Popcorn Maker, tick but now I need popcorn kernels

After reading on here the fab idea for a family present I have bought 2 x popcorn makers and a load of dvds. Just been to Asda and no popcorn to be found. Butterkist yes, a couple of boxes of microwave popcorn but no kernels.

Please tell me you've seen some, preferably not online as one of the presents needs to be sorted and wrapped for Thursday.

Where can I get some?

Every supermarket should sell it but it will be with the lentils and other dried goods. If not then try your nearest health food shop.

crazyhamsterbackonthego · 03/12/2013 15:37

Holland & Barret is where my Db gets popcorn kernels from or you could try any health food shop

Damnautocorrect · 03/12/2013 15:56

Any supermarket has it but yes it's with the lentils and dried fruits rather than ummm popcorn!

Damnautocorrect · 03/12/2013 15:56

presumably to hide the mark up

ShriekingGnawer · 03/12/2013 15:57

Tesco have it in the whole food section. Whitworths - dark red and clear packaging.

Golddigger · 03/12/2013 15:58

My local health food shop sells them for £1.

Felix90 · 03/12/2013 16:00

Seriously it is SO hard to find popcorn kernels! All the big supermarkets round my way keep telling me they stopped selling them ages ago Hmm only place I can seem to get it is health food shops and it's really expensive. OH makes amazing sweet and salty popcorn so I always need to have some kernels in Smile

Chopsypie · 03/12/2013 16:01

I saw some last time I was in m&s

SlinkyB · 03/12/2013 16:02

Sainsbury's do them in the dried food section, but agree they're not easy to find!

bruffin · 03/12/2013 16:05

Even our corner shop sells bags of popping corn.

Flibbedyjibbet · 03/12/2013 16:05

No wonder we (me and 2 assistants) couldn't find it.

Thank you so much for the suggestions I will look in the dried foods.. who'd have blumming thunk it!!!!!

Think I got mine from Waitrose. Tesco stopped doing them I was told

JulesJules · 03/12/2013 16:08

our Asda has big bags of popcorn kernels - next to the nuts and snacks with the crisps.

Golddigger · 03/12/2013 16:09

Sounds like they are readily available in some areas and not in others.

LittleMissGreen · 03/12/2013 16:15

Our sainsburys definitely has them - but on the one occasion I asked an assistant they didn't know where to find them (as said above they were with dried foods)

VivaLeBeaver · 03/12/2013 16:26

Our local Tesco sells it, bought some two weeks ago.

kiwidreamer · 03/12/2013 16:29

Supermarkets are hit and miss with stock for some reason I've found, I got a huge bag from Holland and Barrett, have run out this week so will be on the hunt again!!

ScrambledSmegs · 03/12/2013 20:36

In my local supermarket it's in the Indian food section, next to the chickpeas.

agendabender · 05/12/2013 08:18

Supermarkets here, with the pulses and dried beans. You're on to a winner with the present by the way, we absolutely love ours, especially at this time of year. It makes a nice warm healthy afternoon snack too, because it tastes sooo good even without extras when it's really fresh!

LayMizzRarb · 05/12/2013 17:59

Go on amazon, search for popcorn flavouring, and you can buy some great seasonings on there. They are really good. Salt n vinegar, caramel, cheese, chilli. You can also buy gift sets with kernels and flavours.

Flibbedyjibbet · 06/12/2013 15:37

Got some in Sainsbury's and it was with the lentils and whole foods (the assistant did know where it was).
Thanks for all the help

Waitrose sell them

Impatientwino · 06/12/2013 18:26

Oh just seen you've found them!

orangeplum · 21/12/2013 08:19

Felixstowe 90 - can you give us you OHs method for sweet and salty popcorn? Thanks
