Stocking presents - wrapped or unwrapped?

Just that really - I have wrapped them in the past but wonder whether it would be better to just bung em in and let DD get on with it? What does everyone else do?

I have not wrapped so far but dc's are only young and up til this year it's taken long enough to unwrap presents that need wrapping. This year dd1 is very aware and I will wrap to make it more exciting. I picked up a tip from mumsnet to wrap in tissue paper so I have brought some festive paper and will wrap in that. I plan to even wrap her orange. Dd2 will not know it care but for consistencies sake hers will be wrapped too

I wrap, so that it takes longer and so they don't just tip everything out at once - they open them in our bed, and it needs to last until I've finished my cup of tea! But I wrap with tissue paper so that I can just scrunch it round any really awkward shapes, much more forgiving than proper wrapping paper.

I have enough to wrap without wrapping all the stocking stuff! I just shove it all in!

I am adding extra tape to all of ds1s presents this year after how fast he got through them last year!

Definitely wrapped, otherwise it's just a two second thing to tip everything out. Wrapping makes much more of an event of the whole thing.

Yes I agree wrapping is best it strings it out a bit. I wrap everything except the fruit & sweets.

Unwrapped!

I grew up with everything wrapped so that is what I do. More exciting I reckon.

Wrapped in special 'Santa' paper. Which is the same paper which the Christmas Eve pjs are wrapped in (which Santa leaves)

My DC open theirs on my bed so I have a chance to wake up.

It makes more of an event if it's all wrapped.

Unwrapped apart from one or two things. They still take it in turns to take one thing out at a time so it takes ages

Wrapped, makes use of all the odds and ends of wrapping paper. My mum used to encourage me to open my main presents carefully so that she could use the best bits of the paper (no tape or creases) for stocking presents the following year as well! She wasn't tight, just thrifty having been an adult through WW2 and having to make do and mend.

I agree it takes longer to unwrap the stocking gifts when they are wrapped.

Partly because some stuff is just small presents that I wrap and then think I might as well put in the stocking. I don't wrap everything though because there's so many little bits and the dc get bored of opening stuff.

I don't wrap stocking presents for anyone, child or adult. I have enough to get wrapped without doing stocking stuff as well!

Wrapped and with loads of tape of course. Stockings need to take ages!!!

I'm wrapping this year but it depends how I feel, last year I just bunged it all in.

Dcs are at their dads for Christmas Day this year though. Do will come home to stockings hung on their beds. And piles of presents :)

Unwrapped because that's how it was done when I was a child and it never occurred to me to wrap them until the DCs were old enough to ask me why their stocking presents were never wrapped up like the ones in the picture books ...

Wrapped. Everything is wrapped. Apart from the chocolate Santa/reindeer. And he chocolate coins.

For the toddler I don't wrap the stocking fillers as she cant unwrap them herself but used to wrap small gifts for my twins as they got older.

I had this same delemia today...decided to wrap so it takes longer to open plus will appreicate more

Also throw in a few choc coins and choc Santa loll unwrapped
