That's it really! We usually go carol singing around the village so often have crusty bread sausage sandwiches beforehand. What do you have?

DDs get a KFC and me and DH have an Indian takeaway.

bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 20/12/2014 19:34

We don't have a tradition. Last year I honestly have no idea, this year I'm thinking steak, onions and homemade chips for me and DH and probably sausages for the dd's or macaroni cheese for a change or both if I'm in the Christmas spirit

Hot pork rolls and spiced cider :-)

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 24/12/2014 12:33

Usually have fish pie but due to a cock up on the catering front we had it yesterday.
Instead I'm going to do nibbly stuff like sausage rolls, pate on toast and cheese and crackers

Davros · 24/12/2014 12:56

Kebabs (from Giles Coren's fave kebab shop!)

MrsAFlowerpot · 24/12/2014 13:06

Chinese. We used to do a buffet of little bits, but it worked out to be both expensive and not very filling. Now I pop to the Chinese on the way home from the Children's Nativity.

The last few years of we've not been to/hosted a party we've had a take away on Christmas Eve.

Tonight we've having christmas ham with egg chips and bread and butter.

Ham egg and chips is probably my favourite dinner. Yum!

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 24/12/2014 15:25

Marmite toast on the days I am doing xmas dinner (normally for approx 20
+), but this year it's sister's do so I have already cooked chicken and chorrizzo stew thingy which we will have with dumplings (my boys love them) and white beans (harricot?) for me and OH.

scratchandsniff · 24/12/2014 15:29

I don't usually bother making much effort but we've got the in laws over tonight. I'm doing ham cooked in coke with jacket spuds, salad and a winter slaw followed by lemon posset. Yum yum hopefully

NickerPicker · 24/12/2014 15:35

I think I will see what is left in the supermarket. We are going to the coffee shop for a hot chocolate, and will get what we fancy to take home.

m0therofdragons · 24/12/2014 15:35

We're going away from tomorrow and I have a fridge of random stuff that needs using so it'll be an odd combination of veg and pasta in tomato sauce. Usually it's Chinese but we had that on Monday as I was feeling rough.

Ujjayi · 24/12/2014 16:01

We had a cooked lunch & will just have snacky bits for supper.

Lunch: Nigella's Fully Festive Ham (cooked yesterday), creamy mashed potatoes, warm beetroot & caper salad (DCs had salad). DH cooked rhubarb crumble & custard for pudding.

Sallystyle · 24/12/2014 16:07

Indian with the inlaws tonight.

MegBusset · 24/12/2014 19:40

Party tea for the DC (Christmas tree-shaped sandwiches, crisps, party rings, cake etc). DH and I are having spicy root vegetable casserole and lots of wine

Sendo · 24/12/2014 19:59

Spend Christmas Eve with my parents and they make it a very special dinner - we had lobster, Dover sole and slow cooked pork belly with champagne to start it all off. Persimmons and clementines for afters. Christmas Day is spent at my ILs and the main event this year will be Beef Wellington. I've already had 2 turkey meals in the last few weeks - thanksgiving (brining the turkey definitely works!) and the work Christmas do.

UpSheFlew · 24/12/2014 20:11

Half a bag of wine gums and mulled wine. The theme is wine.

drspouse · 24/12/2014 20:20

Fish, and rice pudding (a Scandinavian tradition, we are not Scandinavian but we love it).
We usually have a Delia parmesan crusted fish, DS had fish fingers today because the fish was a bit minimalist. I made whole milk rice pudding with no sugar but with ripe bananas for the DCs, semi skimmed with sugar and nutmeg for us. One rice pudding is not enough!

mumeeee · 24/12/2014 20:43

We went out for a very late lunch with Mil. So will just bits and pieces for tea.

SuperGlue · 24/12/2014 21:43

We had smoked salmon bagels for lunch and lots of nibbles after. Have just cooked the gammon in the oven and dh and I will have hot gammon sandwiches with gherkins and German mustard in a minute. I made a mushroom and Parma ham pasta dish for dd with cucumber slices on the side and she had profiteroles after. She was heading up the stairs a I was taking the ham out and she scoffed 3 slices out of her hand!! First year ever she would even try it. She is very fussy so this has made my Christmas !

FelixFelixNavidad · 24/12/2014 21:45

We had a bbq Smile

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 24/12/2014 21:47

Tourtière, which is a traditional French Canadian meat pie, with mushroom sauce. Coleslaw on the side. Dessert is my SIL's famous maple syrup, peanut butter and ice cream pie. Yum.

Khalessi · 24/12/2014 22:35

I made a lasagne for lunch as we had a 5pm crib service, after which we had a loaf from our bread machine with cheese and nibbles.

tassisssss · 24/12/2014 22:42

We had a posher than normal macaroni cheese with diced Christmas ham through it (leftovers from a meal with pals on mon).

Was delish!

MrsJayGatsby · 24/12/2014 22:43

We had KFC and it's given me the shits.
I am spending my Christmas Eve wrapping, and shitting.
