I have just phoned up Conde Nast (Glamour) and Hearst (cosmo and company mags) and cancelled all my subscriptions with absolutely no hassle whatsoever. I was expecting to be asked to return the free gifts like some have mentioned but I think that only happens when you email as they probably don't dare ask on the phone. Also I had cancelled with my bank first 2 weeks ago and Glamour said it was still active so thank goodness I had rung to cancel them too.

My Great Plains parcel tried to be delivered yesterday but I was at the gym so now have to queue for 1/2 hr+ in the rain to collect it, dammit Angry

Gladvent · 17/12/2013 09:08

I put my Great Plains dress on last night just to check size... It was so nice and comfy I wore it all evening :)

WaitMonkey · 17/12/2013 09:14

Sangria, I bought a couple of Usbourne activity books, a photo album and a nice pair of gloves for db. Not so exciting. Am all finished. Though I do have a birthday present for a school friend of dd2 to buy for. The birthday is the 28th, so I should buy now. Off back to Amazon. Xmas Grin.

ThisIsMeNow · 17/12/2013 09:36

Where do I email to cancel the magazines? Just their regular email addresses?

ThisIsMeNow · 17/12/2013 10:03

Ignore me, just found the email address! BlushGrin

Ilisten2thesoundofdrums · 17/12/2013 10:42

Does anyone know when the John Lewis sale might start and if I leave things in my basket now will they still be there at the start of the sale?
i need to buy 2 knitted dresses and can't find anything in the size suitable for 2 girls anywhere else that is in stock.... and doesn't cost £££'s even these are a bit over my budget but I am hoping they may come down....

Waitingforflo · 17/12/2013 11:05

I wouldn't bother waiting in the rain for that long ElfOnTheShelf - the GP stuff is shocking! See through leggings, those cheap jumper dresses weren't even worth £4, a couple of dresses I got at £20+ are hideous beyond belief and it's all absolutely massive, so the sizes are all off.

I should have remembered this about GP - I ordered a maxi dress and top from them summer before last, stretchy fabric, got a medium/12 in both. I'm a 14 but had planned to lose a bit of weight - turns out even the XS were too big. The take vanity sizing to a whole new level - I'm still a 14 Blush but ordered the cheap jeans last week in a 10 and they fit fine (they're ugly though Sad ) . . .

TisTheSeasonToBeUnreasonable · 17/12/2013 11:28

Skimmed through quickly so may of missed it but anyone have any Argos codes?! Only spending £40 but would like to spend less Blush

whoneedstosleep · 17/12/2013 11:31

I have a 10% off code from Amazon to be used on a kindle if anyone will use it.

TheOneWithTheHair · 17/12/2013 12:37

That's a shame Waitingforflo. I've had the opposite experience with GP. All my stuff is fab. :)

SpottyChristmasCakes · 17/12/2013 12:40

I've started a thread in Christmas by doubt anyone will reply in time...does anyone know....if I've booked to see fc at harrods at 11 tomorrow what time would be safe to book for lunch at planet Hollywood? I don't want it to be too late as hungry 3yo's are no fun!

ReastieYuleANBU · 17/12/2013 12:42

ohhh spotty have a great time tomorrow.

DorrisM · 17/12/2013 12:44

Does anyone know of any deals on itunes cards? I've got at least six to buy.

Also buying DS a laptop, we're wondering if we'd be better off leaving it to the last minute to get a good deal. What do you think?

SpottyChristmasCakes · 17/12/2013 12:44

ThanksGrin I'm excited and dreading it all at the same time! It's going to be long day (4 adults, two 3yo, one 12mo and a 4 week old!)

SpottyChristmasCakes · 17/12/2013 12:48

I think Game were doing £25 for £20 on iTunes vouchers

newrose · 17/12/2013 12:56

M&S have started their half price gifts / paper / decorations etc - and it includes the branded stuff so Ren, Emma Bridgewater . . . Xmas Smile

ChestnutsroastingintheFireligh · 17/12/2013 13:02

I've done it now

I've only gone & succombed to Flavourly.

TisTheSeasonToBeUnreasonable · 17/12/2013 13:27

Oooh chestnuts which code did you use? Im so tempted .....

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 17/12/2013 13:34

Use FOODIES10 for £10 of your first Flavourly box

or your 2nd under a new email address...not that I did that, no not I

BitchyFestiveFace · 17/12/2013 13:49

Maybe you got a mislabelled pair Waitingforflo ? I got the cheap jeans in a 10 and a 12 as I'm between the two sizes. Mine are true to size - the 12 slightly big but comfortable (I'm wearing them now), the 10 just a bit too tight, similar to all my other 10 jeans from other shops. It's true they're not amazing, but they are comfy, and fine for round the house days. Back pockets are good too, well-placed.

I thought the £3 dresses were fine too, for £3.

ElfOnTheShelf · 17/12/2013 14:10

Picked up the GP parcel, and the queue wasn't too bad and I was inside at least but still had to wait quite a while as only one person on the window - of course when I was served two more came to help but by then the queue was pretty much gone must remember to go at 12.30pm not 12noon as think they must have been on a break

Dresses are fine, yes quite thin but that's how I like them as I'm an eczema sufferer so feel the heat a lot with wool. The dresses are a bit generous (I'm a 8-10 but bought a 10 to be sure as want to eat lots over Christmas but still be comfy) so I've got away with it. So sorry your experience wasn't good Waitingforflo Sad

Elainey1609 · 17/12/2013 14:15

Oh bloody bollocks, I forgot the Minecraft calendar in my mahoosive Amazon order this morning!

Thank you for reminding me inadvertently Elainey!

I am quite sad we are all slowing down...I feel like we should be linking arms and singing Auld lang Syne or something.....

MooseyMoo · 17/12/2013 14:33

I have all presents down from loft and poised to wrap tomorrow when kids at nursery. I'm a list geek and going to take note of presents I'm putting aside for birthdays so I don't buy even more stuff!

I've loved this thread so much reastie Flowers.

Shops were heaving at 10.30am today. I felt great wandering through the masses not needing to look for presents Xmas Grin

Boughttoomuch · 17/12/2013 15:14

Whoneedstosleep I would be very grateful to have the kindle code if still available. Thanks.
