What have your 8/9 year old DDs got to open under the tree?

Just being nosey really, got their stockings pretty much done, and their main present under the tree (it's a joint one). Other than that, they've got a couple of books, new outfit and shoes and a couple of other bits and pieces (can't remember what).
DS has got quite a lot of stuff, he's younger and much easier to buy for!
So I was wondering if you had any good ideas for any other things to get them for under the tree?

Noggie is it this perfume set?

I only ask as DD had it a couple of years ago, and whilst the mixing was fun you can't actually wear the perfume (the scented fart putty was a roaring success though).

The soap making kit in the same range is brilliant.

DS1 has a tin if quiz cards. We have board game each (slight Hmm about getting DS3 who is 2 Twister!) they usually just have their new book, game, clothes for the day, stationary and things like a brain box cube or similar. They get 3/4 presents from two aunts, an uncle and GPs under my parents tree too plus we have friends coming this year and DH family are doing NY with us so we have a fair bit. Oh yes and new socks and pants (you know with character/football team etc).

I think you can wear the perfumes (though not sure you would want to) they just say do a patch test first in case you react

Can anyone recommend a present they have bought for their 8/9 yr old DD which is about £10 ish? Thanks!

Rainbow Loom and Crystal Mining set.

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 13/12/2013 14:20

Perhaps they've changed it since we had ours, it was a year or two ago.

VerySmallSqueak · 13/12/2013 14:22

A couple of DVD's,a box of stuff from Lush, and some earrings.

Theonly, Klutz books are good for that age range if they are into arts and crafts etc. They tend to come with the materials in the book and are very self explanatory.

claires stuff
welly socks

erm other stuff lol

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 13/12/2013 20:40

The potion making was great fun - I think the room fragrance crystals were used for quite a while, and the putty was very popular, just a bit weird not to make actual perfume.

If your DD likes that I'd definitely recommend the soap kit. DD was after the bath bomb one but the reviews were hit and miss so got the soap one and had a brilliant morning with it. Still got lots left to have another go too!

Please tell me about onesies. My daughters keep on about having them but I'm not sure. Looks to me as if they would be awkward if you need to go to the loo whilst wearing them. Am I wrong?

Theonlyoneiknow · 17/12/2013 10:18

Darn, the rainbow loom has gone up in price by £3, snooze you lose!

Will get a couple of those Klutz crafts books, anyone in particular peeps would recommend?
