19th thread

If lost then see message 2 on the first page for the codes/info collated from previous threads (to save slow loading for those using phones).

Claires Accessories are selling their Halloween stock for £2. This weekend only. Also quite a few clearance items

Ilikesweetpeas · 02/11/2013 21:13

nannyplum I was able to get 2 glamour subscriptions. Got Murad gift but not body shop one yet. I have had two letters confirming that I have subscriptions through. Don't know about zest

dementedma · 02/11/2013 21:19

I signed up for the free month trial with Amazon Prime then cancelled it in good time.'bastards have still taken the £49 out of my bank so now will have a battle to reclaim it.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/11/2013 21:20

Oh I see, I just used dp's name and used the joint account Grin

AliceinSlumberland · 02/11/2013 21:24

Has anyone seen any metallic silver brogues, much like these but cheaper? I'm struggling!

GinAndStoicky · 02/11/2013 21:30

Quicky, but in Home Bargains they had some lego books for 99p and hardback one for £1.99. Got a load for DS, my nephew and a few for the present box.

missmakesstuff · 02/11/2013 21:45

Hello all, I have been lurking a bit on all the threads and just wanted to say thank you all for the excellent codes and links, money is tight this year and we now have DD with lots of lovely things for under £30. I have my bird scarf on order for MIL (saw a lady wearing one at Leeds Castle this week, did think I should give a secret wink or something) and I am about to sign up for a £3 subscription for Company...and Zest, who also have the offer of loads of Dove stuff.

I am going to make Pamper kits for my friends as Xmas presents - although annoyingly the magazines won't come until January I think so will just have to keep thoe and the dove stuff if it comes too late...

Company

Zest

I am confused though as when you go through their website the offers aren't there. Very odd.

Anyway, came on here to ask if anyone had a Beer52 code as I really want to get one for DH with the cheapie flavourly box, we have a lovely hamper I am going to make plates for and get nice things for , going to make a 'Date night kit'

and to tell dementedma that if you email Amazon, they will give you the money back, I signed up for Prime but didn't use it and they gave it back, you should be fine :)

minsmum · 02/11/2013 21:50

Hi

I had an email from hut with GHD plum straighteners for 89.00 using code NEXT50 for next day delivery. Is this the best offer at the moment does anyone know. My dd announced this is what she wants for her birthday next week.
Thanks

missmakesstuff · 02/11/2013 21:54

Also, can I pick peoples' brains - is this weird or not - DD started Preschool this year - I think she would probably like to give some little presents to the girls and boy she mentions a lot as being her friends - if I got the little wooden watches for the girls and the ring lights for the boy - would it be weird to then ask the staff to just give them to the children before they go on the last day before xmas, just quietly, or put them into their folders or something? Don't want to start off a load of crying over gifts or no gifts, don't want to put the staff into a difficult position. DH takes her at the moment but I don't think he would know who the kids were, she just talks about them a lot.

Trumpton · 02/11/2013 22:02

Alice Any good?

ZIGGY911 · 02/11/2013 22:09

Thanks for all the bargains, MIL sorted with dove products and the scarf.

I just have the kids main presents to sort now. I'm after the best price on a 3DS XL, I know there are not many bargains but best shop for cash back may be a good option.

My daughter wants either a laptop or iPad and we can't decide which is the best option for her. Would love a few views to help me decide.

Thanks

Aldwick · 02/11/2013 22:12

Annuals on amazon for £4 at the moment

Littlemousewithcloggson · 02/11/2013 22:13

Miss, imo it's best not to give gifts to individual kids at school/preschool unless you know them and their parents well outside school. It's difficult for the teachers and parents can feel a bit embarrassed if they haven't given a present back. When my dd wanted to do it last year we baked some Christmas shaped cookies, decorated them and put them in a little cellophane bag with a love from... Tag on. Gave one to all 20 kids in the class. Other parents sent in eg 20 haribo packets or 20 lollies etc. Seemed to work really well. Of course that's only my opinion x

ThisIsMeNow · 02/11/2013 22:21

Can I just ask? Is zest the sanctuary set or dove? Only it says sanctuary online? Confused

It also says in t&c to cancel before the end of 6 issues but the trial is 3?!

Confused...

RhondaJean · 02/11/2013 22:22

Ziggy how old is she and what would she want to use it for?

I've also posted in chat folks but I'm looking for any suggestions on iPod docks with lightning connections, thinking about getting DH the Bose one (def not bargainous but I've saved plenty!) but if there is a better one I'd like to hear about it.

LaTrucha · 02/11/2013 22:27

silver brogue?

Mellowandfruitful · 02/11/2013 22:28

missmakesstuff when my DS was in nursery, a few kids/parents did this but the gifts were usually sweets or chocolates. The nursery staff would usually just put them into drawers. Personally I would go with getting inexpensive gifts at the sweet/chocolate level but getting them for all the children.

MARGUERITE18 · 02/11/2013 22:30

the amazon prime thing happened to us too but we managed to get it back:)

also has anyone seen any deals on dog toys- hide a squirrel to be precise or juicy couture perfume

TheIggorcist · 02/11/2013 22:31

Can I cancel my subscription?
The minimum term for a magazine with Hearst Magazines UK is 12 months. Subscriptions may be cancelled by providing 28 days notice in writing prior to the first anniversary of your subscription.

This is the bit I read about 12 months - but it's not from the 3 month thingy terms and conditions, so should be safe enough Smile. Has everyone who had aggro from companies had it sorted out now?
Think going to give it a go - entirely for me though, keeping the gift, if it comes!

PastaBeeandCheese · 02/11/2013 22:32

Does anyone have an ASOS code please? I am sure there was one mentioned on the last thread but I can't find it now.

I need to buy a maternity coat which isn't really in the spirit of this thread but I'd like to make a saving if I can!

LaTrucha · 02/11/2013 22:33

another silver brogue Muuuuuuch cheaper!

AliceinSlumberland · 02/11/2013 22:36

Thank you very much for the Silver Brogue suggestions, got the ones from Debenhams Thanks Thanks

Just got the chirstmas Yankee candle set from Clintons, 12 of the little sampler things for £19.99, used CSUN5OFF to get £5 off and free delivery so got them for £14.99 which is quite good!

Also got a personalised plate from a Facebook lady, £11.50 when you include p&p which isn't too bad, called Perfectly Personal Plates. It's a plate to leave things out for Father Christmas, has a space for the carrot, milk and mince pie. I think it gets more expensive as you buy more though because postage isn't combined.

ZIGGY911 · 02/11/2013 22:38

I look a photo on my camera of the terms and conditions on the magazine offer. I opened up the window with my name and address details behind it too. You can clearly cancel during trail period.

ZIGGY911 · 02/11/2013 22:41

My daughter is 8. She wants games and filming which would mean iPad is better, but she wants to watch a movie and do school work which are better on pc.

RhondaJean · 02/11/2013 22:43

Adore my iPad but it is no use at all for working on.

If she really needs it for that, a laptop would be best.
