Every year I struggle with stockings for dd 12 1/2 and dss 11 here's what I've got/planned to get so far more suggestion appreciated.

DD
Doodle iphone case
Vaseline spray moisturiser
Jack wills socks
Bar of chocolate
Swim hat
Purse
Barry M eyeshadow set
Galaxy chocolate spread tube
Tangle teezer
Lip balms
Body spray

Dss

Toblerone
Socks
Magazine
Lynx spray

Dss is so hard as he doesn't do toys and I like to buy things they'd use rather than tatt.

pens pencils for school?
Maglite torch (small pocket/keyring size one)
bike tool ( www.amazon.co.uk/Bike-Tool-Plus-Punture-Repair/dp/B0013BEY8E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1410956482&sr=8-5&keywords=bike+tool)
costa/starbucks giftcard
iTunes card (prefer the costa ones as can get £5)
mini microscope (www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002E0MU70/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A18UHS58KY15G2)

kissmyheathenass · 17/09/2014 13:30

So far mine have a bottle of coke with their name on. That's it so far!

For ds who is 14 and hard to buy for as he only wants money, I will get him a PlayStation network card and/or a Google play card, Lynx, chocolate, jelly beans, a mug (he loves science so last year I got him a periodic tables mug and will look for something similar this year) and more chocolate, .

I wont buy tatt which ends up in the bin so ds is difficult. My dds are so much easier.

Hoping for some ideas on this thread.

spottymoo · 17/09/2014 13:31

Mini microscope ordered thank you Grin

We do go to costa regularly but we go as a family and then it's on bank of mum & dad but in future years when their solo that's be a great idea.

my ds is 12 and really difficult to buy for so I feel your pain!

Those tubes of sweets for £1 from the supermarket go down well, long round tubes of smarties, minstrals, fruit pastilles etc.

sachets of hot chocolate?

does he have his own door key? a 'cool' keyring this went down well last year www.superdry.com/mens/other-accessories/details/48981/key-ring

jack wills bracelet www.jackwills.com/en-gb/product/dursley-waxed-strand-band-10000609001

jack wills pens (they do pink as well and only £2) www.jackwills.com/en-gb/product/emsworth-pen-10000426202

these went down well with teen cousins last year as well, I added them to topshop gift cards www.jackwills.com/en-gb/product/malaria-no-more-bracelet-01349400102

these cups are good, different patterns so boy/girl options. im pretty sure ive seen them in primark cheaper as well. www.paperchase.co.uk/gifts/home-and-kitchen-gifts/lunch-boxes-bottles/gaucho-glam-cup-with-straw.html

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 17/09/2014 13:57

just seen these for ds2, www.topman.com/en/tmuk/product/shoes-and-accessories-1928527/gifts-novelties-140861/war-on-error-rubbers-3359159?bi=1&ps=20

17 yr old ds, liked these last year although again pretty sure I got them in primark for £2-3, means they can still use their smart phone/ipod with gloves on. www.topman.com/en/tmuk/product/shoes-and-accessories-1928527/gloves-3304856/black-touchscreen-gloves-165610?bi=1&ps=20 girls seem to like them as much and ive seen them on amazon and ebay in other colours including pinks/purples.

MehsMum · 17/09/2014 14:03

Mine get various school supplies like Pritt stick, pens etc. Also tissues

I second the keyring idea above - have used that in the past. Does he have any use for gloves or a scarf? Is he a reader with known tastes in sci-fi or crime? Any sort of hair gel? Whacky shoe laces? Is he doing anything outdoorsy that might require a metal mug or camping cutlery?

BreadForBrains · 17/09/2014 14:19

Headphones
Swiss Army knife
Posh chocolate buttons
Magazine
Mug

Urban outfitters have quirky stocking fillers.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/09/2014 14:47

For DS (who will be 15 at Christmas)
A poster of one of the X-Box games (like Destiny or assassins Creed)
Lynx (of course)
Underwear (much to his disgust)

DD
I'm going to buy shampoo/conditioner minis
Shower gel
She had an eyeshadow palette last year
Make-up brushes

Copy of a magazine is good, then the Subscription as part of the main present

chanie44 · 17/09/2014 15:37

A few more ideas:

Money box
Water bottle
Wallet/purse
Sweets
Playing cards
Deodorant
Pens/stationary
Comics
Books - eg joke book, magic tricks or puzzles
Mini football
Rucksack/bag

kissmyheathenass · 17/09/2014 16:26

This is a good mug - www.thepresentfinder.co.uk/buy/the-teenagers-mug-whatever!_826.htm

Also packs of indoor sparklers on the same site might be good stocking fillers.

spottymoo · 18/09/2014 09:58

Love some of the mugs but I do hot chocolate bags each year and always add a mug to that.

He doesn't have a set of keys for here yet as he's never in the house alone theirs always one of us with him I've added some ideas for future stocking though GrinGrin

He's a nightmare to buy for it use to be dd but now she's older and more girly it's easy.

We have adult dds so for them stocking fillers include booze miniatures, knickers, nail polish, fake nails, body spray, toothbrush, sweets, notebooks, fun things from campus gifts or waldo pancake, Costa vouchers, earrings etc.
For Ds who is 12 it will be body spray, socks, torch, survival type gadgets, small tech stuff, pens, fun boxers, stickers, something gross like jelly eyeballs or fake snot!

Lovelydiscusfish · 19/09/2014 06:52

Could you get dss a memory stick? He will start needing them for school work soon, I would think, and it seems you can get them in quit fun designs now.

Stupidhead · 19/09/2014 07:21

I want to kiss whoever put the microscope link up!!!! I have 3 boys and a big one so they're all getting one - pucker up!!!

Yes sachets of hot choc, most supermarkets do 4 for £1. A pack of Top Trumps (but the funny nerd or poo ones), stick on tattoos, a 99p hot wheels car (they never grow up), small cheap NERF gun (DP took his to work last year), Pringles tube (to stop a 'hogging the Pringles' war), keyrings, torch, microbe plushie (google!).

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 19/09/2014 10:22

The Gift section on ASOS or Topshop is quite good for this sort of thing.

Vicky5910 · 19/09/2014 23:45

Loving this thread. I like to get a few small bits for family members, the 12-18 age bracket is the hardest! I'm writing down these ideas!

missmargot · 20/09/2014 10:55

DSS is 14, last Christmas he was 13 and his stocking fillers were:

Tube of Pringles
Giant box of Jaffa cakes
Skin products
Emergency phone charger (called a Power Tube I think)
Mains phone charger with a light up cable
Miracle Frooties
Pop tarts
Fisheye lens for phone cameras
Slush cuppy
Spoof Biohazard and Crime Scene tapes for his bedroom door
Socks
Set of weatherproof protective plastic bags for his phone

ohtheholidays · 20/09/2014 11:00

Will be borrowing some of these ideas, thank you OP have 5DC,4 of them older DC and I always struggle with they're stockings.

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2014 11:12

Perfect thread. DS is 13 and I'm fed up buying tat he doesn't use.

Even some of the fab (I thought) suggestion on here last year didn't get used!

So far I have a Jack Wills shower gel and bracelet thing.

spottymoo · 20/09/2014 17:50

Today I picked dd a thin skull scarf up from primark and a twister ice lolly lip balm.

Also got some minion earrings off ebay as well Grin

Girls are so easy!

I have my sis, BIL and five year old niece coming for Xmas and I wasn't sure I my sis did a stocking as we weren't brought up with stockings. I was hoping she didn't and I was going to do one. But she does. Sad. Was so looking forward to doing a girlie one.

Hopefully I can help!
