Lottie doll?

Hi, just wondering if little girls actually like Lottie dolls.

I am all for the idea and think they look very sweet, but I have a feeling Lottie would be spurned in favour of Barbie-style dolls.
Does anyone's DD have one?

She just looks cheap. My DDs like Designa Friend dolls. Bigger than that but gorgeous and with great outfits. here

My 8 year old likes the look of these although I agree they look at bit cheapy and like those Blythe LPS dolls I think. She likes the ballet one and has a ballet show coming up in November so may get her one for that, but I'm not convinced from the pictures.

Thanks for the comments, cheap is not what I'm going for so I'll have a look at some other dolls (just not Barbie!)

Nothing new there, really? It looks pretty much like the generic plastic dolls I remember having myself as a kid (admittedly not wearing leggings). The face is exactly the same.
It's certainly not different enough to take on Barbie...

My girls have Lottie dolls. I like them and they do too. They have lovely hair and are a nice size for carrying around. I don't think they look cheap IRL

When we got DD her dollhouse for her third birthday we got two Lottie dolls to play with, they are pricey at £16 each and not super great quality but really they are fine, just not slick like Barbie.

Obviously DD is only three so we haven't had the same pressures to buy the latest and greatest doll but I think Lottie dolls are really great, for those who for their own reasons/preferences do not want to bring over sexualised, commercialised dolls into a pre schoolers play. We have started the way we hope to carry on, DD isnt really a doll kid anyhow but I don't see any reason why we would purchase a Barbie or Bratz type of doll in the future.

If you are looking for a larger doll that isnt sexualised then Designafriend are good and the Gotz dolls are really nice too. Totally different play possibilities tho.

I think Lottie dolls are more identifiable for little girls, they really do look like a 10yr old girl... not a 5yr old like the Chelsea dolls or an adult like Barbie so they definitely have appeal for young girls IMO

I think they have appeal as ANOTHER doll, but I don't think they are going to take ovr from the barbies. The main thing about barbie is that it is now a brand in itself- there are barbie cars and dream houses and ponies and planes and pets and bloody pizza ovens.... Including a TV series now.

I think maybe in 20 or so years when the lottie doll is able to expand into that much of the market (which obviously would be extremely hard to do considering the niche in the market previously exploited by barbie is now an oligopoly of various monster highs, lotties, sindies, ever after high, equestria high I could go on and on and on) then it may be able to compete.

I agree with the principal of the lottie doll, I do... I just don't think it's on th end of world domination- or even small child domination!

Lottie doll for girls have found that girls have brothers and that some of them want dolls like Lottie so they also make a boy doll called Finn. Finn does not have a Finn Super Hero outfit.

If you want to offer a Super-Hero outfit to the brother of your daughter you can't buy one.

I have put together the graphic materials you need to convert a Lottie superhero outfit into one for Finn, including the packaging front and back and the logos you need to stick on the clothes. I did this for my grandson but I assume others may have the same problem so you will find the materials you need to do the conversion here: www.finnsuperhero.uk/

I just bought a Lottie doll for my 5 year old daughter, and she absolutely loves it. I've been watching her play with it, and am thrilled she's so into her new doll. She immediately went to her closet and put on similar clothes as the doll. She's excited and asked me to get her the others. Shock

It's great to see a company make real dolls that look like the average 9 year old. I'm fed up with seeing over sexualised dolls parading with makeup and jewellery. The Bratz dolls are awful looking - great for adults, but not small impressionable girls. Barbie has created generations of girls who are striving to possess that unhealthy body image. The moral compass from Lottie is awesome and refreshing, and I'm more than happy to support them.

I got my son the boy one. I don't think it's cheap tbh, the clothes are lovely. The scooter was a bit flimsy but it's survived. He loves it. Doesn't get a lot of play but he does cherish it. Called it after him Grin

What I like the best (and a mummy friend with a little girl likes) is the wider choice of characters. Such as astronomer, judo lottie etc.

Has anyone got a toy car that the Lottie doll will fit in? I'm guessing a Barbie car will be too big and a Lori car will be too small?

My dds age 6 and 4 both really like lottie dolls. The ballet and snow queen ones are most popular. I don't think they are any cheaper looking than Barbie and the clothes are much nicer.

My DD (6) has 2 Lottie dolls (school girl and rainy day). She really likes them. They are great for days out etc as they fit so easily into my handbag!

I think Lottie dolls suffer from not having a Carry case/wardrobe type accessory. They haves lot of little pieces to them and I think my DD would enjoy them more with purpose-designed storage

My kids loved their Lottie dolls (as did I), I didn't think they looked cheap at all. I thought they were lovely.

Does anyone know if the Lottie dolls are an ok size for kid Kraft houses? Concerned they will feel too small ok then but my 4 yr old really wants a doll house and loves her lotties

I love them. And the hair doesn't tangle! It's like magic.

And as everyone else has said, Barbie feels very odd and sexualized in comparison.

DD huge Lottie doll fan here too as am I. She plays with them as little girls like her and identifies with them. They do live in a barbie house though as no Lottie house exists

My 6 yo has 3 now and plays with them a lot. I initially got her one because she kept getting given Barbie's (which I gave away and swapped her for a Lottie) but she requested the next two for birthday/ Christmas presents.

@JennaRainbow, my DD plays with them in her kidkraft dolls house fine.

We love the Lottie dolls, DD wants to be a scientist when she grows up and loves that there's a stargazer and a robot girl.

They are gorgeous quality and just lovely dolls.
