That's it really! We usually go carol singing around the village so often have crusty bread sausage sandwiches beforehand. What do you have?

We had satay chicken, prawn parcels and duck pancakes followed by a copious amount of chocolate and wine. I'm now slightly pissed.

Cheese fondue- this year as well as bread we had sprouts roasted in pancetta to dip in. Sounds weird but it was very tasty.

Crispy duck pancakes, stir fry and plenty of wine

My mum always did our main Christmas dinner on Xmas Eve (tip given to her by a German friend to try and get the kids to sleep quickly as the's be so full). I've always done something special but not necessarily a few roast dinner. However this year we had Polish cabbage and mushroom dumplings for starters, followed by roast chicken, sausagemeat sage and onion stuffing, red cabbage, roasted spuds, parsnips and sprouts, mashed spud and celeriac, carrots, broccoli, peas and green beans. And we rounded off with mince pies and homemade Xmas pud ice-cream. Am now totally stuffed, but dc sound asleep and haven't stirred once which is most unusual Grin

We had a chicken Caesar salad, followed by fresh fruit salad with crushed meringues and cream. Fancied something lightish before the onslaught tomorrow.

We had venison steaks, dauphinois potatoes and braise red cabbage with apple. It was bloody lovely and felt rather festive.
