ohlittlepea · 27/12/2014 06:44

It's a lot yo play with at once, what toys did she like?

youbethemummylion · 27/12/2014 06:47

How old is the child?

whimsical1975 · 27/12/2014 07:33

Ummmmmmmmmm... well I daren't mention how many mine got then!!! My DD had zero interest in her 2 zelfs!! I love them and keep asking her if we can play with them and she's totally disinterested... might have to play with them myself Xmas Grin

Tealady1983 · 27/12/2014 07:35

Hmmm yes mine got only a couple of hundred of bits too Wink

Iggly · 27/12/2014 07:37

How old?

My 3 year old was happy with her Rapunzel doll and didn't care about the rest. Thinking about it, I got far too much stuff for her. My five year old on the other hand wanted more and more presents Hmm Grin and looked disgusted when dd stopped opening hers Grin

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 27/12/2014 07:42

When my DCs wrote their letters to Santa (they've never done that before but took it upon themselves) DS (5) said he really wanted a monster high boy doll. I kind of thought he was just saying it because DD loves MH, but he does sometimes play it with her so I got one for DD to give to him as she wanted to.

He hasn't played with it really. That may be because there was so much lego to play with though. I think he liked the idea of having one but isn't fussed in reality!

curiousgeorgie · 27/12/2014 09:26

She's 4... They weren't just from us. We spent Christmas with our huge family Grin

She loved her magiclip dolls best of all.

(Why wouldn't I be serious?? I didn't realise Christmas was a fighty topic?)

You bought a 4 year old an iPad?!

DisappointedOne · 27/12/2014 09:33

My 4 year old was only interested in seeing my sister and her partner. It took most of the day for her to open the handful of presents she had (we don't do the santa thing) and she's loved and played with everything she had.

Long may that last. Grin

Only1scoop · 27/12/2014 09:37

My 4 yo dd....is loving her Playmobil camping set and swimming pool .... She's not that into Frozen either.

What's a furby boom?

SantasFavouriteHo · 27/12/2014 10:16

Ballapalooza, took forever to set up and is expensive for what it is but thought they'd love it...has barely been touched!

Fanfeckintastic · 27/12/2014 10:23

My three year old DD loved everything for five minutes Grin
The real hits have been her kitchen, her mat with roads on it and train track.

My favourite is her flying fairy! I've been playing with it all morning!

CharlesRyder · 27/12/2014 10:36

To summarise the multiple other threads on this:

a) did you expect too much of a Disney type reaction from her?
b) do you think she was given too much stuff?
c) do you think she gets a lot of stuff all year round and is a bit blasé about it now?
c) was Christmas hyped up too much?

curiousgeorgie · 27/12/2014 10:41

Yes to all 4 Wink

curious dont fear its only just past christmas.

my dd's toys are brought to last the year...I wouldnt want her into all of them right now....

if you were given bike, tennis racket, excersie bike and loads of other stuff all in one go you wouldnt go on it all straight away either.

something has caught her eye, and she will come to the other stuff....except perhaps the snow glow, as there isnt that much you can do with that....and i wouldn't be in a hurry to get her glued to more screen time on ipad....

usefully · 27/12/2014 22:49

Oh look a "you bought an (x) year old an ipad!!" post.

Yawwwn

PookBob · 27/12/2014 22:53

My 3yr old DD loved the Magiclip princesses too, a very good buy!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 27/12/2014 23:01

dd1 (6) the Lego I bought - she declared there was too much and she only wanted a little bit... (can be very funny about presents on her 3rd bday she cried that a box was too big and had a total meltdown!)

however she adored the joint tent, fibre optic light and pokemon toys...

dd2 (2) loved everything including her sisters toys which she didn't want to play with

but like other posters I bought gifts to last the year as dd1 is a Nov bday.

NoLongerJustAShopGirl · 28/12/2014 08:34

I think it is fine to be Shock about a 4 year old being given an iPad.

my girls are older and loved their presents - clothes, books and money - with a special chewbacca backpack for one and an Andy Biersack pillowcase for the other... happy girls...

curiousgeorgie · 28/12/2014 10:04

You have no idea of the reason the 4 year old was given an iPad, so why judge?

OP posts:
nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 28/12/2014 10:40

everyone has different rules for their own children which works for their families. and as I say to dd 'different families/mummies and daddies have different rules and views' this normally comes up with make up and nail varnish, and technology for children. however we all have things we do/don't allow our children to do/have, none is right or wrong just what works for different families. I don't comment on these things on here as I have no idea of circumstances however sometimes judge in real life but im sure some people judge some of our choices aswell.

Only1scoop · 28/12/2014 10:45

Agree we all have different views regarding the technology gadgets etc. probably because I'm practically from the ark myself....

coolaschmoola · 28/12/2014 10:50

Be glad re Snow Glow Elsa.... She gets irritating very quickly! Although less so since she was switched to play mode from demo as she at least says a variety of things now!
