I had a red duvet cover from next that I used but this year I got this. Will probably wait till a week before Christmas to put it on.

Yes, but I put clean sheets on, on Christmas eve.

Clean white ones on my bed....ones which co-ordinate with the DCs bedrooms on their beds.

These Christmas ones seem...wrong.

I couldn't stand it if my whole house was full of 'Christmas'.

Yes its crazy but if you have the ££ to do it, why not?!

Have seen some delicious ones around.

I think DH would have a fit if I put a Christmas duvet on our bed...and it would seem wrong to have sex under a Christmas duvet.....Maybe that's way Father and Mother Christmas have no children.

Christmas cushions.....MIL tells me you just change the covers over, and keep the same "pad" as she calls it. She tells me anyone can find room under their bed to store few seasonal cushion covers. Summer, spring winter and fall....

Shakes head and tuts at all of you none Christmas Bedding types Confused
Grin

For many many yeas , I've put a Lakeland Limited fleece on the DC beds for maybe a fortnight before Christmas.

This year I've bought a couple of new fleeces from Dunelm Mill (including a gingerbread man fleece and cushions for the sofa)

I've bought a grey Nordic duvet cover set and a Primark flannel tiny navy deer sheet set for DH and I.
This'll go on on Dec 1st.

Everything goes into those vacuum bags in the loft after.

Hi, 70! I have that Dunelm Mill gingerbread man fleece too. It so lovely. :)

I still think I'll get an Xmas duvet set though, when I find one I love.

Yep that dunelm gingerbread man one is fab! Ive gone for that instead of the duvet this year. I am dreaming of the day I can put xmas duvets on all the beds in the house come 1st of december, but it may be the day I live on my own and so it will only be the one!

Give over.

An old boyfriend's mother had Christmas china and made a colossal song and dance about it. It was tacky and vulgar and kne of the many reasons I dumped him.

I apologise to those if you with cute children's bowls etc.

But a 33year old man excited cos his old lady is dusting off the tooth-achingly twee salt cellars is grim.

Bedding? Nope. Luxury and comfort should be your watchwords.

Not jolly ho ho and reindeer tat. Not for the over fives.

I bought DS the Next Advent duvet cover last year, he loved it. I will probably use it for the whole of December. If he uses it next year as well I figure it has cost £5 per year...well worth it.

I only just got DH to agree to the Nordic set because it's quite low key and it's not a thick fleecy cover.

Last year I bought a microfibre damson duvet set but it was too warm -now residing on DD bed.

I like my Christmas crockery. It's not an OTT Christmas pattern. I have ivy patterned and a collection of nice white plates.

Gravy boats, glasses, glass jugs and carafes.
Serving spoons, tngs, butter knives, butter dis, jam spoons.

Just nice enough to lift the meals out of the humdrum.

DH loves our seasonal bedding - mannish Ralph Lauren plaids, stag print cushions, fur throws and a reindeer skin. Totally Austin Powers - gets him right in the mood. Grin

He even suggested a stags head we saw in our local Pfister store for above the bed. Hahaha

When I am more financially comfortable, I might get a bespoke quilt made, this lady does lovely work - www.cozyquilts1.co.uk/default.html - e.g. the fairy quilts. That fabric comes in winter fairies, it would make a glorious winter quilt. Or you could find some festive fabric and get a quilt made to your specifications.
