starlight36 · 06/11/2013 09:12

Sorry - 5811 Vertbaudet code sent to me on Mon evening but in small print appeared to only be valid for yesterday. Flash sale definitely on until Sun. If you are spending over £60 postage is free.

HenriettaBrain · 06/11/2013 09:19

Good luck to weebarra today BrewThanks

And reastie you are doing an excellent job here, I'm so grateful to you and all the other posters here. I've managed to get loads of stuff very cheaply thanks to you lot! Even DH has commented how fab you all are! Thanks

AuntieMaggie · 06/11/2013 09:20

Blimey not more rudeness.... Reastie thank you for all your hard work. Flowers

I miss Isaac too and not just because she looked through hduk for me :(

Ditto Disney - I've also got some great ideas regardless of whether the price has changed or deal has expired.

AuntieMaggie · 06/11/2013 09:22

Oh and good luck weebarra Flowers

keli5325 · 06/11/2013 09:22

I think this thread is fantastic and has really helped me get organised and pick up some good ideas along with amazing bargains Smile

I cant understand why people need to be so rude! if posters dont like it go post elsewhere or as someone said start your own thread!

notso · 06/11/2013 09:22

The thread worked better last year comeandgo because nobody was complaining about anything!
I think the overwhelming majority of us are grateful for Reastie starting the threads, and enjoy the chat that goes on. If a code is out of date we are happy to point it out. It's no big deal there's always other codes. I don't know why people don't start their own threads if they aren't happy.

notso · 06/11/2013 09:23

Best of luck weebarra

hermioneweasley · 06/11/2013 09:28

More love and appreciation for Reastie here, and all the fantastic Christmas bargaineers.

It is impossible to please everyone. I've had abuse from people for giving them a pay rise because it mucks up their tax credits. Some people are just rude, unreasonable and unable to see anything from any perspective but their own.

milk · 06/11/2013 09:30

I will accept your Baileys notso Grin (ignoring the fact it is only 9:30am)

YeahBuddy · 06/11/2013 09:31

Has anyone had a reply from Murad yet? I emailed them to ask why they were not honouring the book part of my order but haven't heard anything (I know someone said they were replying to fb comments but I'm taking a break from that dreaded site!).

Also thank you for the Book People advise (sorry, I can't remember which poster it was now), I didn't know anything about the points stuff and it does make sense to split orders to get free gifts etc.

If you use Quidco, opt in to their Christmas bonus thing. If you shop with five different participating stores on their bonus list they will give up to 20% cashback. I'm on my phone so struggling to link easily but stores included were Office, Tesco (I assume Direct), Book People, Gap, M&S, Littlewoods, Matalan etc. Worth a look if you still have gifts to buy.

Picturesinthefirelight · 06/11/2013 09:33

A bit of an odd request here (promise it's genuine)

Does anyone know where I can get some flesh coloured children's knickers that are slightly more bargainous than £6 per pair from dance retailers.

Primark sell them in ladies sizes but not children's. I need age 10-12 ish.

WaitMonkey · 06/11/2013 09:33

Thanks weebarra, thinking of you.

WaitMonkey · 06/11/2013 09:43

comeandgo, wow that was rude and totally uncalled for. You owe Reastie an apology.

I wish people who don't like the way the thread is run would just not both reading it. Reastie, is doing a brilliant job and I'm sure she as do so many others love the chat aspect of this thread. Maybe its just because I'm nosey, but I love hearing what others are buying. I wasn't part of robotgate, I haven't ordered any flavourly boxes or magazines or that skin care offer, but I love hearing all about them. I wouldn't change anything about this thread, apart from wishing the the complainers would leave.

Thanks for Reastie, your doing a great job and we are all really grateful. I'd keep the Amazon things in the op. People know how frequently they change prices, so I don't think anyone would complain if something had gone up. It's still worth letting people know. Just my opinion.

Isaac, hope you come back soon Thanks .

Kipsy · 06/11/2013 09:47

Cluedo Board Game on Amazon for £5.91

Free super saver delivery on orders over £10

creepycadence · 06/11/2013 09:48

I don't mind that the amazon links aren't always the same price as is stated in the op, as others have said, we can just add the item to our basket/wishlist and keep an eye on the price to see if it dips again.

These threads are fab. I'm usually running around like a mad woman in December, paying over the odds for gifts. This year, thanks to this thread, I'm almost finished and have saved £££.

I also feel all happy and Christmassy coming on here :)

Flowers reastie

DrankSangriaInThePark · 06/11/2013 09:49

I hope Isaac is here under a namechange, but sadly I think she might not be.

Every week or so I flick through the OP list as it gives me more ideas for things even if the codes etc have expired.

notso · 06/11/2013 09:50

Cheers milk who cares about the time it's 50 days until Christmas

CatAmongThePigeons · 06/11/2013 09:55

I luffs all the luffly people on this fred. I do. Wine Grin

I'm on the lookout for Monopoly junior and a Darth vader boys costume if anyone sees either on their web travels. Am hoping Monopoly Jr is on the 3 for 2 in Argos so I can grab it on behalf of my DM.

SandWitch · 06/11/2013 09:58

Continued thanks to Reastie and all you other bargain hunters Thanks

Kipsy · 06/11/2013 10:02

Wow that was needlessly rude comeandgo. Maybe time to go?

Reastie has done a brill job obviously as why else would hundreds of us be using and updating this thread every day?

Complaining about how this thread is managed is plain ill mannered. Yes, code expiry and price change updates might fill up this thread earlier - so what? Surely it will take Reastie more time to check prices/codes than to start a new thread? Yes, some of us have to skim posts that we are not relevant to us - but that's the fun bit of this thread. I was thrilled when the Furbys turned out to be real ones even though I didn't order one! I was crushed for those who missed out on murad whatever that is.

Reastie, don't stop whatever you are doing, it's working well! And we are happy to help! Flowers

NeverQuiteSure · 06/11/2013 10:07

Atlas editions were linked to on one of the other Christmas threads (stocking fillers, perhaps?) for cheap and unusual stocking filler type gifts.

They are one of those part-works companies that release a magazine and 'limited edition' something or other every 4 weeks at exorbitant cost. However, the first issues are generally just £1.99-£2.99 and come with nice diecast models or other such things. Apparently you can cancel very easily after the first edition. I had a good look at it last night and concluded that it does seem fairly low risk (you can return subsequent publications if you do forget to cancel) so I have ordered a model tank plus associated crap posters, postcards and flyers for £1.99.

FourAndDone · 06/11/2013 10:09

Comeandgo- do you enjoy sitting bythemoonlight?

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 06/11/2013 10:09

Cat are you me? I was about to look for both those things!

I was also just about to go and order Cluedo when Kipsy's bargainous price popped up. Have now ordered three copies obviously..

I wonder if we should all decide to ignore anyone who decides to spoil the Christmas spirit that the rest of us enjoy on here. Once one or two people have told the mean person to disappear, I think the rest of the comments might just give that person the attention they so clearly desire. It is such a shame that anyone feels the need to be rude to our lovely Reastie.

Leaves thread for two hours to do cleaning and to search for missing book which Amazon claim is already in my present mountain somewhere!!

roslet · 06/11/2013 10:10

More love to Reastie from me! I feel like I've joined a club where everyone (nearly) is as enthusisastic about Christmas shopping as me, and extra excited by bargains! None of my real life friends are as delighted by bargains or as organised and I can't keep talking to them about Christmas shopping in case they decide I'm bonkers.
