No exciting thread title this time I’m afraid...

This is it, this is the thread that should take us into December Xmas Grin

As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

If I’ve missed anything good from any last threads onto the list please let me know.

I have advent calendars ready to go up once the DC are asleep, they wake up to calendars galore (both lego and chocolate and the obligatory traditional one) with fairy lights on the shelves around them and Xmas music playing when they come downstairs.

So exciting!

DrankSangriaInThePark · 30/11/2014 20:12

ExtraVolume- that sounds about right then, I checked my bank, and no money at all has gone out yet, but there is something pending and HC show on their account page as having delivered chocs on 20th and a payment should have been taken yesterday, which I guess is the pending one. I was confused because it seemed odd that the chocolates should arrive before the payment is taken, but I suppose if they have the card details.....

I officially finished my christmas shopping this weekend. I ducked out three threads ago to stop me twitching. Mainly thanks to this thread it will be a bountiful christmas for all, especially important to me this year as we lost my lovely dear dad in September so I am trying to make Christmas as joyous as I can for all the family.
Huge thanks to Reastie, JerseySpud and all contributes, I especially enjoyed daddykyllers Amazon bargains. Merry Christmas everyone, off to start the mountain of wrapping. I will be back in January to start again!!!
ThanksThanksThanksEnvyEnvyEnvyThanksThanksThanks

Pigleychez · 30/11/2014 20:16

Please keep reminding me about the Advent calendars tonight!... And the ELf needs to 'arrive' too once ive got through this huge mountain of ironing!

Boden still 30% off at the mo. Sorely tempted by a few things but ive already bought myself too many early presents!

DilysMoon · 30/11/2014 20:23

So Cyber Monday, how much of a thing is it? I'm holding out for an xbox 360 but they are not budging in price at all Angry

ChocolateWombat · 30/11/2014 20:33

I need to stop looking at these threads as I think I finished the shopping tonight with a Galt pop-up toy on Amazon Lightning Deals (£4.33 instead of £8.99)
I am twitching though as I saw 6xCrabtree and Evelyn Handcreams for £14, also on Lighning Deals, but no one needs a gift now.

Thanks for all the codes/deals on these threads. For me the best have been;

  • Womdee scarves
  • Hotel Chocolat with big cash back and discount code
  • Charles Trywhitt polo shirts
  • Molton Brown handcream sets

It can also recommend Joint English Heritage Senior membership for £48 reduced from £60..... Great joint present if you have retired parents. You can also buy this on Tesco points for £20 worth.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 30/11/2014 20:34

Where's good for wee stocking fillers? Both online and IRL? Dd1 loves frozen but my B&m and home bargains didn't have anything Hmm

CreamSubstitute · 30/11/2014 20:40

I would twitch for the Playmobil hotel extension to go with my Amazon bargain but I'm not paying £40+ for it. Really hoping it will go down in price before Christmas.

ChocolateWombat · 30/11/2014 20:45

Cheap stocking fillers;

  • Bendy Man - 35p Hawkins Bazaar
  • Finger lights - about £1 on Amazon or Ebay
  • Choc Orange - £1 supermarket offer
  • toiletries pinched from hotel rooms
  • lego/playmobil figure in surprise bag
  • toothbrush
  • sticker sheet
  • £1 book from WHSMith with McDonalds Happy Meal voucher
  • Jar of Nutella - favourite stocking duller in our house.
Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 30/11/2014 20:59

I don't know where I hid the advent calenders! Goes into panic mode...

PinkSquash · 30/11/2014 21:11

Drank Grin Welcome, welcome. Although all is chaotic here, the lego advent calendars are messed up

Fox28 · 30/11/2014 21:31

Does anyone have a code for Next online please? DH wants some new pants, but they're £22 a pack Shock

JoInScotland · 30/11/2014 22:35

Does anyone have a current code for GLTC? I tried NORTHPOLE but it said it is not a valid promotional code! Thank you!

Opheliabumps · 30/11/2014 22:40

Thank you for the Body Shop code, DD just announced she wanted to buy gifts for the ladies at her after school club, so that's everyone sorted for £15 delivered!

IHeartKingThistle · 30/11/2014 22:41

Argh it has (belatedly) just occurred to DH and I that when we redid our living room this year we left no room for the usual real bushy Christmas tree I make him buy. So reluctantly I'm on the lookout for an artificial one. Ideally it needs to be a) slim, b) beautiful and c) bargainous-ish. Real trees are expensive too so I think I could justify around £100. Where should I be looking? Should I start a separate thread? Help - it has to be here by Saturday!

NorksEnormous · 30/11/2014 23:05

Pound land have a good range of frozen stocking fillers girlwiththeyellowhat. There's hairbrushes, hairbands, bath sponges, bath jigsaws, hand wash etc...

steppemum · 30/11/2014 23:22

Just to be different, our advent calendar is home made every year, it is a string with 25 numbered pegs and the kids paint/draw/stick pictures to go on it. We turn one round every day. We keep our favourites from last year and make the rest new.

But despite the fact it is up, it is kind of not officially there until after 5th December.

Tonight we left shoes out with carrots and pictures in for Sinter Klaas, we will do that all week and then he will come calling on Friday!!

BirdingWidow · 30/11/2014 23:28

I have to stop reading this thread. I have been with you all (though useless) since the first thread and I love the camaraderie. I have bought far too much for DS, so much so that I now have his birthday presents too (for September, ahem!). I have just bought the win green wigwam on zulily, thanks to whoever pointed that out. A relative bargain but still rather a huge purchase, I hope he loves it come the summer!

Wauwau melissa and doug wooden tree advent calendar poised and ready... Grin Thanks to all for the bargain hunting. Only the Difficult People left but not, for once, DH!

ipswichwitch · 30/11/2014 23:49

IHeart have a look at B&Q for the tree. DH brought home a leaflet thing from there today and they had a nice slim but not too short tree for a fair bit under £100 - DS2 asleep on my arm so can't go downstairs to find leaflet!

mammmamia · 30/11/2014 23:49

Is there any chance still of getting a Snow Glow Elsa? Have been looking for ages but keep missing stock.

daddykyller · 01/12/2014 00:14

For those of you who are twitching or are overwhelmed by your bargains that you dont know what to do with, the Met Police have launched their gift appeal for kids in care.

Another mnetter has started a thread but I thought I would let you all know.

Argos have the fitbit flex at £59 but use discount code fit30 for 30% off bringing it down to £41.99! Not quite tescos £40 but with click and collect it's not bad.
