santa doesn't wrap here either - but he only leaves 1 small gift!

all the rest I wrap

Rubybrazilianwax · 09/12/2013 22:20

My photobox mugs and mousemat came today, very pleased with them as I got them on the 3 for 2 offer.
Heres a thrifty tip if ordering personalised photo mugs. The basic mug is the lowest price and then its extra to add a name etc on as well. But if you have an iphone, use one of the apps for adding text to a photo (I used the Beautiful Mess one) you can add names or slogans before uploading your pic to photobox. Eg I made a dr who 'bow ties are cool' one for ds.

BuddyKringleberry · 09/12/2013 22:32

Am I the only Christmas geek who LOVES wrapping presses Xmas Shock x

Rubybrazilianwax · 09/12/2013 22:36

I love wrapping too buddy. Don't wrap all dc gifts though as their are 5 here, I have nice big sacks for some stuff which cuts out wrapping. I love wrapping gifts for adults though. I bought some nice silk ponsettias to put on the female gifts

zipzap · 09/12/2013 22:36

Oreo Have a look at the Tesco photo calendars - slimline/desk ones from £4.75, A4 ones from £5.75 and double page ones from £8.75. Plus of course if you have a handy local tesco you can pick up for free so no exorbitant postage.

funkybutnot Have you tried tkmaxx for small rucksacks? I've had some great small but proper rucksacks from there for my dc and usually less than a tenner instead of about £30. ds2 has a sammies sack in the shape of a penguin which he loves which was a real bargain - noticed my local tkmaxx had some ladybird ones which were great too, but maybe a bit young for a 7 yr old.

valiumqueen Blush sorry! I did a search on monster's university on the shopping section of google and I just followed the bigdaddy.co.uk link it gave that went to a boring dvd sales page. Didn't think about the implications of googling it without the dvd stuff Grin - another one to add to the list of things I have learnt not to stick into google from MN!

I have also spotted that Asda is doing 3 for £20 on a selection of books, dvds and cds - most of which cost about a tenner. dvds included smurfs 2, epic, nativity 2, superman, iron man 3, star trek into darkness...

Chocolateteabag · 09/12/2013 22:36

I received a camera remote thingy today too. Bit peeved, but will see if DBro can use it Gorillapod would have been ideal

TheOneWithTheHair · 09/12/2013 22:40

I love to wrap. I started tonight. Christmas music on the telly but as it's Monday I had tea instead of mulled wine.

missmakesstuff · 09/12/2013 22:53

I am waiting in anticipation of the Trattoria samples - which I have no idea if I am getting or not, the dove set from company, no magazine or set yet, the zest offer - dove again I think, and the body shop set, from glamour. The magazine was a pile of shite so the bloomin body shop stuff had better arrive! Also waiting on another Beer 52 box, 3rd I have had, only paid cut price for 2!

I have one parcel waiting at living hell the parcel sorting office, where chavs congregate to complain about everything, including the nationality and accents of the royal mail staff and their ability to sort mail, all in their hearing. It is a joyous way to spend a saturday morning...

I now need a skin for an xbox live controller - I have no idea if this exists or if all controllers are the same? Have looked online, they are very cheap but I have no idea if I have the right thing.

Then I am done! apart from wrapping, making hampers and labelling everything

Mellowandfruitful · 09/12/2013 23:04

Occasionally I seriously consider Smithy's approach in Gavin and Stacey of using kitchen foil to wrap presents 'you don't need no sellotape, you just scrunch, and done' Xmas Grin In fact I wish I'd known about it the year I ran out of sellotape at about 9pm on Christmas Eve and went on a fruitless drive around to see if any shops were still open (mostly not) and if they were, whether they had sellotape (they didn't) Xmas Blush

Mellowandfruitful · 09/12/2013 23:16

zipzap thanks for the Tesco calendar tip, I will check theirs out. I only do 2, one for each grandmother, so the 3 for 2 offers never do anything for me. Plus I can't get mine together for Photobox's midnight tonight deadline on their current discount...

