are you meant to wrap stocking fillers?

We never did stocking fillers growing up but now I have 2 small dc and dc1 is aware of xmas, I'd like to do everything. Are you meant to wrap stocking filler presents inside the stocking or just put them all in?

Also, when do you open stockings?

We wrap them in christmassy tissue paper coordinating with their wrapping paper of course we get up at normal time, have chrostmas breakfast (pancakes/bacon rolls etc) then do presents. DDs usually go for their stockings first.

Silver foil is the tradition for stocking filler wrapping in our family. Plus its easy.

I don't. I tried it one year, but found it too much after wrapping presents for 5 people.

If something's a bit fragile, though, I do wrap it in bubblewrap with tissue paper over it.

Stocking pressies always wrapped here, in different paper to the rest of the gifts. It's hung on the bedroom door at bedtime and filled during the night. It's then opened in bed with us in the morning, which is a nice delay and build up to the rest of the pressies.

I wrap them but don't put labels or ribbons on them.

Boys open them when we all get downstairs (very early), all other presents are under the tree which we open later after breakfast when guests have arrived.

Stockings opened after breakfast once dressed stupid dh and his traditions unsure whether to wrapi haven't so far but dd is very aware this year and I'd like it to be special! Yes I think I will wrap. I flipping hate wrapping Grin

Nope, our stockings are usually clementine, chocolate coins, puzzle book, small lego to build type things - the idea is just to keep 'em quiet until after breakfast, so I don't bother to wrap them - they're in the stocking, that's wrapping enough!

We wrap them but no labels. I'm not too fussy with the wrapping for the stocking though! Different paper as FC brings the stocking but not the under the tree presents in our house.

Always wrapped, usually in random odds of old paper!
Found at the end of the bed, used to keep them occupied until it is a reasonable time to wake up!!!! They might bring them in to us whilst we drink our coffee etc but it is a 5am thing!

Yes, wrapped here, everything, makes the opening last a bit longer.

Wouldn't be right if they weren't - wouldn't take long to get them all out. Unwrapping is part of the fun (wrapping not so much tbh but I couldn't not do it)

I wrap them but a lot of people don't. Stocking fillers are wrapped in paper with Santa's on. I don't wrap things like sweets etc.

No, stocking presents are all about instant gratification and should not be wrapped.

I always wrap stocking fillers apart from bits that are in blind bags - lego mini figures, hotwheels cars, lucky bags etc.
We open them in our bed as soon as the dcs wake! They love all the tat that they get in the stockings! Smile

Nope, no wrapping on stocking fillers here either. The stockings are the first thing they get on xmas morning and they just dive in.

I put in chocolate santas, small toys like little Lego sets or character figures, moshis, art stuff, fun bits and bobs like torches and yo yos, etc.

Our stockings are downstairs and on xmas morning dp goes down and turns on the fairy lights before the kids come down. While they're tackling the stockings we light the fire and then they open their Santa presents. Presents from us are opened later in the day.

Stockins are from Santa so are in special santa paper

I do - I used to love poking my feet out to the end of the bed to see if the stocking was there and feeling it all heavy and hearing the paper rustle! I did put a comic in DS' last year though and just sort of curled it around the top, unwrapped.

Me and DSis used to open them together in our bedroom and then run through to our mum to show her what we'd got. DS is an only child so last year I went into his bedroom with him to open it but I expect he'll run in to us this year - or stay with his cousin whose room he'll be sharing!

I wrap them because it makes it take longer :o I like wrapping though so it's no hardship. I'm thinking of using tissue paper (one colour for each person) this year instead of wrapping paper.

Actually, I've just remembered why we don't wrap. It's because we did once & the bed was full of scratty little bits of paper for days.

They get wrapped here, part of the excitement of presents is the unwrapping. Takes the dc longer to open them too and as they unwrap stockings with each other not us, I appreciate the extra time it's takes. An extra 10 mins in peace is worth a lot in this house! I always wonder if I should put more tape on to make it take longer....
