would you be ready?

Our gifts are done.
We have a turkey crown, sausage meat and stuffing.

I would need:
Veg and trimmings
Puddings
Snacks
Drinks
And a team of cleaners to do the blitz I'm trying to fit in around work.

Are you ready

It depends how much you're planning for your Christmas celebrations Gold - if it's mainly for your own family and a nice meal for them with help from DH - then you can do quite a bit in 2 weeks ? crosses fingers

I don't think it's that the procrastinators don't care, they/we may just have less ambitious plans and/or always leave things to the last minute.
More crazy exciting that way?

DalekInAFestiveJumper · 15/12/2013 09:04

I'm not ready, and based on the giant crowds of people visiting the shopping center next door this weekend, I think 'not even close to ready' must be pretty common.

Lucylouby · 15/12/2013 09:26

Nope, we have still got to move house before Christmas. Whoever thought this was a good idea needs shooting. It's so stressful in our house at the moment! But, I did wrap all the presents last night, then taking them to parents house to be stored so they don't end up packed and missing for the big day.

Shock Lucy!

But great idea about getting pressies round to your parents place so they don't get lost - you sound very organised.
Good luck!

DS has just opened today's window on the Advent calendar after asking "Is it the 15th today ?"
Then "10 more sleeps to go!"
Yikes Xmas Shock
Perhaps he knows I need a bit of a kick up the backside Xmas Grin

DC would have presents (wrapped) as would most other family members (unwrapped)

We would be having chicken nuggets for dinner though, as big food shop not arriving until Friday and we are eating out of the freezer/cupboards this week to make space, plus DC have a hectic schedule so quick dinners are needed.

House would look like a bombsite. hundreds of cards to/from DC are scattered everywhere and the tree is up but only half (bottom half) decorated.

There's plenty of alcohol in the house though Xmas Grin so none of the rest will matter too much.

KungFuBustle · 15/12/2013 12:16

I'm not doing anything massive and this is the most organised we've ever been. I've managed to get Christmas week off and I want to spend as little of it as possible dong jobs.

Day two of the house blitz today, then hopefully just maintenance cleans till the 25th.

NO !!! Been flooded and won't be back in our norm for 6 months . I was fairly organised but now the food has gone the pressies are in boxes somewhere . Insurance company is moving us again before Christmas but at least we can have some of our pets back . So it won't be the same as normal but at least we will all be together :)

princesscupcakemummyb · 15/12/2013 16:51

i would be present wise but not food wise lol

Lucylouby · 16/12/2013 14:21

mylittleotofjoy. I really feel for you. My parents house was flooded just before Christmas a few years ago, when I still lived at home. It was a dreadful mess. We made the best of it and went to their best friends for dinner, it wasn't the same and not relaxing. We were sitting on garden chairs watching tv, had no carpets and had the drone of the dehumidifiers all the time. It was a Christmas to forget. But as you say, at least you are all together and were insured so will have lovely new stuff for next Christmas. I hope you manage to find all the presents and enjoy yourselves regardless of your surroundings.

TheDayOfMyDoctor · 18/12/2013 20:06

Would be fine apart from total lack of food!

BeckyBrandon · 18/12/2013 20:16
