Every year I struggle with stockings for dd 12 1/2 and dss 11 here's what I've got/planned to get so far more suggestion appreciated.

DD
Doodle iphone case
Vaseline spray moisturiser
Jack wills socks
Bar of chocolate
Swim hat
Purse
Barry M eyeshadow set
Galaxy chocolate spread tube
Tangle teezer
Lip balms
Body spray

Dss

Toblerone
Socks
Magazine
Lynx spray

Dss is so hard as he doesn't do toys and I like to buy things they'd use rather than tatt.

I agree girls are so easy we cover the main things Dss likes in his main presents although I've seen things that will fit in his stocking their at the £20 mark and I don't want to spend that on bits as it'll soon mount up.

I've just been into quality save for food items and came out with these which were all less than £1;

2x angry birds flannels
Superman shower foam
2x Horrid Henry bubble bath/body wash large pouches
Iron Man shaped body wash

These will be for DSS1 (10) and DSS2 (9) and added to the light up bike wheel valves and finger lights I've already bought plus a tin of lynx / hair gel each and assorted edible goodies. Love this thread for more ideas tho Grin.

Chottie · 21/09/2014 17:37

stepmum2b please can you give some more info about light up bike wheel valves and finger lights?* I have DNs 16 and 13 to buy bits for.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 21/09/2014 19:01

Chottie- amazon. Finger lights brings loads up about 60p a pack including post from china though so order in plenty of time.
Think the others are LCD bike valve lights.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 21/09/2014 19:03

Hoter bike led light. 67p amazon search term.

Spottymoo - I still do stockings for my three boys (aged 17, 19, and 21) - and one thing I always put in is posh hot chocolate powder, mini marshmallows, and squirty cream (that has to go in the fridge until we pack the stockings, but as the front room is cool over night, there has never been a problem with it going off).

Consumables are good - I gave mine interesting hot sauces (like reggae reggae sauces) in little bottles so they could spice up their food. In previous years, I've put in nice biscuits from M&S.

spottymoo · 21/09/2014 19:14

I do hot chocolate gift sets so shot myself in the foot with that one years ago with regards to putting them in stockings.

great ideas here, have ds's and am really fed up buying the same old thing every year!

TheFantasticMrsFox · 23/09/2014 09:06

The pack of M&S mini gingerbread men is now obligatory in DS's stocking :o
He also has stuff like nice plectrums rather than the bog standard ones I normally buy because he loses them all the time Pokemon cards (at nearly £4 a packet ) WackySox and Joules boxers like DH's (which I can't seem to get hold of this year Hmm)
I also find stuff like Marshmallow Fluff takes up a lot of space and is a rare treat :)

missmargot · 23/09/2014 09:51

Ooh yes Marshmallow Fluff. I usually do an order from somewhere like Cyber Candy for some obscure foreign sweets which always go down well.

WildFlowersAttractBees · 23/09/2014 10:06

I feel your pain Confused.

So far DD(10) has:
2 pairs of tights
5pk socks
Necklace and bracelet set from accessorize
3pk earrings
Key ring
Lip balm
Hair Chalk
Purse
Notebook and pencils
Nail polish and nail jewels
A tube of pink smarties
Ring pop
Push pop

DS(12) has:
Socks x 5
Boxers
Marvel notebook and pencils
Movie clip board
Galaxy projextor
Jelly bean jigsaw
Deodorant
Nice plectrums
Batteries (it is a standing joke the amount he goes through for is X box)
Tube of smarties
Push pop
Ring Pop

Still need a few more things for DS and will add cinema vouchers and iTunes vouchers to them both nearer the time.

InFlagranteDelicto · 24/09/2014 21:59

Liking these ideas- especially the batteries and headphones! Ds is 10, but AS, and really hard to buy for. Dss isn't with us this Christmas, but I'll need ideas for next year.

Although santa doesn't fill the stockings of boys that announce that he doesn't exist loudly in front of younger dc

combust22 · 24/09/2014 22:22

I am loving these ideas. I am doing stockingd this year for 2 teenagers and 4 adults- including my niece in her 30s who has never had a stocking because of her strict christian upbringing. I can't wait.

Hope I get a stocking too though!

WildFlowersAttractBees · 25/09/2014 09:07

Combust, I fill my own Blush.

combust22 · 25/09/2014 09:08

wildflowers- I think I may have to!!!

TwoNoisyBoys · 27/09/2014 20:27

thegreylady · 30/09/2014 08:09

I am 70 and have always had a stocking. Every year we fill them for 8 adults and 8 dc as well as for each other. We tried telling our dc that Santa didn't come once you turned 40 but dss was so sad about it that we made a 3 hour dash down the motorway to meet up with him and hand over stockings for him, his dw and their dc. I am not kidding...he is 45 now!

clr2014 · 01/10/2014 21:23

paper soap either for campers or just novelty value

clip towel for wet bike seats etc?
