Thanks for the quote spotty

As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

I'm getting a bit sporadic in what makes it to the OP (I can't put everything on or it would take up the whole thread!) so if you think I've missed something good please let me know.

Just read this review for the inflatable Dino: Took it on a lads holiday! He was named Cee Lo Green and he was our best friend! Until he was brutally stabbed in a club! We will not rest until we will find his killer!
Grin

Waitingonasunnyday · 13/10/2014 15:56

Poor Cee Lo Green! What's the world coming to when an inflatable dinosaur can't even enjoy a holiday Sad

MsAspreyDiamonds · 13/10/2014 16:15

Bought a salmon wellington from Aldi for 3.99. Will easily feed 4 so will buy another few for seasonal meals.

The Works are selling character annuals for 4, usual rrp 7.99.

Uptheairymountain · 13/10/2014 16:17

My local Asda (Orrell Park L30) had multipacks of 3 x Barbie Kinder Eggs for 75p - nice stocking fillers, maybe in other stores?

Chimchar · 13/10/2014 16:37

For people looking at lego, if you join their VIP club, you earn points on everything you spend, and it quickly adds up if you're buying something big to give you money off your next purchase, so free lego!

They also do lots of offers if you spend over a certain amount, you get special edition free gifts, so if you can't find a cheap deal, it may still be worth your while buying via lego direct.

I have put a search thing on hotukdeals which tells me everytime someone posts a lego deal. You can do it with any word, so lego, minecraft, Disney, frozen etc deals will come through straight away.

almamatters Coast has departments in bigger stores like Debenhams and Frasers. You could find out which in your area and watch for their discount days. We did this last year, Buchanan Street Glasgow, truly awful service in Coast very empty store. Crossed the road to Frasers and got 20% of and very helpful staff in a heavingly busy store :)

Barbeasty · 13/10/2014 16:50

Admiral we grow a vine and have had grapes once (in about 5 years) but our neighbour has one in a sunnier spot and gets them more often.

would she be interested in something like a tour of Highgrove gardens? You can get a voucher I think, then she could book when convenient. Or national garden centre vouchers?

Chocolateteabag · 13/10/2014 16:54

Admiral - my DM and aunt have their grape vines in a poly tunnel and greenhouse respectively (West Cumbria). They need quite a bit of overhead space and relative warmth (unless MIl is on south coast?) - they both have blueberries outside but the vines inside - if that helps?

How about a "voucher" for a day of work from a gardener in the spring? Someone to come and do a days clearing out and tidying up? Depending on her garden and gardening style, I know my mum would love that as plenty of dead leaves and muck to clean away.

Mipe · 13/10/2014 16:56

Admiral I think your vine idea is lovely and if your MIL likes growing fruit she will surely love it and look after it ??.

AllThatGlistens · 13/10/2014 17:03

Thanks so much for the suggestions and links for the fireman costumes, tis very much appreciated Flowers

itwillbecold · 13/10/2014 17:11

AllThatGlistens I have nothing to do with this company and I am not advertising. PlaywearPlus make real life dressing up outfits that are easy to get on and off. Most tops are tabard style and velcro. I have just received a scrubs outfit from them. It was not a bargain but I am really pleased. Personalisation is not extra. Pretend you didn't see the name on this one :)

I know someone who grows grapes in their conservatory, the roots are outside. It's been there about 10yrs and starting to crop really well.

zipzap · 13/10/2014 17:42

SuperM ELC used to have a large inflatable dinosaur that was probably about 4 ft high. There used to be one inflated in the local shop - I'm sure I still saw him there fairly recently!

Hang on a sec, they do still have them...

supermariossister · 13/10/2014 17:44

how scared would the kids be if I plonked it in the middle of the room middle of the night christmas eve Grin.

zipzap · 13/10/2014 17:49

AllThatGlistens Costco had some good costumes in when we went at the weekend - and in sizes up to at least 7-8. Boys costumes were I think about £16 whilst the girls ones were about £10 Angry - guess who has boys!

They had some quite unusual ones in - ds2 fell in love with a ninja costume and an astronauts one - the latter had a helmet made from fabric which I suspect might make it safer than a plastic one that could break. They also had things like policeman and fireman.

admiralclingus · 13/10/2014 18:06

Thanks for everyones advice re: the vine

I'll have a rethink and see if its worth it. I know one of our neighbours has lots of vines (only live a couple of roads away from ILS) so I might ask them how theirs have turned out?

tanya1312 · 13/10/2014 18:11

superm this is the inflatable dinosaur www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00BSN1CAU/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1VQZSDLENKITW

chanie44 · 13/10/2014 18:19

My OH fell in love with the children's costumes in Costco and insisted ds 'needed' a firemans outfit, although he was eyeing up the ninja one.

It's very good quality, lovely thick material ad attention to detail like pockets etc.

daddykyller · 13/10/2014 18:47

izzybizzybuzzybees · 13/10/2014 19:22

The first review of that top is hilarious daddy

dandelionsRflowers · 13/10/2014 19:23

almamatters I'd given up getting a Frozen busy book from HB, there wasn't even a space on the shelf for them last Wednesday, I went in again on Saturday for something else and the shelves were full of them.

margaritasbythesea · 13/10/2014 19:25

Grape vinescan grow fine in the uk but not if I was in a windy spot. Are National garden centre vouchers too boring? Most gardeners are desperate for funds to feed their addiction.

TheFantasticMrsFox · 13/10/2014 19:32

Bahhahaha, I love this thread. Surely "genuine Minecraft tits" must make the next title, and could I also suggest the phrase "Google goggles", just because it made me chuckle? :o
