What are they into? Trying to come up with ideas for DSD who wants everything on the telly. She's 8 in may but quite young for it.

She enjoys monster high dolls, crafting, littlest pet shop, harry potter and rainbow magic.

So far I've got her a pop up Harry potter book, a monster high doll and a craft box.

So far dd (8 in Jan) has asked for
Gooey Louie
Milk the cow (?)
An inkoo
Sketchers twinkle toes
A bike
Elsa and Anna dress up

JemimaMuddledUp · 15/09/2014 19:32

DD is 8. She likes:

Horses
Lego
Sport - netball, hockey etc
Reading, especially funny books eg Jeremy Strong and Mr Gum
Drawing
But mostly horses.

Short of an actual horse, her ideal Christmas list would probably be:
A big Lego set
Some new decent pencils and sketch books
Shiny trainers
A book about horses

She isn't a very girlie girl though.

TheNightIsDark · 15/09/2014 19:43

Ooh an inkoo. That's been asked for

DSD is very girly. I'm not so I have no idea about presents! When I was 7 all I wanted was the new man utd kit Grin

Lego friends (jungle)
Books about wolves and sharks Smile
Ever After High dolls
A rucksack type school bag - Primark
Build a bear - actual bear or voucher
Books - David Williams, Goth girl book, a bit of Michael Morpurgo
Sketch pad - pencils etc
Microscope
Jewellery box
Those bloody dohvinci craft sets
A giant cuddly toy
Stompeez
Onesies
Anything mermaid related

This is an amalgam of what one of my daughters liked when she was 8 and what her almost 7 year old sister wants.

D0oinMeCleanin · 15/09/2014 19:48

7yo dd2 wants an X Box One (although I am certain Dd1 has told her to ask for this) a million loom bands and charms, a version of Sims that will play on her old, battered laptop, some Lelli Kelli boots and a cat.

She's getting the boots and the loom bands.

D0oinMeCleanin · 15/09/2014 19:52

Almost forgot she wants a my little pony hoody she saw on amazon. The blue pony. Something Flash I think he's called.

TheNightIsDark · 15/09/2014 19:59

Rainbow dash? Christ I'm a pony geek Shock

DSD seems really young going by these lists! I love michael Morpurgo books so will add those to her list. Is it the butterfly lion and 9 lives of Montezuma that are best for this age?

Shopkins....shopkins and more shopkins...that is all...I'm going to try and bulk it out a bit with books, craft stuff and some minecraft related bits..she could also do with a new scooter..

mabelbabel · 15/09/2014 20:36

Dd would love a build a bear voucher, any sets of Lego (city Lego, Lego Movie or Lego friends), books and has asked for a doll. [If anyone can recommend a doll for an 8 year old that would be great].

jamtoast12 · 15/09/2014 20:39

Mabel

I highly recommend design a friend at argos. They are the craze at dds school, they are very pretty and come with extra outfit and accessories. You can get all of it for £30. The doll comes with a charm bracelet for your child and then every extra item (either outfit or accessory) has a charm included so you add to the bracelet. They're lovely. We have all of them now!

D0oinMeCleanin · 15/09/2014 20:40

Rainbow Dash. That's him. She obsessed. She has several items of clothing with his image on already.

She's a massive my little pony fan. All of her friends seem to be too. We're the only ones with Netflix so they all pile in to watch it every afternoon.

NecesitoDormir · 15/09/2014 20:46

My DD got 2 of the Dohvinci sets for her birthday. It doesn't dry. I had to scrape it all off as bits of it kept falling in the carpet. I bought her heated fabric pens instead.

jibadeah · 15/09/2014 20:49

My 7 year old also loves my little pony, monster high and build a bear but we've done these for previous birthdays and xmas so need new ideas this year.

She got Frozen dress up and an Elsa doll for her birthday in May.

She's also quite young for her age and mainly plays with her teddies and dolls. But she has so many we really don't need any more!

I'm thinking of getting her a new scooter, she's still riding her mini micro and it's getting a bit small for her. I may get the maxi micro and some accessories.

midnight100 · 15/09/2014 20:50

You are not her owner

JellySnakesLadderedTights · 15/09/2014 20:52

Illuminating Globe
Disco Ball
Dance Mat
Pogo Stick
Sea Monkeys
Pass the Bomb Junior
Hama Beads
Chalk and Chalkboard
Doll and Doll Clothes

GummiberryJuice · 15/09/2014 20:54

My dd2 will be 8 in Nov, anything crafty, doh-Vinci looks like it might be the new thing.
Monster high
Loom band crap

TheNightIsDark · 15/09/2014 21:09

There's always one.

Thank you everyone. I'm making a list and will run it by DP. If she had her way it would be a million more teddies and we don't have the space!

OP posts:
GummiberryJuice · 15/09/2014 21:16

Sorry just seen necesitos post maybe not doh-Vinci, although my dd has also been asking about fabric pens too.
Although if she had her way the whole Argos book would be on her list.
Frozen bed covers, ever after high dolls

mabelbabel · 15/09/2014 21:16

Jamtoast - thanks for the recommendation, I'll probably go for one of those (sorry for slight hijack, twas relevant I hope).

Dancergirl · 15/09/2014 21:56

mabel I know they're £££ but if your dd likes history I would recommend A Girl for all Time dolls. They bring one out for each historical period. My middle dd loved them when she was about 8-10. She had the Tudor one and the Victorian one over a few years. My youngest dd is 7.5 and would like the Georgian one this year. As I said they are expensive but really beautiful dolls and the history element makes them a bit more interesting.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 15/09/2014 22:19

Mine's asked for roller skates and a new bike so far.

JerseySpud · 15/09/2014 23:54

DD1 willl be just about 8 by christmas and so far she wants

a camera
nerf rebelle heartbreaker bow
A pony.

She is not getting the last one.

lavendersun · 16/09/2014 06:14

My daughter was 7 before she had her first doll - I nearly fell over when she asked for one as it really didn't seem like her thing.

Gotz Hannah dolls are modelled on a 8-9 year old girl I think, have to say that ours is still very well played with.

snowmanshoes · 16/09/2014 07:47

Agree that the design a friend dolls seem to the craze with that age group. My daughter has also shown an interest in the interactive doll. My friend Chloe (friend to the cayla one they only seem to advertise on the tv - she prefers the Chloe one as she wears blue and has more of an auburn/brown hair colouring but of course thats just personal preference) She has also mentioned doh vinci, nerf rebelle, shopkins, chemistry sets and ever after high. Her list is growing daily! (she's 8 but 9, six weeks after Christmas)
