What are they into? Trying to come up with ideas for DSD who wants everything on the telly. She's 8 in may but quite young for it.

She enjoys monster high dolls, crafting, littlest pet shop, harry potter and rainbow magic.

So far I've got her a pop up Harry potter book, a monster high doll and a craft box.

Dd got sylvanians last year (she was 8 in may so a year older than your dsd but also quite young for it in some ways).
Oh and a password journal.
Her birthday this year she got loombands. But she's already quite bored of them.
She got Michael Morpurgo set for her 7th birthday (check book people as the set is often the price of two books elsewhere), is just getting into them now.
She loves roald dahl, david walliams, neil gaiman, st clares series, pippi longstocking, judy moody, goth girl, worst witch...

Lego friends
Heelies

She'd probably love a lot of the craftystuff mentioned here (especially inkoos) but it gives me the rage as it gets used once or twice (or worse HALF USED) then she loses interest.

What you already have on your list sounds like enough in itself though tbh so I wouldn't worry too much.

Dancergirl · 16/09/2014 09:36

lave that is the exact same Hannah doll I got for dd3 last year! She loves her, does her hair etc.

The Gotz clothes are quite expensive but I found a company called Frilly Lilly that makes clothes to fit her. I bought a nightie and school uniform which dd loves!

strawberryowl · 16/09/2014 10:29

Lego, lego, lego, rainbow loom, lego. This was my daughter's birthday list last week.
Digital Camera
Pretty stationary
Gift cards
Hot wires electronics kit (to make a lie detector Confused)
Jelly beans
Djeco art kits

Good luck - it's quite a tricky age I think.

lavendersun · 16/09/2014 16:10

Dancer - we make clothes here, Gotz clothes are very expensive - DD makes simple dresses etc. and I get roped in to making trousers, jackets, ball gown type things. My daughter loves it and it is a good thing to do on a rainy day!

mabelbabel · 16/09/2014 16:23

The Gotz doll is nice. Pricey, but nice. A grandparent may have to be roped in if we went for that one...

Taffeta · 16/09/2014 17:08

DD likes Monster High, Nail varnish, Frozen, music, football, and she wants

A hamster.

hotmamalovespavlova · 16/09/2014 17:54

The hotwires kit is a winner my DD 7 got it for Christmas last year and has lots of fun with it.

Showy · 16/09/2014 18:00

My May born dd wants a ninja turtle play set, Lego, anything Les Mis related and all the books. She isn't girly at all I'm afraid. Oh and Superheroes.

Waitingonasunnyday · 16/09/2014 18:14

I think it's a hard age as DD (nearly 8) has 8 years worth of teddies and toys and not used yet craft sets and playmobil and all too long lasting and good quality to throw away, but what's the point of buying more bloody stuff!!!

[no help at all sorry]

miaowmix · 16/09/2014 18:19

I own one of these Wink and she's not remotely girly, wants a drum kit (NOT getting am afraid due to the noise factor), more loom bands, all the above mentioned books, and anything 1D/5 seconds of summer related. Pokemon stuff. And a puppy. She wants a puppy (not just for Christmas, i know)...

TheNightIsDark · 16/09/2014 18:19

Grin DD (4) is the tomboy. DSD is very princessy. Grabbed 2 monster high dolls together for £10 in toys r us and the monster high headmistress and horse for £12.50 so her present pile is looking better.

For the first time ever I have millions of ideas for DD but I'm struggling for DSD and DS1! This thread has given me some excellent ideas though.

Any book suggestions? I can't deal with much more rainbow magic! I've put Morpurgo on the list.

Waitingonasunnyday · 16/09/2014 18:22

There is something from Usborne that DD likes, I think it's a series called Violet Mackerel (or Haddock or something). Also Dick king Smith.

Taffeta · 16/09/2014 18:23

Books DD likes

Goth Girl
Ottoline
New David Walliams - Awful Auntie
Morpurgos Pinocchio (this is DDs fave)
Fortunately the Milk
Atticus Claw

JiltedJohnsJulie · 16/09/2014 22:01

Dd likes

ottoline
Goth girl
daisy and the trouble with
Fortunately the milk and
horrid Henry

Hadn't heard of Do Vinci. Might get some for DD she loves that kind of shit

kissmyheathenass · 17/09/2014 13:37

My dd, (8 in February) likes science so she will be getting gross science kit, maybe another science kit (soap laboratory?), a mini microscope, and the same books listed above (morpurgo, new david walliams yaaay). She also wants those awful slippers with flappy ears which look like shit and probably wont work Stompeez. Big present is a bike so she will get a new helmet, bell etc etc for that.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/09/2014 15:45

Lucky girl kiss.

stealthsquiggle · 17/09/2014 15:57

Oh thank god. DD is eight in a couple of weeks and I have no idea what to get her. Inkoo looks good, but we are entirely stuck for a "big" present. She has a camera, she saved for ages and bought DH's old iPad off him, she got a new (secondhand) bike over the summer because it was cheaper than fixing the one she had inherited from DS. She's not getting a bloody pony, but I have no ideas left. Fact is, she doesn't need anything.

TheRealMaryMillington · 17/09/2014 16:12

DD wants a kitten, or chickens, or a rabbit

Not happening

JiltedJohnsJulie · 18/09/2014 09:21

Stealth does she have a scooter? Does she actually need a big present? Could you get her a few smaller presents? Is there a zoo nearby? Perhaps you could get her an annual pass?

Kim82 · 18/09/2014 09:26

Dd2 is 7 and is into anything and everything.

When outside she loves her bike, scooter, hula hoop and roller skates.

Inside she will spend hours writing stories, drawing pictures, singing along to music, reading. She also loves any kind of board game, aqua beads, dressing up, Lego friends, teddies (particularly the build a bear type with different outfits). She'd also love new clothes, shoes and pjs. She's very easily pleased!

stealthsquiggle · 18/09/2014 09:27

JiltedJohns - I am coming to the conclusion that this is going to be a "several smaller present" year. She does have a scooter. She thinks she wants a skateboard, but it's not a good idea - we have no flat space at all for her to play with it - her scooter only works because it is a big one with tyres and everything rather than the microscooter variety, so she can hurtle down the garden on it.

She has been reading the mulberry toys catalogue in the car - I think her list is going to grow tonight. And she wants some character shoes for ballet, which is a good one to point grandparents at.

stealthsquiggle · 18/09/2014 09:30

Pyjamas. Excellent point. I generally save that one for Christmas, though.

If I had time to sort out and rearrange her room, she would dearly love a dressing table - but apart from the room reorganisation thing, I am concerned that would make it even harder to get her downstairs on time in the morning. She did get her bed as a birthday present a couple of years ago.

noideawottoget · 18/09/2014 12:27

dd2 will be 9 in march. so far she is getting
a bike
rio 2 on dvd
an inflatable dinosaur
the new pokemon game for her 3ds (not from me, from her uncle but she asked for it)

no idea what else

JiltedJohnsJulie · 18/09/2014 18:43

rio 2 does sound good but am loathe to buy DVDs as she hardly ever watches any and don't think DS has ever put one on yet.

She will be getting some more Harumika. Home Bargains has got lots in so my DSister has bought her a case for £9.99, its £19.99 on Yellow Moon.
