Anyone know when these appear in the shops, am thinking matalan or next I guess. I really want some for the dc but left it too late last yr. I want something bright and colourful. I know M and S did them last year but theirs were quite tasteful - Scandinavian reindeer type. I want a large Santa type thing Grin

I have ordered a Christmassy duvet set for DS (he'll be 15 so I can't dress his bed up too much Grin ) .
It's a red sheet, red duvet cover with snowflakes and 2 pillowcases.
After Christmas he can turn it over - the back is plain red on the duvet.

Still need to get DD bedcovers- she's after the Primark woodland animals

LikeSilver · 24/09/2014 13:59

I got this on Amazon for dd.

WellTidy · 24/09/2014 14:37

That's lovely LikeSilver. What's the quality on that like IRL please? Is it quite soft or a bit scratchy? I bought DS1's in Next Outlet last year for 6 (reduced from about 18 or so) and it is lovely quality.

LikeSilver · 24/09/2014 14:52

WellTidy IMO it's not as good quality/soft as the (non-Christmassy) Next set I recently bought for DD's bed, but neither is it any worse than the Primark set we have in our spare bedroom. I figured it would be fine for a couple of weeks with a bit of fabric softener!

(That said, I may well be a slattern, having not thought anything negative of the Mothercare Christmas PJs currently blasted on another thread Wink)

WellTidy · 24/09/2014 15:05

LikeSilver I am toying between the one that you bought and this one for DS2. They're both a poly cotton mix. I don't really want to spend much more than this, so I figure that this is the quality that your money buys you!

I have also bought the mothercare pyjamas for both DSs 2 pairs for 10 in the reindeer pattern. They will be fine for the number of times they'll be worn over Christmas.

LikeSilver · 24/09/2014 15:10

WellTidy Love that print, however they will be exactly the same in quality as according to Amazon they're both Catherine Lanesfield Smile

WellTidy · 24/09/2014 15:24

I'm going with the snowmen LoveSilver. 14.99 and free postage. Can't go far wrong. Unless of course Next bring out a really nice one in the next few weeks ...

IsItMeOr · 26/09/2014 10:42

Next one here is calling to me for DS. I have a feeling DH thinks I am getting over-excited...

drivenbyyou · 26/09/2014 11:32

Matalan has theirs in:

www.matalan.co.uk/events/christmas/christmas-home-accessories-and-furnishings/s2575727/christmas-print-duvet-single-set

I know that's online, but they have christmas stuff in my local store.

Oldraver · 26/09/2014 19:41

The Next link isnt working not that we need another Christmas Duvet

loubielou31 · 26/09/2014 19:47

The Range had christmassy, (red and white and reindeery, nordicy) bed sets and fleeces and things in at the weekend.

Oldraver · 26/09/2014 20:57

This John Lewis one is lovely

IsItMeOr · 26/09/2014 22:05

Does this Next link work?

WhereYouLeftIt · 26/09/2014 22:36

I really liked the trees one from M&S - and then I saw the husky pups ...

Has anyone seen any nice double Christmas duvets for children, ideally 100% cotton?

They seem to mostly be single and a polyester/cotton mix.

iloveholidays · 27/09/2014 06:30

Has anyone seen any nice cheap throws?

I read last year about someone changing their child's duvet cover to Christmas themed one so they'd wake on the 1st with it on. Not sure I'd get away (or can be bothered to do this for 3 beds in the dark) so thought about getting throws instead.

Thanks

LokiBear · 27/09/2014 07:59

I got lovely throws from dunhelm last year. I want a double for me! The m&s ones are lovely but I don't want to pay that much. Any ideas?

Guitargirl · 27/09/2014 08:40

Iloveholidays, we did that last year, it was really funny waking up in the morning to hear the DCs all surprised. But what I did the day before was put the Christmas cover on first then the normal one on top so in the middle of the night all I had to do was whip off the top cover and quickly put it back, which made it easier.

tanya1312 · 27/09/2014 09:20

Want a nice Xmas kingsize for my bed :) if anyone sees any for reasonable price x

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/09/2014 10:19

Ooh I love the M&S Trees one - (the husky one is nice but I think waking up to those eyes would give me nightmare Wink )

I got a couple of throws from Dunelm Mill last year , they are maybe double bed sized?

iloveholidays · 27/09/2014 11:02

Ah, I love that idea Guitar. If I can't find any throws I'll go for that. Will check the range and dunelm mill. Thanks

lavendersun · 27/09/2014 16:32

I have just bought this in a double size for my daughter's room

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reindeer-Xmas-Kids-Rudolph-Duvet-Cover-p-case-s-Bedding-Bed-Set-Christmas-/381005667193?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Bedroom_Bedding_PP&var=&hash=item58b5b51b79

£18 delivered.

AtlanticDrift · 27/09/2014 17:13

Patchesmcp, they seem to be non existent. Dd and eldest ds are in doubles and the only thing I could ever find was the nordic style ones, which are lovely (I have one for my bed) but not really children's ones iykwim. The best I could to was to buy them christmassy throws & this year I'm going to look out for some cushions too

AtlanticDrift · 27/09/2014 17:14

Oh! Just seen your post lavendar! Great find

patchesmcp · 27/09/2014 17:36

lavendersun that looks really nice. Can you let me know what it's like when it arrives please?
