Me! Smile

I am already listening to Christmas music and counting down the hours Grin

But this year I'm actually waiting far longer than I normally would - will be putting up the tree and a few candle arrangements about two weeks into dec and then adding fresh foliage on the 23rd or 24th.

WalkingWolf · 13/10/2014 18:54

Me! So excited! I've been buying new decorations over the last few weeks and I can't wait to put them up.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 13/10/2014 19:04

chomping at the bit here.

Chomp chomp chomp Grin

waithorse · 13/10/2014 19:06

So excited. Grin

WalkingWolf · 13/10/2014 19:14

Oh and I moved house this year and our staircase is in the living room. Excited to have a garland down the stairs.

Me!
But I've a house move to get through first. What's keeping me going is the thought that by the time I've moved, it'll "soon" be time to get the Christmas decorations up!!

HolgerDanske · 13/10/2014 19:18

I love my staircase in the living room Smile

Chottie · 13/10/2014 19:19

Fantastic! what's everyone planning on doing decoration wise this year? I will have a homemade Christmas wreath on the door, a tree in the lounge and a glass vase full of silver twigs with little star lights on them in the kitchen. There will also be a Christmas arrangement in the hall and I will make a candle and greenery arrangement for the table centre.

I'm not sure if I'm excited or terrified! Dd will be 20 months in December and I'm sure she's going to adore the decorations but I'm just not sure how I'm going to arrange them so she can't get to them, or pull the tree on herself Confused

ItStillLooksLikeRainDear · 13/10/2014 19:23

Ooh me too. I currently have my newly purchased large nativity set sitting in a big box in the hallway... Just waiting for me to add a little straw for authenticity.

V excited this year, first year in our new house & first one staying at home for many, many years!

cooki3monst3r · 13/10/2014 19:29

I have to say, as much as I like to be well prepared I don't like having the decs up too early.

For me the christmas decs mean it's all on the downward spiral to being over. Sad

Plus, I like to feel like come christmas the decs are still exciting!

One year, I got so excited about Christmas I put the decorations and tree up at the beginning of December. Come the 21st I was so sick of the sight of them, they came down before christmas had even arrived!

badgerknowsbest · 13/10/2014 19:30

I'm excited first christmas in our new home can't wait to decorate.... However I'm not as excited as the house opposite who decorated for Christmas three weeks ago Hmm

I love Christmas decorations but not until mid December.

currieaddict · 13/10/2014 19:49

Me. I treat myself to new disney decorations each year. The 2014 supply came today - dated bauble, tree topper and some snow globes.

JessesGirl · 13/10/2014 19:49

I can't wait either Grin planning to have the hallway re-decorated by then so I can go all out wishful thinking !!

NorksEnormous · 13/10/2014 19:50

Oh me!!! I am moving house at the end of this month to a much bigger place with a huge window, can't wait to get a big tree infront of it!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 13/10/2014 20:12

Really excited, I bought a new tree topper yesterday. Going full on nordic in the living room and the tree in the hall is up to dd.

TheFutureSupremeRulersMum · 13/10/2014 20:13

Me! I bought two new tree decorations at the weekend (I really like John Lewis' selection this year). Still can't decide if we'll have a tree this year though as DD will only be 2 and I think she's very likely to pull the decorations off for fun and break them.

LokiBear · 13/10/2014 21:41

Me! I'm halfway through properly decorating my lounge - diner and I can't wait to see it firstly, done and secondly, decorated for Christmas! We have a new corner unit sofa coming in the first week of Dec. The Dec's will go up around then. I'm really excited!

Mrsgrumble · 13/10/2014 21:49

I have always disliked Christmas but last year I had my first baby and this year I will have our second :)

So it's happier now. I am buying a new tree - full one instead of a cheapy old threadbare one.

I am getting a pre lit garland for the fireplace and have a chunky wooden white Noel letters. For the mirror above the fireplace i have an M&S wreath in white berry so the look will be simple. I am going to get the Matalan range of decorations - white, tartan and sage green.

Though decrations are mostly green and white, for the red is more red berry style. I already have a red berry heart wreath for the door and pearl fairly lights for the kitchen window, red berry centrepiece for the Christmas table.

AtlanticDrift · 13/10/2014 21:54

I have just decorated for halloween at the minute so that will keep the Christmas pangs at bay for a while. November will be finishing jobs/decorating touch ups around the house and then December 1st I shall unleash all things festive

HandMini · 13/10/2014 21:55

Me. I'm going to get started by making this - funcraftskids.com/christmas-tree-crafts-sticks/. It will not be a fun craft for kids, it will be a fun craft for me so I can do it nicely and prettily!

nic013 · 13/10/2014 22:43

I've got the tree out and decorated it with halloween stuff. I'll put it away at the begining of November, though. :)

nic013 · 13/10/2014 22:46

I'll probably do a winter wonderland theme from November onwards. Maybe a few snowflake garlands and some blue fairy lights.