meerschweinchen · 09/12/2013 23:25

Oreo How about Boots for the photo calendars? Prices seem to start around £14.99, but they currently have a 45% off code - it's on the website along with other photo offers:

www.bootsphoto.com/boots/storepage/storePageId=Special%20Offers

BuddyKringleberry · 10/12/2013 01:08

Can't sleep, my sons up chucking his guts up regularly. But it's not all doom and gloom. I've stumbled across an Amazon code Grin

5off25pc gives you £5 off a £25 spend. There are some exclusions. It's only items direct from Amazon and I know books are one of the excluded categories but I can't remember the rest as I found out via the Amazon chat and didn't take much notice.

Earlier today I ordered a DVD and CD for my OH for £20.99. But thanks to young pukey pants here keeping me up, I managed to cancel my order and add the Orchard Tell the Time game, use the promo code and get all three for £20.99.

I don't let vomit get in the way of a Christmas bargain. Excellent x

Dillydollydaydream · 10/12/2013 03:00

Way to go Buddy!
Hope ds is better soon

DrankSangriaInThePark · 10/12/2013 06:20

Oreo hang on there, I am sure I have some photobox code somewhere. Stay right there!

GlitteredPinecones · 10/12/2013 06:24

zipzap thanks for the Asda 3 for £20 mention. I've just got a couple of dvds and a cd I wanted Xmas Smile

DrankSangriaInThePark · 10/12/2013 06:33

Oreo They all expired on Sunday!!!!

50CAL will give 50% off photo calendars on PHOTOWORLD. I haven't done a calendar with them though so can't say what they are like.

For other photo-last-minute gifts, ALBELLI are still offering that £15 off a photobook for new customers. So you can get the £14.95 one for just p and p and it's fab.

Oreocrumbs · 10/12/2013 07:52

Morning, thanks for the calendar info! I'll have a proper look when I check in properly later! Flowers

Buddy we had the sicky child on sunday night, you have my sympathies!

Thankfully she was just poorly for one night and bounced right back, so fingers crossed for you little one.

butterflymum · 10/12/2013 08:27

Anyone still looking for gift ideas, here's one for someone (perhaps older teenager or adult) with an interest in Music in general:

Music (Hardback)

Ordered a copy last week and it arrived yesterday. It looks excellent, is rather heavy and seems packed full of fascinating info and pictures.

Various BookPeople offers around today eg 15% off, 3 for 2 on selected gift books etc.

Auntiebaba · 10/12/2013 08:35

BuddyKringleberry Thanks for the Amazon voucher code. I don't need anything but am hunting their site for a bargain I can use the code with. I now have so much for dd that my plan is to put away for next Christmas as her summer birthday is also bought for!

Looking for Playmobil or Duplo if anyone sees anything (that I haven't bought already!).

ApocalypseMeow · 10/12/2013 09:14

buddy Thanks for the Amazon code. Been hanging on for a bargain on the last thing I need for Dd1, a 3ds game so £5 off was perfect Xmas Smile

GlitteredPinecones · 10/12/2013 09:14

The bear and the mug in a tin is back in stock

GlitteredPinecones · 10/12/2013 09:15

So is the rucksack and a few other bits, though not the teddies sadly :(

confusedalways · 10/12/2013 09:28

Just got my December flavourly box very happy with it.

Chocolate truffles, fudge, mulled spices for wine cider or apple juice, muffin mix, savoury biscuits and 3 kinds of nut snack mixes.

All looks fab! Smile

GlitteredPinecones · 10/12/2013 09:58

There is a toy cash register coming up at 11am on the Amazon lightning deals.

When is the Boots Soap and Glory set on offer?

GlitteredPinecones · 10/12/2013 09:59

Some other toys are on the lightning deals too
